Thanks.
driving in gta 4 > driving in gta 5
I don't like driving boats on land thank you
I don't like driving slot cars either thanks
During the tunables slip-up earlier this week, somone has found a new vehicle, the 'Terbyte', that is going to be in a future update after the current round of dripfeed is over.

Given the name is close to 'Terabyte', a unit of storage measurement, I will presume it is likely it will be a wacky futuristic vehicle like the Deluxo, or could just be another electric sports/super.
I love and hate the driving in both games. In IV, the cars felt like they had more weight to them, and the sound effects when you crashed into other cars was great. The bikes, however, were just straight up bad. In V, cars are a lot faster, and handle great. Unfortunately, crashing just sucks. Vehicle deformation was toned down, there's not nearly as much smoke and debris when you hit another car, hitting pedestrians isn't as satisfying, and I don't know how to describe it, but the sound effects when you crash just don't sound right. It's like no matter what you crash into, it sounds like you're hitting a stone wall.
I like actually being able to drive. Its an important part of driving games.
More seriously though, I like parts of how both games do it. GTA IV was nicely weighted and felt amazing when you pulled things off, whereas GTA V is nicely responsive and lets you consistently pull of amazing things. GTA IV driving felt nice just to drive, whereas GTA V driving feels more like it lets you push the driving out of the way to do other nice things. I'd definitely prefer a happy medium between the two, though probably still leaning more towards GTA IV because the way GTA V's vehicles felt like they had little weight or momentum felt pretty wrong.
Although if I'm going for wishlisting vehicle physics, my main want is having the vehicles feel a lot more different in their handling.
My biggest want for the next game is a substantially bigger map - so that vehicles will be appropriately fast to traverse it.
Coming back to GTA from a game like Redout, everything feels very slow or lacks sensation of speed, even in the fastest vehicles in the game. With the existing handling files, if you beefed up the engine power and top speed of cars, they'd be much more of a handful to drive. If anybody drove the Viseris while it was broken, that thing would not turn at speed, it required a lot of attention to be remotely useful on a track with many corners. Its handling wasn't stellar at lower speeds, but it was managable.
I do hope handling files are looked at though, it's nice for each game to have a unique feel, rather than just the last game but a few small things altered.
I've been replaying GTA IV lately, and it definitely feels like a tech demo for the euphoria engine with a lot of the set pieces. You can tell R* had a lot of fun with that stuff. I wish we could go back to when games were physics show pieces. It just seems like an after thought these days.

New event week:
Deluxo, Stromberg, and Thruster special vehicle races are now available and are double cash/RP(along with the other special vehicle races).
Deluxo, Thruster, Stromberg, Blazer Aqua, Ruiner 2000, and Rocket Voltic on sale.
No new vehicles.
Did anyone ever find a fix for that odd, negative mouse acceleration in GTA IV/EFLC? Like when you're trying to aim precisely with a sniper rifle, you notice that you have to really move your mouse a lot for the aim to move 1 pixel if you do it slowly, but if you move it fast you just overshoot your target
i just went back to the best gta and made some more screenshots

You're killing me, Rockstar...
It's like they forgot about the auto part of grand theft auto.
I'm not in any hurry for the rest of the vehicles in this dripfeed batch as they all have the new handling attributes that either neuter their performance or just make them really unfun to drive. Just try to rally the GB200 over uneven terrain and tell me it is fine compared to the likes of the Kuruma, Omnis and Tropos Rallye.
I just hope they don't apply the changes to future vehicles, because if we've learned anything from Rockstar they will not retroactively change anything unless it is gamebreaking, and even then, good luck getting that fixed in a timely manner.
Man I just want my fucking Lada so I can tape those cardboard cutout mods it has
I'm tempted to put cluster bombs on my Rogue after watching Ghilliemaster's bomb guide, but what I'd like to know is how far spread out the clusterbombs are spread out. Do they create a larger kill radius than standard with a very small overlap, or does it create more of a "shockwave" effect with the radius being larger, but there's a safe zone right inbetween the two explosive radii?
Question: what's the best way to someone who is playing on the keyboard to get a better flying skill and control because i'm getting fucked over the default binding
I rebound the up/down keys to 8 and 2 on the numpad (and 4 and 6 for left/right). It helps a bit, but a controller for flying is leagues easier.
I remember having such a fucking hard time with the keyboard controls for flying when I started. It took me like an hour or more to complete the helicopter slalom flight school lesson the first time
Eventually I just got used to the shit controls
And on the flip side I mastered them immediately and put them to very good use.
If it's for dogfighting and you use both your mouse and keyboard, what i do is bind pitch up/down to Shift/Ctrl, allows you to reserve your mouse for locking your camera on potential enemy pilots while still being able to control your own plane via the keyboard. Confuses the hell out of unskilled pilots too, as you can make much sharper turns than you usually would via the mouse.
I recently started to replay GTA IV on my new PC as well; and this is definitely true. I know there's that Crowbat video displaying all the neat details present in 4 and not in 5, but going back and playing the game everything feels like it has a weight to it (not just the driving). Car deformation, enemy's reaction to gunfire and taking damage, even the way the player moves around on foot feels different (Especially when you choose to drink), almost like you're pushing Niko to move rather than just moving the character. Grand Theft Auto V is great for a lot of reasons, including a base game and world filled with tons of content and I get some of the concessions they made for what I'd say is greater playability (Thinking about driving controls); but I think I prefer GTA IV in a lot of ways, including stuff not related to the physics. (Niko Bellic>>>Any of the three GTA V protaganists).
For flying, I rebound pitch to W/S, yaw to Q/E and roll to A/D. Makes flying simple. You have to rebind a bunch of other stuff though for this to work.
I own a Motorcycle Club and a business (document forging in the sticks) and a high-end apartment for heist purposes.
What should my next large purchase/goal be?
I'd go for an office. It unlocks all the CEO stuff.
Didn't enjoy the bunker much, plus you also have to buy a MOC to fully use it.
Facility is a gigantic waste of money.
Keep in mind though, once you buy an office, you're gonna have to spend another couple million on a vehicle warehouse for import/export or a cargo warehouse for crates. If you go the import/export route, you're gonna be stealing cars and selling them for up to 100k a piece. Instant cash, but not a lot. If you go the crates route, you're going to need a lot of patience. Filling up your warehouse is a slow process, but once you reach the limit, you can sell all of your crates at once for 2.2 million. It costs money each time you steal crates, but you can make that money back by doing missions in between each delivery. Personally, I like doing crates, but I'll leave that up to you.
I would recommend waiting for the next update at this point. We're probably not far off since they've only got two groups of cars, an adversary mode, new transform races, and creator updates left to release. Also, if Yan's information is correct on the next update, we could potentially see some big changes to how things work with businesses/warehouses which may make certain things better or worse:
