And of course I fucking missed it.

You haven't missed much though, Josh still kept resetting and he haven't even done LS part during the whole stream.
how do i get images to show properly in wsplit after inserting them in the "New/Edit" area?
I feel like the only person who thinks that segmented runs are much less entertaining and impressive than single segmented. I don't know, I just don't like watching the segmented Source games. Almost no other games do segmented except Source ones, I find it strange.

Segmented runs aren't really meant to be impressive, they're just the best way of achieving the absolute best time outside of a TAS. Also tons of games are run segmentedly, it's definitely not just Source games.
Been trying out speedrunning in Super Monkey Ball 2.
It's insanely difficult and almost tedious, but that feeling when you take a huge shortcut on a course successfully makes it worth it.

there's a few twitch streamers that run hl2 single segment go watch them.

I always saw segmented runs as a way of mastering the best routes and single segment runs are the challenge of stinging them all together. Single segment runs are cool but they're not as impressive as single segment runs at all.
I find them equally entertaining, since segmented runs have all the best any-amount-of-risk with the highest reward, which is cool to see done (like the companion cube segment of portal), but single segment has to trade off with reliability, since no sane person would attempt the camera-ABH in portal if failing meant having to restart the entire game. There's also the part where a person doing single-segment has to know everything about the run beforehand, where the most foresight a person doing a segmented run is "I need to satisfy condition X by segment 10".
Personally, single-segments are more fun to actually do, since it's basically how I already run games, but segmented runs are more fun to watch because of all the crazy bullshit you can do without worrying about failing (and having to do the same thing 100 times over the course of 10 minutes instead of a few days is a bit too repetitive for me)
Last month I tried speedrunning Pokémon FireRed Version and got 20 hours; absolutely horrible
But I completed Bastion in 25 minutes so that's cool
Is there a word for speed-runs that are done without using any glitches / exploits or changing anything within the game?

Boring?

thatd be so boring though, most speedruns are cool to watch because they break the game. the amnesia run for example would be so boring otherwise

I remember watching a 3 hours speedrun of HL2 in early 2005, without any glitches and exploits. This was hilarious to watch cause for some reason almost all NPCs, like Alyx, were T-posed during walking.
Oh, and Joshimuz just went live again.

Intended route?
On the topic of Joshimuz's speedrun attempt: Before resetting again, he was playing the mission "Burning Desire" when he started chocking on his own saliva, and was thus coughing very hard while inside the burning house. He survived - luckily - and did this all without losing more than a minute-and-a-half.

Cosmo was almost choking on [poppy]cocks a few days ago.

Didn't know this. Thanks for the heads up. I've never seen single segment anything. I know people do segmented of other games, but they're never claimed to be the world record. I wish they specified it in a more obvious place, because I brought up a certain HL world record, and everyone said that was incorrect, then sent me a segmented one. Thanks though!

Segmented and single segment runs are in different categories, you don't compare them. Whoever sent you the segmented run is silly.

I already know this. And this is why I wish they would be more obvious. The first YouTube search for "Half-Life Speed Run" was this video:

It shows it in the description, but I can't blame the guy for not realizing it was done in sections. I guess I would just like it to say "Segmented World Record" or something.
Here's the single segment world record.
Oh, and Coolkid does no scripts hard runs.
I'd say "inb4", but that's a meme and memes are bannable here, so I'll just say that I expect clocks on this post, since I'm posting this real late in the run times.
If you are interested in GTA:SA speedruns and you don't usually check Twitch:
-LotsOfS is setting a 100% Speedrun World Record.
-[del]NiNKortek is attempting to beat the any% Speedrun World Record[/del]. Run over because of failing Interdiction two times.
Last night Ennopp set a world record for 100% Majora's Mask
Can't believe nobody posted my favourite speedrun:

Speaking of cave story runs.

first (completed) run today. My friends have been running this for a few days for kicks and I beat them on my first attempt, I'm so proud of myself.
[editline]17th August 2013[/editline]
PS last cave sucks
On topic of LotsOfS's 100% San Andreas speedrun... he set a world record.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/ApgIlby.png[/thumb]
I doubt that anyone will try to beat it, seeing as it took so long.
17 hours, oh my.
And I thought 9 hours on Vice City 100% speedrun were too long.
so last night cosmo was streaming OoT runs and he was like 18 seconds ahead of his previous time and it looked like he was going to set the WR but then he fucked up and everyone cried.
the chat was so hype though, when he got an -18 split it fucking exploded

He just beat the WR like 30 minutes ago. It was 19:15.69 IIRC.
