I'll just leave this here.
Should I bother with the X Superbox or should I just get Terran Conflict?
The X-Superbox has 60something extra songs (composed by players) along with the regular game's soundtrack
I've uploaded a couple onto my youtube channel:

However, the older games won't be of much interest to you unless you have a laptop or older computer to play them on.
A brief description? You're dumped in a fully simulated universe of thousands of ships in a couple hundred systems. There are scripted "plot" mission sequences, but the meat of the game is flying around and making money through whatever means you like. Which may be mercenary work, mining, trading, piracy, or anything else that works.
You can have ownership of as many ships as you like, giving any order you like to the remotely controlled ones. There are plenty of software upgrades available so you can tell a ship to "patrol" or "trade" and it will do so as intelligently as it can.
You can also build your own factories and connect them to form complexes, manage the resource flow, and set the prices for your factory's products.
Seems very nice. Doubt I'll buy it though since I am playing EVE right now. Of course, X3 is probably much, much more deeper and story driven whilst well, EVE is an mmo.
Still, if I ever quit EVE and want to play around with Spaceships, I'll have to check this out.

It's just five dollars now, if you wait you'll have to pay the full 20$
It's not story driven at all really - the plotlines are very varied and give you many hours of gameplay but by no means are they the focus of the game. In fact some of the missions need you to have more money/warships to complete the objectives than you currently have, so you have to break off for a while and build up your assets.

Wait are you trying to tell me there is a story in X3?
There is a plotline but who the hell gives a fuck. It's a Sandbox game in SPACE and for $5 it's the greatest deal on Steam today. Even at its normal price of $20 it's fucking good
dude this game is worth like 100 dollars.
it's insanely deep (i think one of the most deep games out there) and you can have massive battles with capital ships with like 30 guns on it going off at the same time
Does the X Encyclopedia detail all the ships and game lore?
Does the X Encyclopedia detail all the ships and game lore?
Not the ships, but all of the game lore; past, present, and future. It also talks about the technology.
By the way, you don't need the X-Superbox to get the Encyclopedia; it's available for free on the EGOSOFT website.

Thanks a bunch.
Is there no tutorial for this game? It just throws me in space?
Just bought the x superbox without knowing much about it

Then you will have a lot to learn.
A huge space game for 5€? Yes please. Bought, along with Final Hours of Portal 2.

You can download guides and stuff, and there's a 5 minute "press x to increase thrust", but it's mostly figure things out by trying/failing/doing.
So I got the X superbox, but I'm not sure how to access the extra content, more specifically the extra music.

Go to Steam, click view and go onto tools, it should be in tools.
Bonus content with installers for Egosoft and fan made add-ons. To access the bonus material, select Library --> Tools --> X-Superbox Bonus Material from your Steam client.
There's a basic tutorial to learn the flight controls. When you start a game, there will be a "Flight Instructor" ship near you. Press the "." button to open up your sector map, and find the Flight Instructor ship (he'll have a light bulb icon next to the ship name, indicating he gives out a "Think" mission). Target him by double clicking him (or press T, forgot if T will work in the sector map), then hit C to send a communication to him (note: comm range is 25 kilometers. If you're out of range, hit shift-A to enable autopilot to get close to him). Ask him about flight training, and he'll take you through the basic controls.
If you need further help, send me a friend request on STEAM. I'm always willing to help someone learn the game
CAG doesn't seem to be able to resupply the SPP in the DLC sector.
Is Terran Conflict much more user friendly than Reunion?
I would say so.
Is Terran Conflict much more user friendly than Reunion?
Oh yes, far more. The HUD is actually comprehensible to new players, and you can access just about any menu or command from the sidebar. The game starts also give you better equipment than the ones in Reunion.
Going to jump into this game, Looks alot of fun. I like the part where you can create your own faction and build your armada and HQ.
I'm going to die lots before I know what's going on, aren't I?
I eventually got bored of trading and started attacking the Split and stealing their freighters.
Going to start again... Always get distracted by another game and end up neglecting this.
Are there any good player-written guides for starting out?

Check the OP and the manual.
Is there any way to use Anti-Aliasing in Windowed Mode? As soon as I check the option, the anti-aliasing option greys out.
