I'm making a 75 Chip plant complex loop. Fuck the HUB plot, this is taking forever.
There's a mod that gets rid of the Tubes, it is a must IMO.
I'm not so sure its compatible with the factory complex constructor script I'm using.
Also, if you look at your screenshot and flick your scroll wheel up and down one notch really quickly, it looks 3D

Well now it has a large array of Solar power plants in the middle. 5 XL then 1 L then 2 M.
I have 6/12 Crystal Fabs on the Complex now. After that comes 27 Cattle Ranches, 27 Cahoona Bakerys and 75 Chip plants.
I never intend to come back to this system.

That's the loop. I'm working on the 75 Chip Fabs right now. They line up nice when you rotate them -30 degrees.
Holy shit ! How do you do it so the tubes aren't squeezing in every way possible to be the right length and such ?
FCC Script.

An awesome game. One of the best purchases I made on steam :)
I'm playing it with X3 rebalance mod. Any suggestions for a first time player?. Terran defender, with 1.500.000 credits and stuck in "deliver 200 Teladium to military outpost" :s
OOS Nividium mining. Not sure if the rebalance mod changed it but its a great way to make loads of cash.

Borderline cheating but its still legit.
Why would he sell the Mercury's with the cargo instead of re-using them?

That's one hell of a series of tubes.
Why would he sell the Mercury's with the cargo instead of re-using them?
Because there are only a few places that will buy nividium. Selling the entire mercury will sell the nividium it contains for half its value or something like that.

A Hercules can sell for just under 100 million credits at a shipyard in my game. And that has a max. cargo bay of 40,000. So it's either you sell that, or you go around to EVERY station in the game, and sell 2 or 4, or however many Nividium at the stations for about 16,000cr.
So you can do it the time consuming way (Not really, it's impossible) and earn 160,000,000cr. (Selling 4 Nividium at a time at the special stations that will buy it for 16,000cr. (For 10,000 Nividium)
OR
Sell a full Hercules (approx. 10,000 Nividium) for about 95,000,000cr at a shipyard which can be done instantly.
There is about a 70 million credit difference between the two methods, however, one is much easier to do then the other. Guess which.
Fucking hate trying to find the Goner Aran.
Trying to do this in my M7M packed full of elite marines while I do the HUB plot.

Well I assume you're referring to the amount of jumps it takes to find, cheer up, it'll take ages to produce all those microchips. In the meantime, you can watch my video of me capturing my Aran.

At least 200 jumps I have made so far.
I'm having an odd issue with the 3.1 version of the game, so far it's unmodded, but whenever I try to play it, it gets to the start, you know, where you choose how to start, and to the loading screen after that, and then freezes.
Windowed mode didn't do anything, and I have no idea if toying with the other settings will help...
Steam version?

A LOT of very interesting information. I still am extremely hesitant to get my hopes up, but they are at least doing what I hoped. They are completely starting over from scratch. It doesn't sound anything like the old X games at all.
[editline]20th August 2011[/editline]
Notes I gathered from watching the video:
- They called SETA a hack and a bad design decision (You have no idea how good it makes me feel to hear them say that.)
- Freelancer style trade lanes confirmed
- There are short range and long range lanes. Short ones you can leave at any times, long ones are interplanetary and you cannot leave them.
- Jumpgates are still around for intersystem travel.
- There are no more sectors, the entire system is modeled instead.
- The player ship has an interior with crew that you can walk around in.
- They imply throughout the presentation that the player can only fly the "player ship" whatever it is. (This is similar to the original X:BTF , where you only had one ship that you upgraded as time went on.)
- They imply that walking around your ship is related to how you manage your assets rather than just sitting in the cockpit with menus open.
- Drones are a huge part of the game now. Aside from the player ship, they are implying they are the only directly flyable ship.
- Wide variety of specialized drones. (Scanning, mining, combat, collecting, etc)
- They heavily imply that capital ships are not directly flyable by the players.
- You now can give detailed orders to capital commanders instead of remotely ordering them.
- Capital ships now have an extensive external hardpoint system referred to as "surface elements."
- They say that there are "hundreds" of surface elements on larger ships.
- Capital turrets apparently come in groups and are mounted in groups. Presumably this means that capitals have MUCH more turrets, however they are now controlled as batteries of guns instead of individually.
- Surface elements include engines, shields, jump drives, and many other targetable and destroyable items.
- Shields can be placed to specifically shield important surface elements. (They weren't very clear on this one, I may be wrong.)
- Stations also use this system and can have modules attached to them.
- Stations now must be crewed to operate, and stations have some kind of effect on how many ships you can own.
Confining you to one ship? That's a complete sack of bullshit. My favorite part of X3 is flying along in my flagship and commanding a fleet of capital ships and their respective fighter squads.

They said that you can directly control ships with virtual presence via drones, so physically you are only in one ship but you can fly many ships.
If what they say about drones being controllable like the player ship is true, you could probably pretty easily mod in new ships, then godmode the "primary" ship as you fly the "drone" ship, like you would in a previous X-game.

The translated video was re-uploaded.
It's going to more like Freelancer, there's multiple factions for the individual races, etc. The only thing I worry about is all the interactions that he mentions; previous EGOSOFT games haven't been known for their uh, writing or voice acting, which looks like is going to play a much larger part in Rebirth.

Managed to do a few hold position missions with my Colossus and its 40 Discoverer Vanguard squad, which led me to realise that the capital ship's pilots have a pretty low IQ: My Colossus destroyed a Xenon Q by directly banging into it.
