Holy shit if you fly high enough your rotors will freeze off. [editline]29th January 2015[/editline]
Man, I really like how your bomb behaved (almost exactly like a real one too). You could probably make a very effective and accurate bomber with that kind of payload.

Holy shit that's amazing. I can't even build a plane like that in KSP.
that's really cool. i must be missing something though; how do you rotate parts? whenever i try to use wings they go on in the weirdest directions

Made an engine thing with springs. Inspired by Tmaxxs engine
now all you need is a drill bit [editline]30th January 2015[/editline] i've been having a blast making mobile trebuchets
now all you need is a drill bit [editline]30th January 2015[/editline] i've been having a blast making mobile trebuchets
Next up is making big one.
[t]http://puu.sh/ffcfR.jpg[/t] This is the most complex thing I've made that actually worked to any degree. It's not exactly the same, since I deleted the stuff for the bomb before I saved it earlier, and only just now added the bomb stuff back on to take a screenshot, but that's what I used to beat zone 15. :v:
What is the secret of making a catapult that does not spontaniously explode as soon as the arm moves?
What is the secret of making a catapult that does not spontaniously explode as soon as the arm moves?
it's really hit and miss. a lot of great catapults and trebuchets can explode when attempting to fling the bomb because the bomb is a physics item resting inside of the bowl; it's not actually seated in a perfect position. If it rolls around in the bowl then it can explode and take the whole weapon with it. that doesn't mean that your catapult is defective. you just have to learn when to toss the rock and/or how much sensitivity/force you need to get it to not explode in your face
Because of this, I like to use grabbers for my catapults instead of holders - also makes them much easier to reload.
Maybe they fixed it but in the first version grabbers snapped off at any amount of pressure. Like, the very moment you start contracting the springs, it snapped off. That made them unusable for me.
I'd love if we could attach bombs directly to grabbers in build mode, would make a lot of things much, much easier.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/lIFQDPo.png[/t] [editline]a[/editline] Using this for the lumberyard scenario was funny as hell.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/lIFQDPo.png[/t] [editline]a[/editline] Using this for the lumberyard scenario was funny as hell.
That's because yours is a catapult, mine was a slingshot. As soon as the springs start to contract (attached to an explosive bolt which is in turn attached to the grabber), the grabber popped off.
I'm sharing my catapult with wagon for everyone to download if anyone wants to check up, controls are 'z' and 'x' for the arm if you need to adjust it, 'c' is the firing and 'v' releases the hold. As soon as the springs start to contract (attached to an explosive bolt which is in turn attached to the grabber), the grabber popped off.
[del]You sure that wasn't just the wooden beams of the bolt snapping under load?[/del] My slingshot also worked with a grabber :v: [t]http://i.imgur.com/MAocVGr.png[/t] (pardon the double-compression - had to take a screenshot of the video I recorded of it, since I forgot to save it before quitting) [editline]a[/editline] Edited: misinterpreted what you meant by explosive bolt, haha. [editline]a[/editline] Out of sheer curiosity I tried to recreate what you describe (Springs>e-bolt>grabber), and the only thing detaches is the explosive bolt from the slingshot frame itself - seems they're not attached very sturdily. The grabber stayed attached to the bolt, and the slingshot still functioned admirably. [t]http://i.imgur.com/9k9iD1S.png[/t]

I also want this so I can make a giant foot that shoots the bomb to the enemy like a explosive deadly soccer ball.
If they added rope, that would be nice too, would allow us to make trebuchets. We would actually need more than just rope now that I think about it.. -Rope -Net -Hook
i haven't enjoyed a video game for a while holy shit
The grabber stayed attached to the bolt, and the slingshot still functioned admirably.
Guess they fixed it, again it was on 0.01.
If they added rope, that would be nice too, would allow us to make trebuchets. You could make a train and re-enact that scene in Metro Last Light where [sp]an armored plow-train slices through every wall ever.[/sp] I could make a towed glider-bomb! The possibilities!
Just a tip for anyone. If you want to build a bomb right onto a grabber, it's really easy. Build a explosive bolt wherever you want your grabber to go. Attach a bomb to it. Delete the explosive bolt, replace with a grabber. There you go, instant bomb grabber
Guess they fixed it, again it was on 0.01.
That was 0.01 though dude. I have both 0.01 and 0.02 installed, and I did all that on 0.01. [editline]a[/editline] IE before they renamed the E-bolt to the 'decoupler' or 'detacher', or whatever it is now.

Is there any way to get the game on steam if you originally brought it via humble bundle?
Not yet but there will be.
