I think there needs to be a better indication as to what's about to attack or not. I can be in the middle of a fight and just get hammered by other monsters
How do I get Noctis hair irl?

Inject raw anime directly into your scalp.

Join a J-pop boy band. This will give you a 95% accurate group cosplay of Noctis and his party.
I love how there's a frigging lore explanation for the J-Pop look.
Don't get me wrong, though. I actually like the designs. :v
is this a good game
Oh hey, sidequest dungeon... oh. Okay, good, dungeon staffed by level 7 goblins.
Oh..oh, I'm instantly dead because at the end of one hallway is a level 52 enemy that is the boss of this dungeon that hasn't changed in difficulty. Great

I'm enjoying what I've played so far. Will get back to you.

My god the things so tiny
I really don't get combat in this. I jump into a fight and swing my weapon once only for literally every single enemy in the area to suddenly teleport to me and dogpile me all at the same time stunlocking me up against a rock and beating the hell out of me.
Like I leave most fights with a huge chunk of hp needing to regen while my partners are all pristine and I just don't get it.
The people that jump from that dropship or whatever will kill you in like one hit. It's rather annoying
Well, i've got the game. My brother's PS4 gets the codes and first update, which I have to wait for over half a day on, and then i'll download the update on my system once that's done.
Fucking video games, can't even buy a product and play it immediately anymore.
What's the driving like?
I'll admit this is one of the main things I'm interested in, is it open world, is it just a fast travel thing?
It is on-rails no matter what the press told you.
You will have room to wiggle around along the road if you so desire to run into other cars and walls,
making decisions at forks, U-turns and driving backwards are the most amount of freedom you got.
However I must admit that it has more customization options than most of the racing games I've played. How about the decals?
Later portion of the game you can drive during the day and even have auto-Ignis-pilot at night.

That's actually what I liked most about the game, if you stand in the middle of a pack you are going to get hammered.
Always isolate as much as possible, and learn to read and react to animations.
If you need to clear a pack of small monsters, AoE attacks (other than techniques) are important to know such as Machineries and Greatsword's mini-Tempest.

You don't even have to stand in the middle of a pack to get hammered. I just fought those imperial troops and I had to waste like 10 potions. I was also pretty far away too.
It seems a lot of the combat comes down to situational awareness and overall capability with the occasional level stonewall of pain if you don't tread cautiously, rather than crazy combos (although they're possible if you know how to abuse the Warp right) and raw skill tearing down everything. Remember to use your party members for specials and position yourself for back attacks too, it can do a lot of damage if you set it up right.
Honestly.. it feels like the game punishes you pretty harshly for not using defense.

Huh I found out about them increasing the spawn rates of the imperial troops. Their ranged attacks are a lot more annoying than usual.
If you keep moving, the most of the shots should miss. Always go for the snipers first (the ones with laser sight) because their attacks can knock you down.
Don't hold back against ranged attackers, Warp Strike them down, kill, reposition.
If you are having trouble, maybe it is good time to invest in Ignis' Regroup or Gladio's Taunt.

Oh, is this the case? Yeah. If you almost never touch the Square button, maybe it is time to start doing so.
Remember, is it always preferable to completely dodge an attack than to use mana to phase.

Combat lasts way too long if I have to constantly dodge whatever the Imperial Snipers are using. Plus you get attacked whenever your in the middle of a attack which is beyond annoying.

It also doesn't help that they hit for 50 hp per hit.
I haven't had a problem with combat tho i mash square just as much if not more than circle
Here's a breakdown of how I usually fight (I'm almost always using very slow weapons because they are f-f-fun):
0. Lock onto a target.
1. Warp Strike into a target.
2. Hold Square and move/roll around the target to find an opening (preferably a blindside).
3a. If target attacks, roll out of the way, counter attack.
3b. If target doesn't attack for a while, I'll attack because his pals are going to whack me soon anyways.
4. Always, always know your attacks. Holding directions and timing of your attack button press will unleash different attacks. NEVER BLITZ.
5. If I know I'm going to get attacked mid-animation or while recovering, I'll use a Technique to give me i-frames.
6. Repeat step 2 until target is dead; or reposition if more than 2 enemies are trying to attack me.
If ya want some harsh Dark Souls training, use the Axe of Conquerors. It seems like a shit weapon but once you know how to master it, it isn't toooo bad (still a trash tier Royal Arm tho)
lately, during battles, I've just been awkwardly positioning my hands so one finger is holding down the square button and another is mashing circle. It's been working pretty well.
I can now enjoy some of my fav FFXV music at the comfort of my own home.

How is this a complaint? 'I let myself get hit and it hurts!'
Oh hey they have FF13 music in the Regalia.
It wasn't that great of an FF game but damn did I love the music.
When can you start getting new outfits for the group? All of my group still have their basic outfits + the casual outfits.
When can you start getting new outfits for the group? All of my group still have their basic outfits + the casual outfits.
Eh... No idea. You can't buy outfits and two additional outfits are given to you when you complete certain chapters.
The rest are preorder / collector editions I suppose.
God, the amount of stuff to do in this game is so overwhelming. I'm like 13 hours in, and feel like I've barely scratched the surface.
I catch a small fish and Gladio says, "Puny, just like yours." Fucking savage, dude, man. I just wanted to fish.
My advise if you want to have a good time doing side activities:
Keep doing main missions until you get the option to sidetrack and get your Chocobo (I won't spoil which Chapter but it is rather early)
Once you get your mount, going anywhere becomes much enjoyable.
As of today i started putting money aside for a PS4, was on the fence for a long time
I feel like I'm using Gladio's techniques too much during battles. Ignis and Prompto don't seem to do much.
