So apparently somebody made a Siege Tank.

(I only rated late because I've seen that done multiple times, sorry)
I kind of wish flamethrowers had a better range, since it always feels like the flames are too close to your machines but don't catch enough soldiers/buildings on fire.

Yes, that's what the clock rating is for, no need to explain.
Unless you're one of those idiots who gives L8's to SH threads because they saw the same story ten minutes ago on Facebook

Question.
Those hinge blocks that turn the legs into supports.
How the FUCK are they working.
[editline]fdgkjh[/editline]
I just came up with an idea for the next update:
The ability to stick things on the ends of those propeller blades now that the outer roots are flat. The logical use would be to extend the length of the blade to make proper helicopters. The actual use would be sticking spikes on the ends of your propellers :v:.
I won't be impressed until I see a fully working scientific calculator made in Besiege :v:

Lag's a very real limit in Besiege tho.
Calculators are neat in games like the original LittleBigPlanet but I just don't see them working out too well in games like Besiege.
Just picked up this gem, i'm really bad at building things, and I got no clue how to make all the really rad stuff you guys do. I have to say my most wonderful invention is this catapult that breaks itself better than it does the standing stone.

Haha, they're kind of like "yay you did it ya retard"
I decided to make a pirate airship today.

Second version that can drop bombs

(Had to enable invincibility at the start because balloons were popping for no reason)
(Had to enable invincibility at the start because balloons were popping for no reason)
To get around that, turn invincibility off and start your simulation really slow (5%). When the balloons have themselves situated, bump the speed back up and they should be okay.
Also I really wish Besiege had a "stress test" mode. This is just a rough mockup of what I mean:

I tried slowing the timescale. All it showed me is that the balloons that did pop were mostly random.
No matter though, I made a more practical assault platform based on the pirate ship design. Took out all six major structures in the sandbox and cleared every level with it.

This somehow inspired me to make an tank-thing with absolutely no wooden parts.
Left pic. - Armored Up.
Right pic. - Skeleton. It's actually very simple on the inside.
[t]http://puu.sh/geMZt/a060dca171.png[/t]
Video of it in action, it can survive bombs easily. As far as I can tell from testing, it's pretty much invincible to explosives, lasers, arrows, and is completely fireproof.

This makes me wonder about the possibility of building things with ballasts instead of blocks...
Edit: yup.
However, my idea to additionally carry two bombs and release them to roll off of the vehicle resulted in knocking some parts off - it still worked, but the camera went berserk.

That's pretty fucking cool man
Yeah metal constructs are pretty damn durable, but metal is heavier than wood, so big constructions will need more power to move around and, if you use them, more braces to hold even heavier components together.

I wish there was a slider-track part with attachments along the edges for braces, so you could have long slider tracks with a single wooden block moving along it
So I made a mario style airship:
[vid]http://a.pomf.se/vteqjq.webm[/vid]
It features front and side cannons, four flying blocks for some relative directional control and a bomb because I like my vehicles to blow up in a blaze of glory should they crash. Surprisingly, I was able to fit it within the bounding box so it can actually be used to complete levels.
The only issue is that lowering your altitude can be a bit tricky. The only real way to do it is to enter free fall and then recover.

This exactly, I was slightly disappointed to see how the sliders were when they were added, I saw someone on the besiege forum make a really good suggestion for a metal like slider.
This would maybe make freefloating arm trebuchets a lot easier andmore practical, unlike the huge one I have.

I'm gonna be honest, I had to think for a second as to how something like that was moving. Then I felt like an idiot a second later.
