R7 1700 and GTX 970 here. Getting an average of 50 - 60 FPS on a mix of High and Highest settings, Gameworks stuff turned off.
I hope the tweak guides start hitting soon so I can actually see the difference between different settings. I honestly don't have any idea what Screen Filtering does, and I can't tell any difference between "High" and "Highest" for lighting.
And yeah, Gameworks stuff tanks performance hard as always. Outside of maybe Hairworks (which only apparently applies to some specific monsters), there's pretty much little to no visual difference for the other settings that outweigh the performance penalty you get with them enabled. In fact, Turfworks actually gets rid of the physical interaction with grass and bushes while being easily the most taxing setting. Really no point to having it on.
Help, i can't stop taking 4k screenshots. Ansel was exactly what i wanted when i was playing this on PS4.

Also here's the steam workshop, that's where the HEV suit and crowbar is:

If you subscribe to the items, can you get them if you buy the game months later? I read those were limited time items.
I feel like I'm incredibly shit at the combat because it's incredibly frustrating and unfun to me. I'm liking other aspects of the game so far but the combat is infuriating to me.

I wish you could turn down the hairworks tessalation, it looks nice when it's used but it can cause upto a 10fps hit even on a 1080

I think the combat is pretty fun but you need 3 hands on pc, why they didn't just put target selection on mouse

It could be worse
And literally no one is playing comrades
And literally no one is playing comrades
We are all busy playing the main game.
Is anyone else unable to zoom in/out on female character models? I'm not sure if my game failed to download/install everything properly or if SE just doesn't want people to zoom in/out on female characters.
And literally no one is playing comrades
My friend told me its setting contained story spoilers, so I'm saving myself for a while.

I'm pretty sure this is intentional. Really silly, sure, but it's intentional, it's not just you!
I won't lie, Comrades does spoil things because it takes place during a particular part of the story.
Pretty sure most of the side characters have more lines in this entirely separate multiplayer campaign than the main game
My friend told me its setting contained story spoilers, so I'm saving myself for a while.
It takes place after Chapter 13, though past that it's fine to play in terms of spoilers. Not that it matters much since that's right before endgame.
To be honest this game could be plausibly beaten in 20 hours at around level 40-50, so it's not like you have to hold off for too long unless you want to do most of the stuff you can prior to beating the game.

Thanks for answering. I'm a bit disappointed I can't check out everyone up close. :(
The guy who made the fix for Nier Automata made a fix for XV too. Apparently the game calls the steam api an absurd amount of times every second causing stuttering and slow loading times. You can get it here
Does anyone else suffer from permanent framerate drops when using summons? The only way I'm able to fix it is by either returning to main menu and reloading or restarting the game completely.
Actually, I'm suffering from a peculiar issue I had from the demo.
Sometimes, when backing out of something like the Regalia's menu screen, loading a game, or after camping, my performance nose dives to 20 FPS and stays there.
I thought it was Hairworks at first because I had turned it on for the heck of it, but the issue still happened with it off. I also thought it was the Hi-Res pack (Assets setting), but again it happened with it off.
However, fixing it is a simple as going into the Graphics menu and changing a setting. After doing so, performance jumps back up to what it should be.
I have no idea what's causing this, but if you too are suffering from it, just go into the Graphics menu and change a setting.
As a side note, if you can't use the Highest TRAM setting without stuttering (having 4 GB VRAM or less), don't bother with the Hi-Res pack. Its current implementation seems to be bugged if you don't use the "Highest" setting, as texture pop-in and fidelity is overall much worse on High or lower with it enabled than with it disabled.
I can't fucking believe that in the new version [sp] They didn't change the stupid fucking "Insomnia Falls" thing.
Like. Newspaper. Still. Really? They'd be able to fucking hear it from where they are easily. It's still so awful.[/sp]
Anyone else get huuuge frame drops when looking at the leaves of a tree because that instantly melts my computer

Fucking thank you. You cut down my damn initial load in down from like 3 minutes down to 20 seconds. Again, thank you.
If anyone else finds the terrain blending artifacts (mostly around roads) as annoying as me, I made a mod to help with that: http://steamcommunity.com/app/637650/discussions/0/1697167355212583021

I'm playing on a PS4, but I hope this helps people playing on PC.
Couple of interesting bits of info on the PC port.
1. Outside of maybe a 6% slower loading time, Denuvo does not negatively affect performance in any way.

2. Digital Foundry has started their coverage on the PC port. Shadows, TAA and Model LOD seem to be the most taxing settings outside of Gameworks, with VXAO being the most taxing Gameworks setting. Most of the games settings really only shine at resolutions higher than 1080p.

Personally, I've found Turfworks to be more demanding than VXAO in most scenarios, but I'm also running a GTX 970, so ymmv.
on my 1080 i get no performance hit from turfworks but upto 10fps loss from vxao but shadows are more cpu taxing ? so my old cpu might be the cause
i think the most questionable setting is hairworks it looks really nice but it causes fps drops when its most important, i think it would be nice if you could adjust the level of tessalation
you pretty much have to use TAA, fxaa or nothing causes massive shimmering on foliage

I haven't had any fps changes with hairworks surprisingly but you're right in that TAA is almost required. FXAA or no AA at all looks awful. Everything looks blurry.

Amazing.
God fuck I ran into an invisible wall about 80% of the way through Pitioss Ruins, thought I'd have to reload a save from the start
Thankfully it fixed itself after redoing that one section like five times
Hey all--just looking for a video for a friend, it came out shortly after the game's release. It's the one where the Regalia transforms into a flying vehicle and immediately hits a light pole and crashes. If i remember right, it wasn't tricked out much and was still black. Does anyone have a link to that video?
Probably not these but it's something that hilariously happens often
