EUREKA! [editline]10th February 2018[/editline] just make the fist emote play the desk slam sound at 400 db
The SDK automatically reduces audio source volume (the latest update reduces it more than before, and also reduces the distance now) before you can click upload though. The Gluon Gun just isn't the same anymore :(

Hey whoever readin this add me on VRChat, just Jojje I played earlier today but basically nobody was on, either that or I have no FP goons to play with
Ported a church from some RTS/Life sim game, spend a ton of time cleaning up all the meshes and adding shit to it. [t]https://puu.sh/zl1wS/bb18bf5869.jpg[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/zl1vV/6890dc9335.jpg[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/zl1uH/46c6896058.jpg[/t] Still got some polishing left to do and fix some smoothing and lighting issues.
My Dark Souls models would look great here :V Is this public now?
Nah, im pretty sure rooms need to be approved to go public, though there is still some stuff I really need to add, light probes as such, cause a lot of the lighting is baked you'd look the same throughout the whole building eventhough theres a lot of different light.

I noticed the whole meme craze on this game died down, so I wanted to try it out it's really tough however because of a few things 1) People using screen-cover avatars 2) getting really sick from people using screen covering avatars 3) don't really have a good avatar to use https://sketchfab.com/models/5d6cf4ac140a4138af9e5682f2d7de46 I was gonna use this avatar because it was actually pretty adorable, however I heard pepe avatars are bannable and i couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get it uploaded. I like really simple characters that aren't really from a game (Whenever I use avatars from games the references n jokes people make kind of get annoying, but thats not really that bad) not really sure what i should do about my avatar
You could always make one yourself, it's simple enough.
isnt there a vrchat sdk going around that can go past the limit?
i think but that's an asshole thing to do
I'd like to thank Afromana for letting me know that reason all my avatars had a washed out look was because Unity renders .dds textures weirdly. Switched them all to .tga as per his advice and they look much better. Only problem is some textures with lots alpha don't render properly.
i think but that's an asshole thing to do
not really? tri count really doesnt affect performance in this game, like, at all. the main factor in performance is number of materials, to be honest. a model with 85k tris but like 1 or 2 materials will perform way better than a 14k model with 50 bajillion materials on it (LIKE EVERY MMD MODEL)

Correct - using contrast corrected .dds: Fucked up - using .tga:
I was told two straps would be enough for the tracker on the waist for full body tracking, but...who on earth are they talking about? Children? I put the two together and connected them in front of me and it is essentially the waist of a child, at best. The fuck. Now I need to jury rig something as an alternative. Just wrapping it around a belt isn't secure enough, the wobble causes the model to freak out.
More than likely the .tga doesn't have the alpha
That's what I figured. If I can't use .dds because the colors become washed out and I can't use .tga because the the alphas are lost what can I use that preserves the alpha? [editline]11th February 2018[/editline] I know basically fuck all about this sort of stuff.

[editline]11th February 2018[/editline] I know basically fuck all about this sort of stuff.
.tga supports alphas. In the conversion process it just lost the alpha somehow. Just make a new alpha channel and paste it over. Photoshop can do that easy.

I don't get that option. I couldn't even open a .dds with Photoshop without tracking down nvidia's DDS loader.
I personally use the Intel one, perhaps it'll work better for this. http://gametechdev.github.io/Intel-Texture-Works-Plugin/
I got a Vive a few days ago and have been having blast in this game. What are some cool worlds to hang about? I've just been trying out some random worlds, most of them are a proper mess of ppl and browsing worlds isn't really that convenient. I'm guessing it's also a lot of luck just what kind of ppl are in a world at the time
i think but that's an asshole thing to do
Not really. Modern GPU's (especially ones that can run VR) are more then capable of handling millions of triangles. draw call wise, it only takes one call for a mesh, while for a material your looking at 3 or more calls depending on if unity supports packed bitmap files (I have not looked but I assume it does)
Sorry for being out of the loop but were scripting/minigames added to VRChat yet? I have nothing against standing around with friends talking but I've been waiting until there's more to do before I jump in
I personally use the Intel one, perhaps it'll work better for this. http://gametechdev.github.io/Intel-Texture-Works-Plugin/
Thanks! That was exactly what I needed.

I have nothing against standing around with friends talking but I've been waiting until there's more to do before I jump in
There was a Death Run world uploaded xth time ago. Played it for a couple hours with /vrg/ the other day and it was a lot of fun. However, at the end we experienced a bug where no Deaths spawned so it endlessy looped after a while until we quit. Another annoying bug (potentially to prevent abuse or cheating) is you can't put down any portals, so once that bug happens you have to join off eachother. There's also a huge Monopoly world that will get hectic super fast and we immediately stopped playing it because of obvious reasons. Beside player-made worlds there's the vanilla stuff like CTF, laserdics, etc.
Can someone tell me why the right leg on this avatar bends out at an odd angle and not the left? Might be hard to tell in the picture but it wants to bend 90 degrees to the side at the hip. I did notice that the leg rigging isn't symmetrical but I'm not sure if that matters and how I need to fix this.
I just found out you can't look at your offline friends list in VRChat anymore. Why'd they remove it?
It was removed because ???? More likely they just broke it as opposed to removing it. I've been having to re-add most people on my friends list.
