chaos is fun
I'm surprised nobody made a rube goldberg style machine yet. or I just haven't found any.
The fact that you can't select a bunch of blocks and then move/rotate them yet makes me sad
Ok, I don't pay attention to this game for about a week and suddenly everyones talking about a chaos engine.
What is that?
Starting to get boring is what it is.
Welp.
Did it

So you made tankfactory? That is amazing.

Basically harnessing torque of stacked spinning blades, with a flaming ball attached for shits and giggles :v:

Take a ball of flaming antimatter. Grab it using a grabber. Then stick that on a stack of circular saws.
You now have a literal jet-engine producing ungodly amounts of power. Use it however you see fit.

Putting something heavy on top - like the flame ball, bomb or spiky ball - seems to amplify its power:

The one on the right looked more chaotic the 3rd time you tried them both.

please don't make a post like this if you build the propeller on the wrong side
I've spent about 4 hours trying to do this:
It's a takeoff platform in which the aircraft pivots down backwards, so the rear grabber latches onto the chaos engine, gaining power, then the grabber is released, and the "holding-in-place" locks are released, and the aircraft flys away (aiming into the air).
I can't just seem to get the engineering right. As it stands I've set it to drop the rear weight once it has gained power, but as soon as it takes off it almost instantly loses all power.
Would somebody take the .bsg to see if they can complete it/get it working?

Are you sure it's just not enough power for the mass? People are using multiple chaos engines for big buildings since the mass:power sweetspot seems to lie at about 3-4 sawblades per fire orb. Might just be very quickly losing power once disconnected.
In regards to chaos engines, the saws provide the rotation, but whats the fireball for?
In regards to chaos engines, the saws provide the rotation, but whats the fireball for?
Mostly for show, but it does help shift the center of gravity.
In regards to chaos engines, the saws provide the rotation, but whats the fireball for?
The fire.
So I built the double track tank and left space enough in the middle to fit some weapons.
Yeah, it's going to need some work; it is just too laggy. Running at 30% I was only getting 15 FPS, and my computer is still pretty high end (doubles as workstation for CAD)
So yeah, dual track tanks (and therefore non-throwing tracks) are unfeasible unless there is some serious optimization done. I'll try another design, but the first one is just too much for the game.
Starting to get boring is what it is.
Exactly, the whacky methods were fun, but now everyone is doing the same thing (chaos engines) which is really unimpressive.
In regards to chaos engines, the saws provide the rotation, but whats the fireball for?
I think it could be weight?
In regards to chaos engines, the saws provide the rotation, but whats the fireball for?
The sawblades are the twisted engine
The fireball is the chaotic fuel
I'm beginning to think you guys just like saying "chaos engine."
I'm beginning to think you guys just like saying "chaos engine."
Chaos engine chaos engine, CHAOS ENGINE! Chaos engine? Chaos engine.
Oh we do.
Disorder machine?

what you gonna do wanna fite abowt it

I see what you did there.

Someone should edit that Fucking Machines webm with Chaos engine.
My decoupler isn't working, it only works for like the first 3 seconds, but after that it becomes unresponsive (set to 1 on the keyboard)
Could anyone give me a hand? Here is the bsg

Have you tried using the chaos engine?
