It just taken me 5 attempts to realise docking at the torus is best done manually at least I got to see the CONGRATURATION scene 5 times
HEPTs don't seem very useful for making pilots bail, any recommendations for weapons that tend to make them bail and fits on a Nova Vanguard?
Phased repeater guns might give you more luck. They fire a lot of bullets (ie a lot of impacts and a lot of chances to bail) and do less damage per second than HEPTs. But there's no weapons that "tend" to make pilots bail.
Boarding party eliminated. Boarding party eliminated. Boarding party eliminated.
Fuck off these are good marines, just cap the god damned M7M already.

Nail biting 3rd deck. Boarding operation aborted, boarding party eliminated.
FUCK.
Finally got around to reinstalling TC, decided to register it on steam too. Shame all my saves that I had backed up on my external hardrive are corrupted. But at least I still have all the scripts and addons.
Looks like I'm going to have to use the cheat menu to spawn some of my stuff back. This will now be my 4/5th playthrough of TC...
Damn. I stopped playing the main Terran plot a bit at Heretic's End to explore the area and make some money, and that Jackson dumbass can't stop himself from explaining me the mission details with comms over and over and over again. It gets worse.
Well I passed this mission as well as the patrol where you get those three rapiers, rapiers that got lamentably destroyed during combat. Now I'm at the TP escort mission and I was wondering if I had to get a small fleet in order to finish it, as I have a fully upgraded Eclipse.
[QUOTE=Lord Hayden II;31130896]I do believe that it is 38m/s from memory.
[editline]15th July 2011[/editline]
[/QUOTE]No, it's not always 38m/s. It varies depending on the speed of the ship. For example, my Kestrel can dock at about 150m/s because it has a very high max speed. Of course, it isn't exactly always necessary to dock at 150m/s.
Or practical.
Or healthy.

If you have the skills it is(I have the skills); or was you coupling those to "isn't exactly always"?
Isn't exactly always x
Easier and faster to use a docking computer

Really, docking computer is useful only when you have an interesting part in a book you want to read.

Let's you instadock from 5km away from the docking arm.
Oh wait Docking computer.
Not the one that goes on who knows how long and goes via the lightway.
:sbahj: I need to play them again at one point, memory's going batshit bad.
Oh so my swamp plant factory's transport keep getting destroyed by a Xenon Q in scale plate green. I guess unless I escort them with a M1/2 there's nothing I can do about it ?

If it doesn't fly off, hopefully a military patrol will come by and destroy it.

Good idea, I think they come from the Xenon sector nearby so I guess it'd be wise to ground it until all the stations are cleaned. Well, at least I don't lose credits as long as I don't buy other transports.

Sounds kind of like they're simplifying it
No more Silicon, Ore, Nividium, Ice, instead just Ore to make Metals. Though I guess I'm Okay with that aspect, but when something like X3 being as complicated as it is, goes through the Dumbing Down/ "Streamlining" Process. It's not just one thing that gets dumbed down. So this kind of has me worried
Then again all the old minerals and even more may be there and I'm worried over nothing so I'll just have to wait and see
One thing I definitely definitely do want is optimization. Reunion runs Okay, Terran Conflict runs a bit worse but just fine, but when there's a lot going on or a crowded sector, no matter what your PC is made of it'll just come to a crawl, if enough is going on. And there's no limit to how much can be happening in one sector

Considering how modable all the X-universe games have been, you'd almost certainly be able to add/diversify stuff in the economy.
Oh boy a [del]new[/del] old screenshot

Third post above, you're late mate.
I'm glad they introduce a bit more interaction with the ships/stations. This ore refining module looks awesome!
In X3 the sense of scale the enormous stations give is quite impressive at first, but once you got used to it, space can seem a bit empty unless you're on a busy sector. This and the "trading highways" I read about earlier could solve this issue a bit.
Nonetheless I'd like it if they left some vast, empty, unexplored sectors to wander in. It's still very impressive and nice to go scouting around in these, even after a couple hundreds hours of play.
So I need some help. As with most people, I'm having trouble making my first few million. I've got a kestrelfor missions and a mercury for trading. I used to just do trading and after a while got about 400k from it. I spent that on the kestrel + upgrades, because I read in a guide that missions would be very profitable, however missions are getting me barely anything, like 30k per mission if I'm lucky. And I don't want to mine nvidium that seems like cheating.
Do combat missions, claim ejected ships, sell them. Get your combat rank up by killing things.
High combat rank = harder missions but higher payout. Get a decent M3.
Save up for a Skiron M6 and do some boarding operations from it. Great guide on the egosoft forums about it. After that capture/buy a M7M and use those to board high value capitals. Again, a guide on the egosoft forums.
If you need a cheap M3 just do the terran plot. Its easy.
On an unrelated note, I fucking love the Griffon. It maneuvers like a M6 but can use Flak arrays and launch nine fighters. Plus the cargo is nice. Can you RE it at the player HQ?

Taxi missions give you more money the more you do them. Same thing for trading missions, but for most trading missions you'll need a jump drive.
I think I just used the Unstable Jumpdrive about 120 times trying to find an Aran.
No luck...
I do hope with these new 'modules', we can make awesome looking station complexes, unlike those ugly pieces of shit in the previous games. Even if you have to create a station 'hub' with various connections, and then add the stations onto it. Anything but those pipes. Please.
