Proof of concept for the tank treads I made. Unbreakable is on, but if I used braces for most of the joins the treads would be unlikely to break in motion normally. Also, tread has a little too much slack not to mention it tips over (need to build second one) after a short distance.

In that case, I'm not sure it's entirely possible yet. And I've tried quite a few times.
Making a proper propeller either generated so much torque that it obliterates itself, or generates so little thrust as to not be useful.
Once they let you make counter-rotating props, then I'm sure it'll be easy.
Someone needs to make an engine using cannons.
as requested (crossposting my oc from lmao pics)
After all these besieged videos im surprised someone hasn't made an NVidia card that catches on fire and then explodes

That's old though.
They should make an NVidia card where the last sixth* is just empty inside.
I tried to make this when I saw the original post.
It ended up being so big that it almost ignited my actual GPU.
So I noticed pistons and retractable springs do some interesting shit together.

I think I found the fastest way to travel and it happens to be swastikas.
Now I just have to figure out how to build something useful with this...
attach flamethrowers, now it's useful
attach flamethrowers, now it's useful
I actually did that right after I posted the video :v:
It's still super useless until I figure out how to steer with it though.
I managed to make a flying machine by having only three forward facing propellers on a frame attached to a speeding car. I detatch from the car once up to speed to shed the weight and the plane can easily fly but I have no idea how I'm going to steer it.

Like a real plane obviously. This thing controls REALLY well its just I suck at controlling it
[editline]4th February 2015[/editline]
Has functional Ailerons, rudder, and elevator.

It would be really cool for someone from the dev team to talk here, like what happens in the Space Engineers thread.

space engineers is really wise in doing a video for every update; they keep you interested in new features

I think one of them did post a little while after the thread started, but he hasn't been here since.

I made a windmill, powered by a spring engine (who's idea I totally didn't borrow from tmaxx)

Look at you guys with your fancy machines.
edit:
Wish Australia didn't have such shitty internet, otherwise I'd make a larger video of all the retarded shit I made.

God damn it. I made the tracks not wide enough on mine. That explains it.

EDIT: Made a double-tracked version based on your design. The game runs at 3 fps, totally not worth it.

There needs to be some ability to designate a section of blocks as a solid body (or maybe a friendly-only nocollide function), anything remotely ambitious lags like hell for me because of all the minute collisions that are impossible to discern.
[vid]http://home.tamk.fi/~e4jsalon/chaosengine.webm[/vid]
/v/ came up with something truly horrifying, a flame ball connected to sawblades. It creates an enormous amount of torque.

Damnit, the one month I see a game that I'd actually buy is the one month I have my paycheck coming in late
Buying it asap , but then the thread is probably dead
really have some great ideas

Someone made a really nice plane without using Wings or Flying Blocks.
[vid]http://home.tamk.fi/~e4jsalon/chaosengineicewall.webm[/vid]
The chaos engine can breach the ice wall.
And can be harnessed for podracing.

Just to give you an idea of how powerful this shit is. It's ridiculous.
Also, paradox bombs.

I really want to be bind multiple keys to parts. At the moment, my control scheme is "Wheels on the left: forward 7, back 4. Wheels on the right: forward 9, back 6" so to go forward I press 7 + 9 and to turn left I press 4 + 9 etcetera. I just want to have all wheels go forward with one key, then another key controlling a subset of them
basic plane i made

up arrow to accelerate, numpad 2 4 6 8 to steer, numpad 7 9 to release left bomb and right bomb
I love how the whole community has this natural scientific progression. Go back a few pages and we couldn't even make a quadcopter work. Now we've got bombers, cowboy robots with revolvers and now the motherfucking chaos engine which breaks through the ice barrier which the devs put in specifically to stop us going that high
E: oh yeah and paradox bombs

I feel like a bit of a cargo cult here because my chaos engine looks right but nothing is happening
Basic quadrotor
coudn't be arsed to develop a proper control system right now it's just up arrow to lift, v to bomb and 2 4 6 8 to tilt
