Do chaos engines still work after the updates? (I thought they switched the game over to Unity 5, dunno if that affects the physics at all)

Just finished my first fully working steam engine. It's quite convoluted and really weak, but I actually managed to make it (slowly) move forward.
Steam Engines may be fairly useless, but holy shit they're cool looking in motion.

I got tired of my helicopters using tons of those tiny propeller things for steering, so I made one that uses weight transfer instead.
Mine does that too. I really need joystick inputs and limits on axes in order to fly it for more than 30 seconds though. Yours looks doable with a keyboard.

Pirate Ship wars are pretty fun if you have someone else to play against.
(Infinite Ammo, free build, only wheels allowed to touch the ground are the caster things)

Fire is a bit overpowered, so half the design is fireproofing everything.

Oh hey I'm not the only one who uses contra rotating props

It's pretty hard to make anything that doesn't use contrarotating props that doesn't spin out of control.
It's pretty hard to make anything that doesn't use contrarotating props that doesn't spin out of control.
The first version of the chopper had a toggleable tailwheel and a single rotor, it was still flyable, albeit slightly unweidly and hard to trim. Changing rotor pitch changes the rpm it runs at so it'd rotate slightly left or slightly right depending on if you were climbing/falling.

Violent perpetual motion device (it abuses the gravity things)
aaaand it's a swastika murder machine
Oh I didn't even notice :excited:
Bump with content,

A steam powered hovercraft that I made.
I bought this last year so I could get it cheap while it's still in development but I haven't properly played it yet. Seems like development is kinda slow.
Yeah development has been rather slow, the most recent thing they added was rockets.
The second map is complete now. The new challenges they added are pretty fun.
Also is there any way to make a Chaos Engine powered car that doesn't just do flips or tear itself apart because of the amount of torque? With planes you can just have contra-rotating propellers, but contra-rotating tires wouldn't really work.
Today's update is pretty neat. They added a crossbow block, a vacuum block, and a Log block. (It's just a bigger piece of wood for large scale constructions)

Well, that looks amazing. I wonder what changed? I know they initially said it was impossible due to the amount of physics objects.

Damn I made this post like a year ago and I still haven't played it

First Multiverse Dev Blog is out. Mostly deals with how physics simulation will work
I spent quite some time tonight building various battlebots in preparation for this update
Battlebots and racing are both going to be great.
So I'd say this is worth bumping, the multiplayer update plus map editor have been released.

Battlebots tournaments when? :v:
I made a thread in GiP to set up a battlebots tournament.
Probably still needs some better thought out rules.

Also the trigger on my battlebox to open the pit doesn't work, if anyone wants to have a look at it.
edit: fixed the pit trigger
Speaking of level editor, I just finished up making an arena-style pvp map with tons of features (primarily because most of the arena maps available have been extremely disappointing to me), it was made with battle bots in mind so if you're needing a fix for a decent map with tons of traps and shit have a lookey.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1232557252
did a shit ton of testing to refine things but holler if you notice anything out of place (none of the traps are player activated because lets face it, machines in this game are super clunky and slow, so I've made it all automated.)
I just picked this up in the sales, having a blast with it so far. Although I am struggling to get a working plane built, tried following some of the guides on steam but ended up spinning around a lot :v: might have to revisit them and see what I am doing wrong.
Half the fun so far has just been building really stupid machines just to see if they work.
[editline]28th December 2017[/editline]
Before I knew the game had flying machines I passed the mission where you have to kill the flock of birds by taking the holder off a big catapult and just attaching flamethrowers to the arm instead. Amazing.
Bought this game years ago, haven't touched it really since. There's water vehicles now?
Darnit, I went and cleaned up my puush account, and sorta forgot about all these webm files I've embedded in this thread.
I'll have to reupload and edit all my posts. Oh well!

The water maps aren't really water, it's just a low friction blue rectangle across the bottom of the map.

I've reuploaded them to YouTube for archival, if anyone cares.
