Just got myself a Terran Scimitar. It took some time, but i eventually got it. It is hard as hell. I can't be bothered to accully go and do the mission to rescue the guy who got captured by the Argon. It is his fault, he shouldn't go around spying anyway.
I HATE THE ATF ACCESS!! I WANT TO GO AND VISIT EARTH!!!

You will never be able te visit earth, not without cheating. You will get killed after a couple of seconds no matter what. And it lags like fuck
I suspect they're saving a lot of the ATF stuff for the 2.0 update like they did with Reunion.

Earth is in this? Man I definitely want to play now!
Of course it is, [sp] at the end of Reunion, a gate to Earth was opened[/sp]

End of Terran quest grants you access, doesn't it?
There's apparently a bug with Earth though, where even if you have access, ships that fly in / out of Earth are basically instantly killed if you're OOS.

Yeah but you don't have access from the AGI or something, what i did was to delete all the lasertowers, supertuned my ship three times and i even cheated with the docking. Pity one have to cheat, once you have cheat scripts installed you will begin to use it no matter what.
Yeah, that bug will hopefully be one of the next ones fixed, as well as one of the Goner Missions.
I bought this game about a month ago and I played it for like 30 minutes and stopped. I'm not going to play until the bugs are fixed. The speech thing only pronounces the last parts of words when i click on something like a ship or a space station; and the voice acting is fucking shit.
It doesn't for me. Have you updated to v1.2?
EDIT:
Oh, and it has hardly even been out for a month.
Wee, this Eclipse kicks ass. 200MJ shields fuck yeah.
I can't wait to get my first TL, but I still don't have a complex or anything. It's just a pain knowing that the bio/food factories I need are sometimes halfway across the universe.
And I can't wait til I own an M7 (note M7 not M2), I just like how they are. Like flying outposts.
BIG flying outposts.

In that case make your own Bio/Food factory. The demand should be fairly high.
Unless the Xenon start hating you inpaticular for no reason...
I might buy this.
Should I get Terran Conflict at the same time? (Wait, is it even an expansion or a standalone?)
I would try the demo, but my internet loves being 100kb/s at it's very fastest.
In that case make your own Bio/Food factory. The demand should be fairly high.
What I mean is, when I boot up a complex calculator and find out what stations I need, sometimes I have to trek halfway across the universe to find them. When it would be much easier to just jump in your TL and have it dock.
The good thing is, though, I've found that Cho's Defeat has M bio/food factories. I want to set up this complex somewhere near the Terran starting sectors, the whole region around Omicron Lyrae and what not.
Also, there's an epic map with station/asteroid details at http://eng.x3tc.ru/x3_tc_map/.
All you need for a self-sufficient factory is Bio M, Food M, Crystal fab M, a Silicon M yield 30-40 and a medium SPP.
Also, is anyone else's UTs fucked? They just keep making microtrades of energy or ore or something everywhere. They were more profitable as sector/local traders.

Terran Conflict Is stand alone
IIRC the demo is only a rolling demo and not playable.

They seem to hang around more often, think It's something to do with npc traders now having jump drives? unsure.

Thanks.
Also, I meant the playable X3: Reunion one.

When they were STs they'd go around everywhere trading in Ice and Water and Hull Plating and whatever (since I put them in the Terran sectors for safety).
I can't wait to get my first TL, but I still don't have a complex or anything. It's just a pain knowing that the bio/food factories I need are sometimes halfway across the universe.
It shouldn't matter how far away your food factories are. Equip your food collection freighters with jumpdrives, set them to autojump and tell them to carry 20 or so jumps worth of Ecells.
Now they'll leave your factory, jump to boron (or whatever) space, fly across one sector, buy wares, jump home, fly across one scotr, dock at your station. This makes it as if your food supply is in the next door sector.
They'll continue to do this until they run out of cells, at which point they'll take a detour to buy more.
I wish they'd take them from the factory/complex stock though. It'd save even more time.
I have all my complex buy/sell freighters equipped with jump drives, and set them to to jump even if the station they're going to is only in the next sector.
SF2 TS ships are slow enough at the best of times, anything that can be done to speed them up is welcome in my book.
I use SF2 Paranid Demeters for my bulk loads.
They have a good mixture of speed, cargo & shield.
I use Terran Spitfyre M3s for selling finished products (weapons, shields, etc).
They're rapid as hell and because I use them as fighters on my carrier I have loads of them lying around.
I buy the fighters in bulk from Aldrin using a TM whos sole job is to:
* Jump to Alderin
* Fly the 2000km across the sector
* Buy up all the M/AM guns and ammo it can find
* Buy, fitout & dock four fighters
* Jump to my carrier
* Transfer everything over
* Repeat
Edit:
Oh, just read your next post, forget what I just said.
You meant actually buying the factories, not the wares.
One tip for people who dont have their own TL yet...
If you ever see one while out flying around, hire it and send it to a shipyard. Then it'll be there as soon as your require it to transport something (it'll still have the long slow drive across the sectors though.
The other thing I did before I had my own is to remember to re-hire the TL as soon as it's dumped its load and send it back to the shipyard that way you'll always have one at hand.
I used to forget to do this a lot though, so the other thing to do is to keep a complex construction kit on board all the time so it always remains hired.
Is this as hard to get into as the first one and does it still take fucking forever to do anything even with SETA?
Is this as hard to get into as the first one and does it still take fucking forever to do anything even with SETA?
Nowhere near as difficult to get into.
The Terran storyline throws new ships at you (there are quite a few annoying bugs in it though).
Also, the new bulletin board mission system means that you always know which stations have missions available. They pay out really well (some say too well) and you can soon start buying bigger ships & stations.
The UI has been pretty well improved, relying less on having to know a million keyboard shortcuts and more on being able to click a mouse and select from a menu.
SETA is still the same, I don't find it a problem though.
As was the case in the previous versions, if you have a meaty machine you can turn it up from x6 to x10, making it almost twice as fast as the default setting.
Just so you've got an idea of how fast you can progress in TC...
I currently have 3 days, 20 hours, 21 minutes flying time, time saved with SETA is 2 days, 5 hours, 31.
Meaning I've been playing the game for 39 actual hours.
There's about 50 million in the bank, I've got a chain of factories pumping out equipment, freighters supplying the complexes, a TL, an M1 and around two dozen fighters.
I've completed 47 missions, I'm guessing around 30 were combat missions. I must have earned over 100 million just from those before I even built a single factory. The later combat missions were earning me 10-15 mil per mission.
By bio/food factories being halfway accross the universe, I mean as in factories sold by shipyards, not NPC owned factories. I'm talking about making a closed loop complex.
Thankfully Cho's Defeat sells M size chelt aquariums and M size rastar refineries, so now I've got them loaded in a hired Albatross along with the crystal fab, which is trundling over to my mine at Omicron Lyrae.
I can almost taste the energy cell surplus.
You will need about 10 stations in my opinion just to make a closed complex that makes money all by itself.
[sp]Unless you are talking about a sector like a Khaa'k one, they are big[/sp]
This thread makes poor people like me jealous :c
Still stuck with Reunion down here. Hopefully will be getting Terran Conflict for christmas, though.
Same here.
I have X3: Terran Conflict, But I can't understand it for shit. It also lags like hell even though my computer can run crysis on medium.

Actually all you need is bio/food M, silicon M with yield around 30, SPP M and crystal fab M. According to my complex calculator that makes less crystals per hour than it uses, but the simluation shows that the complex still keeps sustaining itself.
I fixed the complex calculator so you can save your creations...
