I just finished the game and I do have one issue that I've not seen brought up so often but [sp]after you finish the train journey and find that the empire is all dead and its basically just a city of Daemons did anyone else find that reveal kind of sudden? I mean the empire has been attacking you a lot up until this point, I mean they were the major force that kicked off the plot so finding them just kind of gone seemed almost disappointing to me. I think i'd prefer it if there was some indication that this was the case.[/sp] That's a reasonably large spoiler so if you're like me and occasionally you risk it with the spoiler tags I wouldn't.
it's a ridiculous cop out yeah [sp]the emperor and his army being this huge looming threat and basically the only thing this game tries to build up to (because for Luna they didn't even try) is just a puny little gollum-looking enemy with no cutscenes [/sp] it's incredibly mediocre

[/sp] [sp] It would have been so much better than it just happening all of a sudden. But that seems to be the case with a lot of the plot in the game so far, hopefully its something they address in the future[/sp]
Quick question about the fate of some characters that I cant make my mind up on. [sp] Did Prompto, Iggy and Gladius all die or not? They show up briefly in the astral plane when Noct and Ardyn are facing off but I dont know if its symbolic or literal.[/sp]

Judging just from standard storytelling practices, the companions didn't die at all, they didn't die onscreen nor were their bodies shown at all. The last sequence was likely just to show the last friendly moment between Noctis and his friends, and how its now broken up as Noctis is dead.[/sp]

[SP]For sure they are dead. That daemon pre-rape scene is intended as indicator for that fact.[/SP] (User was banned for this post ("Spoiler" - Novangel))

I started playing 13. Despite being a very stern protagonist, how the FUCK does Lightning not slap the shit out of Hope whenever he speaks? He just starts making shit up to blame others for his own problems, like it starts out at him blaming Snow for his mom's death, then he just starts to add him to any other character's problems as if he's directly involved.

To the point of appearing with little to no context at certain points.[/sp]
You can guess my reaction to the ending, I was fucking hysterical totally worth it 10/10
I picked a photo of some random woman sitting at a table eating by herself. Ignis had a "that's it!" moment just from walking by her, and Prompto decided to take a picture of her for some reason. I had no idea what was going to happen when i chose it, but I have no regrets, that was just perfect.

Has anyone played New Game+ yet and know if it's possible to get multiples of the best gear in the game? I've come pretty close to being ready to start NG+ but I haven't made the plunge yet until I'm certain I've collected all the best items because I hope to get multiples for some characters.
I'm really annoyed that New Game + doesn't offer any additional challenge, I was pretty sure that I read an article that they intended to do more with NG+ but overall it's just the same game but you're overpowered which is not appealing at all. So I just started a second playthrough and I really intend on doing most of the side quests and optional dungeons. Despite not being a fan of Final Fanatasy, this game was really a surprise hit for me. Sure, it's flawed but overall the gameplay and atmosphere is just so enjoyable.
The only part of the entire game that I cannot stand (gameplay wise, that is) are those fucking Thunder Bombs in Costlemark. They put 2 or 3 in a room and they spawn so many clones that my framerate tanks, and I can't move around until they explode and wipe my party. Aside from that, I think this is one of the most fun RPGs I've played in a while. Just gotta max out Fishing and Survival and I'll nab that Platinum trophy!
Maxing out fishing is the only thing keeping me from going for Platinum I'm sure it gets faster after you've got a few levels but man is it not fun
Finally got around to getting this. Got to around the second tomb when I get ambushed by a level 34 monster.
Finally got around to getting this. Got to around the second tomb when I get ambushed by a level 34 monster.
Yeah, this game likes to throw some pretty powerful enemies at you from time to time. But if you are well prepared you can take down tough enemies way over your level.
Maxing out fishing is the only thing keeping me from going for Platinum
If you buy the really good rod / reel from the [sp]Vesperpool shop[/sp], you shouldn't have any real problems with most of the fish in the game. Just catch 'em fast, and your levels will skyrocket. I don't know how to ping Gladio's Survival skill, but I'm about 55 hours in, and it's only at level 8.
I have a few issues with gameplay that bother me so much that it almost makes me want to stop but the rest of the game keeps me going. My biggest gripe is how the game is constantly slowing you down for no reason other than to slow you down. Walking across ledges, crouching through tunnels both slow the game to a crawl and it's unbearable. After every battle your character stops to clap his hands, annoying. The party continuously has something to say and holy crap could they just SHUT UP. Stamina for running is pointless, and I've never used stamina in battles except for when i'm hanging for all of two seconds to recharge my mana which coincidentally does what stamina does when it runs out..why? Everyone else in the game does fine without magic yet your reserves run dry and suddenly you've got the mobility of a brick. My other gripes are more minor and less irritating so I just kind of deal with them. I like how most side quests are enjoyable if only for the interactions, but I dislike how most side quests are the same. Can anyone explain to me, why I can't collect more than 99 of each energy type? Sure I can fill up, make a spell and fill it some more, but doesn't it make sense that if you can level up the collection rate, you would also upgrade the storage capacity? And to fuse items with energy to make spells...it's a unique concept that works and doesn't work for me. If I wanted to make a really nasty spell I'd have to use up a really rare item which you likely can't find much of anywhere so you'll likely only ever make this spell once. And then you only have so many charges of that spell, why not make the flasks rechargeable? Or possible to fill up more so long as they're still that particular spell. I find magic in this game to be purely dumb all around, and so I rarely use it for anything except to wipe a room full of bombs. Other than that though, I did enjoy my experience for the most part. The story was interesting though broken in some places, the characters were each unique and I never wanted to slap anyone for being a Hope (FF-XIII). I just wish they tied the movie better by letting us spend more time with certain characters.
Maxing out fishing is the only thing keeping me from going for Platinum I'm sure it gets faster after you've got a few levels but man is it not fun
Watch movie\video\stream at the same time while fishing if you can. Works for any boring and simple game tasks.
No regrets. :v:
Tonberry Knights are fucking terrifying.
Tonberry Knights are fucking terrifying.
Like I mentioned a few weeks ago, that endgame dungeon with tonberrys in every room took 4 hours, and that is with parrying every attack.
Just got the platinum trophy today! Really happy with that, and very excited for the upcoming carnival event. It looks super cute.
