So, I managed to succeed to a degree, it's pretty exciting! My problem with the avatar not showing up in the menus was solely due to me using the wrong version of Unity. I do have a few more snags that maybe I could get some advice on; [t]https://i.imgur.com/6HG1QpV.png[/t] The first issue is that my avatar's feet are slightly in the ground, I've been trying to adjust the model's position in unity via transform, but from as small as a .01 adjustment, to as great as a 2.0 adjustment, I am still stuck in the ground. [t]https://i.imgur.com/J2s7seQ.png[/t] The second problem is that the avatar's mouth hangs agape even when I'm muted and I don't fully grasp how the lip sync and jaw bone settings in Unity work. The third being the spikey hair, I opened the the TGA files in GIMP to see if I could change the textures to be transparent, but they already are, so I am not sure what's up with that. Again, I haven't touched this kind of stuff before, so I'm sorry if I'm asking a lot of dumb questions.

Not sure how to fix that. The mouth problem is pretty common. You can just rotate the jaw bone up by the difference in vrchat. So looking at that just now I'd say rotate it around 20 degrees up and see how that looks. Lipsync and such I haven't dabbled with myself so I can't help you there either. As for the hair, you gotta change the rendering mode to cutout instead of opaque.
Ya gotta go on configure rig and change the chest bone to whatever bone the shoulders and neck is connected to.
Neck is on the neck bone and shoulders are on LShoulder and RShoulder...not sure what to do there chest is on spine2
Neck is on the neck bone and shoulders are on LShoulder and RShoulder...not sure what to do there chest is on spine2
If you have a spine 3 or 4, change chest to the highest number. Upper chest should be changed to 'None'.
That's not a problem with the model. You have to set your height in VRChat AND make sure you set the view point in the right place in Unity, lined up with and between the eyes and just forward of the ears, depending on the model of course.
I've done that and I've played with both heights - it works fine on other avatars, just not this one :s:
Guys watch out, there's some people out there who can do some nasty shit to you at the moment. People around me are basically telling me just to not log in at the moment (User was banned for this post ("Don't link to it" - Orkel))

Being stuck partly in the ground isn't a huge deal to me compared to the other problems. So far I've been able to fix the hair as well as other parts of the textures thanks to you, but I am still stuck with the hanging jaw despite my adjustments. Even with changes taking effect in Unity, it doesn't do anything in VRchat itself. On top of this, my model is apparently invisible to everyone but myself, which is weird. My friend said I was a red ghost for a time, and whenever I swapped between the public models and it, I would just remain as the previous public model, he can see the preview image for it in the Social tab though. Edit: I'm reading a tutorial on how to fix the jaw, so that's hopefully one problem down. Edit 2: Jaw still busted. And my arm is busted apparently, or sometimes busted.
I'd say the Cul-de-Sac is about ready now. There's working music, secrets, pickups "chunky puffs, jawbreakers, jujubes, bricks, etc" and other stuff. It took a while to port, but I think it was worth it. I'm in the process of making this world public now. Maybe by tomorrow it'll be official. [editline]16th January 2018[/editline] Oh shit apparently it's already public? That was fast. [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/hiippl.png[/t] [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/hiippl.png[/t] Well have fun guys.
Well have fun guys.
Holy shit Ed Edd n Eddy Online is now an actual thing
Holy shit Ed Edd n Eddy Online is now an actual thing
The ultimate goal? To get a single quarter for a jawbreaker. And there should be like a hidden quarter in the instance at a time, so that everyone would fight over it.
[t]https://my.mixtape.moe/kqikkn.png[/t] [t]https://my.mixtape.moe/acxgyc.png[/t] This is fun
My first experience with this game so far has been loading into a bar with the most genetic cop avatar I could port over and getting asked where I was when a small anime girl was being violated earlier. I think I'll be getting asked that a lot. I've also been having an issue where I have to keep verifying my email address every time I try to log in, is that probably just because the servers are under heavy load from all the new players or something?
Plan on getting a headset next paycheck, not sure which to get though. I hear either Vive or Oculus with 3 sensors.

Ive been taking naps in vr

Get a Rift and use the money you save on the actual headset to get a third sensor and some accesories. The controllers are nicer too. Honestly, the only downside to the rift is the cable management since if you're using a 3 sensor setup then the thing takes up 4 individual USB ports so chances are you'll need to get a PCI USB 3.0 card. They're don't cost much and work well. You'll mainly only be missing out on Bethesda's shitty ports by going with a Rift so that's not a big loss and even those mostly work with the rift with some tinkering. Most games support both headsets and the ones that don't explicitly say they support the Rift at least work pretty well with it, H3VR comes to mind as the standout example.
Got in a server and found some chilean boys, we had a blast, spoke to some brazilian dudes and learned french from a quebec dude, then the room was raided by club penguin penguins Also found out the panties on my Ryuko model got decimated by auto-decimate........
these two random knuckle avatars loaded in and wern't attached to a player. I decided to give them steak and alcohol as they hovered in the corener. [t]https://i.imgur.com/RGvWzuJ.jpg[/t]
The Ed, Edd, N' Eddy server is the most fun I've had in VRChat holy shit.
It's the fucking apocalypse in the cul-de-sac.
Would it work with a USB 3.0 hub, or is PCI card mandatory?
a hub won't work because the devices have to be powered via usb and the bandwidth sharing can cause tracking issues iirc
Is there a way to use Google Cardboard as your headset?
I've heard of some people using some experimental apps to get that to work, so it might be possible. Don't expect anything particularly good though :v:
standing in front of a mirror with vr shouldnt be this fun, but it is
I think I'm going to put my little foray into Avatar making to rest. Most of the tutorials I've tried looking through to fix the problems don't seem to properly explain everything for someone with no experience, or they just don't have a noticeable effect. I don't know enough about Unity and model-making, so I'm just going to stick with Avatars provided by other worlds for now. I did learn some things at least! So thank you again Hogie bear for all of your help!

Played for a number of hours last night, decided to check out this club people kept talking about in the VR /vg/ thread. Was fuckin awesome, had a multicolored dance floor, infinitely respawning glowsticks, and sick beats, which meant it was absolute heaven for my drunk ass. There was only a Nanachi, some scantily-clad anime lady, and Solaire in the club at first, but they were all super chill. Solaire started funkilling by stealing the glowsticks and chucking them across the room, and no amount of sun praising would stop his rampage. At some point, a person with a creepy ghost Miku avatar came in, had that shit where they would only appear when you were close to them, and kept appearing behind people trying to scare them. I like to think I ruined a bit of their fun because I kept trying to dance with them (emphasis on "try"). A spooky knuckles joined saying the usual meme shit, but he was cool so whatever. Then we all went on a ghost-led adventure to a world with a huge open field and a giant tree. We found a sword in a house nearby and chopped the giant ass tree down, twice. Second time something went horribly wrong and the tree shot off into the distance at lightspeed once chopped. Then we went to that wild west map and played a few rounds. I got really into it, feuded with a catgirl for reasons beyond comprehension, then got teleported to a tower off to the side where my local VR frenemy was waiting. Despite this being a spectator area (I assume), him and another anime chick had guns. Which they used on me. A lot. I resurrected every time, but damn was it confusing. Was quite the experience though, crazy shit like this happens every time I play and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Well, if you like getting drunk in VR then you gotta come join us on a pub crawl.
