Anyone happen to have any spare friend codes for this game?
So, this this game any good and alive? Did not hear much about it. A friend is trying to coerce me into playing it.

Worth a read if you're considering buying the game, also keep in mind the game is going F2P in 2018 and it shows in the game's grinding to craft to grind to craft meta and lootcrates model
I wanted a refund on my $100 version or whatever and i got denied because its been too long since i bought it

If you buy something on Steam, you have exactly 10 days to decide if you want a refund or not.
Is this available on Steam?
Anyone looking forward to trying the Battle Royale mode this week?
uhhh what do you mean this week? BR mode has been out quite sometime now..?

I thought it was releasing for free this week.
oh I see, they're releasing only the BR mode for free not actual PvE fortnite. my bad
I personally think it's a step in the hilariously wrong direction for the game but eh
the BR mode honestly looks like it could compete with PUBG, esp with it being free and more lighthearted than PUBG
The pvp fast building thing also reminds me of Sourceforts for some reason, kinda wish they'd make a mode like that at some point.
Servers up on PC/PS4 they are going to be up on Xbox in a few hours;

You can download and start playing BR without the need of purchase see you in game!
Add "Whiteboy_Brown" for squad play.
can you play as a group like you can in pubg?

4 Player squads was released with this update so that makes this have solo and 4 player squad no duos yet.
Battle Royale really feels like it's just Fortnite, a game that's at it's core completely different and oriented toward PvE, retrofitted to be a carbon copy of PUBG. It's not bad but it's not as good as what it's emulating and it's not unique enough to stand on it's own feet.
It reminds me very much of Battlefield Heroes, except that worked better as a light-hearted alternative to the Battlefield games and even the other F2P game they were experimenting with at the time, Battlefield Play4Free.
I just dont get the appeal of BR in fortnite, let alone any other game that doesnt specifically emulate the arma style of gameplay.
PUBG works because its a tense and deliberate game. Lots of emphasis on establishing firing angles and using the terrain to help your assault while relying heavily on raw skill with your weaponry. An AK with an 8x can either be useless to a player with no grasp of the ballistic physics or an absolute slaughter machine in the hands of someone who's well practiced.
Everything ive seen of this just feels cheap and arcadey. Sure maybe its got more 'polish' when it comes to comparing the two games bugs but it doesnt seem remotely as compelling and it smells a lot like Epic trying to capitalize on Brendans poor PR presence even though theyre business partners.
My only issue with it is that the actual game still has a lot of balancing and longevity issues, and the community has been complaining about the same issues since day one, but instead they went and made Player Unknown's Fortnite for some reason.
I think Battle Royale could work alright with Fortnite's gameplay, just a shame to see them branch away from the main game already.
i definitely love what theyre doing with the building elements but yeah they shouldnt just be dumping their core player base like this imho.
i feel like i should definitely be granted a refund now if theyre just gonna focus on PUBG style shit
bad enough the PvE aspect was disappointing but now theyre just not even gonna be that kind of game anymore

apparently pvp and pve are on the same servers, so those who bought the full game have to wait on a queue to get in just because of the popularity of the freely available pvp. lmao fucking pathetic
Didn't know anything about this game at all, my friends made me download it yesterday and I'm honestly having a blast, just won my first solo game. I'm legit surprised how much fun it is.
I haven't played PUBG so I cant compare it to that, but so far it feels decent enough. My only complaint is the hit or miss lag spikes. It may be something on my end though, as I have my PS4 connected to the internet via WiFi.
Sure there's a few moments where the servers have crapped out for me and the hit detection is a little iffy but I think this is brilliant atm. Nice breath of fresh air after playing PUBG, specially with the building mechanics. Considering the game is free, there's not much to complain about imo
Do a lot of people play Fortnite? I'm interested, but worried in its longevity. Plus paying for it now when it's just gonna be F2P later feels kind of weird.
Don't buy the game. It isn't even finished, and the first couple hours are absolutely boring as FUCK. I am honestly upset I purchased this game, just wait. Battle Royale is free though and its great.
played battle royale with a friend, was alright. i like how its a bit like a boiled down pubg.
smaller and more interesting map, less equipment management, and not 30 minutes of waiting before seeing one guy
Map is way too small to be any fun. No matter where you go there's at least 3 squads
Can't help but think the idea of resource gathering and fortifying anything is very counter intuitive to the PUBG gameplay.
9/10 times you'll be forced out of your fort by the shrinking map, pretty much making it luck based to even get to touch that half of the game.
fortnite's BR mode does BR better than PUBG does. PUBG enforces really, really shitty playstyles and the pacing is all over the place while fortnite is extremely consistent. in PUBG you have to play really defensively which more often than not doesn't play well in your favor at all due to (let's admit it) awful netcoding and the armor system is an absolute joke. you know it is. in PUBG, rounds can last FOREVER and what's the point if playing an extremely long and unrewarding game if you are going to die to someone that you never had a chance against in the first place. you've got a pubg where a game can last almost an hour and you've got fortnight where a game is over and done in fifteen minutes or less. the aggressive compression of the map is SO much better

also not having to worry about changing gear constantly is a huge improvement. i think PUBG is full of false achievement, primarily in finding/upgrading better armor and gear. you spend more time playing barbie doll simulator in the inventory screen than you do actually playing the game
In my experience, Fortnite's BR is a much more casual and light-hearted experience. You can get into a match with your mates, lose and everyone just goes "Eh, no biggie". Also performance-wise, Fortnite is LEAGUES ahead of PUBG, although it might be because of smaller and less detailed map.
