Where do all the people who actually have VR hang out in VR chat?
All the places with interesting VR interactions are baren wastelands, yet everybody wants to hang out in a large empty cube?
Animes tend to hang out at the lag-free empty worlds because their MMD models are fucking unoptimized as fuck.
Most decent people hide out in private instances away from the griefers, trolls, avatar rippers, and hackers that have been plaguing the game since January. Even so, you'll find that most people just want to stare at themselves in a mirror. Thus people usually prefer to hang out in very well optimized worlds, like an empty box, as opposed to more complex and interesting worlds.
Most people just want to hang out and chat in VRChat. If I want to have VR experiences beyond that I just play a different game.
I also think that people over-value their avatar exclusivity a bit, which is why you rarely see original people in public servers. Though maybe I'm a bit biased because I haven't seen anyone steal my avatars yet.
Wish public worlds weren't a shithole. Pretty much only play with friends now cause public worlds are so full of crashers.

I'd have to be a mod first :v, wish I could keep public instances clean and such, but they want to keep in-game moderation in-house.
Wait, so people can actually just yank a custom avatar and keep it locally? I didn't know that was a problem, though I haven't been following any VRChat stuff for some time.
