I used to speedrun in left for dead but something happend and I just sort of stopped. Don't really remember what it was.

Love speedrunning... Especially Portal (1). I'm not very good (my single-segment record is ~18:30) but god it's fun. But, Valve just patched Portal 1 about a week ago pretty much breaking (OOB) speedruns, by making the edge glitch significantly more difficult to pull off (it's not gone, just almost impossible to perform consistently). Also, the game frequently freezes up now, esp when quicksaving. Oh, well. Here are some of my favorite speedruns. Most of these videos are on his channel with commentary, along with some humorous videos of how his runs have gotten screwed up.) I don't know about you guys, but I casually speedrun a bunch of games, and recording is for people with good computers or fancy TV gadgets. Anyone have suggestions for good PS2/PS3 games to try out? I've been running ratchet and clank for the past while, but it's starting to get stale.

Speaking of speedruns, have any of you seen that speedrun of OOT by Cosmo in like 23 minutes using a frame skip glitch to teleport through a loading zone to the end of the game? Pretty sick.

Is speedrunning Saints Row 2 a good idea? Always wanted to do it. I mainly got inspired by Fatzke's and Adam's runs of GTA Vice City. Caracarn runs single segment Final Fantasy X every now and then. He currently holds the record at 10:32:07 (that's hours) and regularly dies or resets at pretty much any point during the run. It's an interesting run if you've got almost an entire day to spare. I did it anyway - casually, single-segment. In the order [Prologue;Samedi;Ronin;Brotherhood;Ultor]. I was [b]6 HOURS, 2 MINUTES AND 22 SECONDS IN[/b], just finished "Waste Not Want Not" against The Brotherhood. I wasted most of the time collecting that respect required for starting up missions and just getting around finishing strongholds for the finales. I wanted to call the taxi to drive me to the "Red Asphalt" trigger. The game froze when I picked "PHONE". It just got stuck on the "Homies" selection with nothing showing up. The music played, but nothing was happening, except for the said music and the backscreen swirling as always. I didn't do any saves, hence the single-sitting run. I shit you not - here is the WSplit list, for those doubting the realism of my words. [b]3)[/b] Snatch at Downtown, once completed for the sixth level, grants you an SMG (GAL 43, great gun) combined with unlimited SMG ammo. That's all I have to say for now. I gotta get some sleep.

I did have fun while running SR2. There was a lot of funny stuff going on (like my car randomly flipping itself because of hitting small cliffside rocks or NPCs getting stuck in ceilings a few times), but I'm just a little sad that all the effort went to almost nothing. Almost, because now I know what to improve next time.

I'm thinking of streaming my run at Twitch. Maybe this Monday? GMT +1 zone I mean. Or if everything works out, maybe today, 13:00...?
