I feel like pressing the button would be a lot better than simply holding it down especially when it comes to blocking and parrying
Don't have the game so typing this out with memory:
Triangle for Warp Strike, HOLD for Point Warp. Holding the button will guarantee a point warp instead of accidental "non-locked" warp strike.
Square for Roll Dodge, HOLD for Evasion / Parry / Shield. More often than not getting out of an attack is better than wasting your mana evading.
Circle for striking, HOLD to sprint -or- alters your attack if mid-attack. Also used for interacting outside of combat, and to piss off your buddies.
Edit: Forgot that you can hold circle to Blitz. Please make a habit and not do this.
Jump is jump.
Got the steelbox for like 59€, which is still pretty expensive, but way better than the regular Day One edition for like 69€ in another store. :v: Pumped to play it now.
I don't know if it's me but God the atmosphere and travelling around is so chill. When I drive with the car I don't mind the 3 minute travel time I just put a good track on the ost sit back and enjoy the views.
331 minutes to download :'(
What does one do with the paint shards? Obviously it's to make pain but from what I can gather.. I haven't seen a npc that can make it nor a option to do anything with it

Haven't played the game yet, but I guess you can paint your car?

Yeah. You get shards that can be used to make paint or something.

Cindy does the customisation of the Regalia, the different paint shards are needed for the different colours.

Haven't gotten the option to even use them. Haven't seen a option either.

You're probably too early in the game then.
I like how I did this stupid Roadtrip thing for my codes from Amazon & Squenix and 2 out of the 3 codes I got sent don't even work and say they've been redeemed.
It's really nice they included the other soundtracks to the other FF games. Makes driving the regalia really enjoyable
Do you need to keep wait mode on in order to see whatever weakness enemies have? It's really annoying to have the game pause whenever you stand still.

It is Cindy.
She paints your car.
iirc you have to buy the color collection thing from the store in hammerhead. It costs 3000gil I believe.

Ok I can't remember this because
1. I never play the game in wait mode because it DESTROYS the flow of battle.
2. Scanning your enemies (called Libra) has been changed multiple times during development so I am confused what is the current version.
If I'm right, you need Ignis' Analyze skill in kick in automatically whenever he feels like it. If he doesn't, stall the fight until he does.
Oh man this game finally came out, I worked on it my during my game dev internship, can't be more thankful enough for the opportunity.
Too bad I don't have a PS4/Pro, I guess I will have to wait until it comes out for.... a more powerful device.
Hope you fellas enjoy the game!
Do you remember what you helped out on, out of curiosity?
Do you remember what you helped out on, out of curiosity?
I don't think I can share the specifics, but I do QA and level design feedback.
Not much on the design part since you know, I was an intern.
Cid can upgrade weapons apparently.
The game punched me in the gut and destroyed my heart as soon as i started the second chapter...
What's the driving like?
I'll admit this is one of the main things I'm interested in, is it open world, is it just a fast travel thing?

There's fast traveling. It costs gil to do. Morning i don't think you can drive yourself. Night you can.

Still downloading the patch because of the shitty PSN download speed. I hoped to play it today, but oh well.
Holy shit FFVIII driving music. Please tell me I can get the world map theme

I'm not even mad this happened, when I saw it I was literally laughing out loud and had trouble holding the share button to record a clip
I usualy dont buy full priced game, except gta 5 and mgs 5 in the last few years, would this one worth it?
I really like how English-voiced Ignis sounds a lot like Stuart Brown from RetroAhoy.

Had the same thing happen but it looked even more ridiculous. Ignis was standing on Promptos head, stomping his foot repeatedly.
man maybe it's just been a long time since i've played a PS4 game but FUCK this looks good

Even if the gameplay and overall design seem unpolished or with baffling decisions, this is still a game that's had 5 years of conceptualization, followed by starting development in full in 2011, rebooting the project in 2013, and having metric fucktons of budget Kojima wished he had for Metal Gear Solid V without (as far as we know) anywhere near the same lockdown or bullshit on the developers. I imagine the biggest development hurdle was finding what they needed to cut for space or system constraints, and constantly changing things around even up towards release.
There's no little pause between a lot of dialog. It's like "quick we must go here" 1 second later " OMG LEGGO"
The system where you dodge objects while running past them is really buggy. I've had Noctis turn into a fucking Tetromino
