Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V12 - GTA Online: We Have a Hacking Problem

I don't even need to do that, the game kicks me into my own session willy nilly whether I want it to or not.
Small addition to this, you wont have other players enter your session until a friend manually joins you. So if you want to do things as a crew then you've only got a few minutes until others are routed to your session.
Actually I was going to make a rebuttle that all the items you get in the pack are perks and you are really buying it for the 1mil in gta funbucks however for the same price you can get 3.5mil in funbucks.
Meaning you can buy probably a decent bunker, upgrade it with maybe some money left over. So I got nothing, although I will stand by on saying that the Frogger is better to fly then a Buzzard simply due to it having landing struts and that if you already own a more expensive clubhouse that moving it will give you some cash back.
New tweet from Yan:

Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for this. I'm not expecting some amazing update, but it'd be nice to have something new to fuck around with.
Given his previous big tweet about business consolidation also happening, I reckon both have been rolled into the same update for development reasons. Being the size of 'two updates' may mean we have double the dripfeed period and may potentially be looking at 6 months of content we can see on day 1, but not touch for half a year.
At least we still have FiveM.
I think I'll keep GTA5 uninstalled till the update drops, since through the entirety of the dripfeeding It hasn't been really touched much and just takes up space.
I have a file someone in one of the Discord servers I'm in threw together that does exactly that on my desktop. One little click and everyone's gone.
Hah, for me the game does automatically and even when i don't want this happend
Pre-ordering Red Dead 2 on X-Box gets you money in GTAO (X-Box obviously)
For anyone that cares.
The news about the DLC being delayed really does blow. After getting nearly every major vehicle (minus a Hydra, working on it) and having 4.8mil banked for the next DLC, the game just feels a bit empty with the only big thing to do while gun-idling is PVP.
Granted it took a really long time to get to this point, but I mean geez... This next thing better be way bigger then the Doomsday Heist if it's also supposed to be the "final" dlc
I don't think it's the final DLC. I'm fairly certain a recent Take-Two conference call confirmed that they're going to continue supporting GTAO a bit longer.
Updates will probably continue for a while since they seem to still be pretty damn profitable.
Rockstar will stop producing updates when it stops becoming profitable
New event is live.
New transform races.
Transform races are double cash and RP.
XA-21, Shotaro, and Blazer Aqua on sale.
Jester Classic still isn't released.
I hope i can turn my Jester into a "Pastrol or whatever is called the branding for Castrol in-game" racing car like this
http://www.dailysportscar.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/TOMS-Supra-Super-GT-1.jpg
theres no liveries and barely any other customisation
your hopes are dead
I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen with the Jester Classic at this point. It's the only vehicle that has been split from the dripfeed groups and there isn't much of a point to delaying something that people lost hype for when it was revealed that customization was complete shit. It's a very optimistic thought, but maybe Rockstar is actually listening to the community for once and will fix the car up in a future update.
Any people still playing San Andreas on SAMP or MTA?
That's from the leak, which i'm aware and that's why i think they are delaying it because it didn't had shit to customize on it
I'm guessing that if they plan on fixing the Jester Classic, they'll probably push the fixes in the next content update which means you'll probably see new cars with it.
I hope so, the same to having the new car mechanics to older vehicles. It just doesn't make any sense for them to add this stuff for "testing purposes only for future title" on newer content meanwhile leaving the old one as it's, which depending of what vehicle you use is going to be better than the recent ones. I'm aware is going to take some time push this to all vehicles but damn, just do it for the sake of keeping balanced man
peer to peer connection is like the main reason hackers are so prevalent yeah?
P2P combined with Rockstar's strange lack of caring about doing anti-cheat - on launch the game just accepted whatever you told it and Rockstar had literally nothing in place to stop that. Say you had a billion dollars? The game now says you have a billion dollars. Say that you headshot everyone instantly? The game just accepted that.
It's obviously improved a little bit, but not really that much, which is why you can get all the ridiculous stuff you see hackers do.
Yes it is because unlike dedicated servers which say "yay" or "nay" to player actions (within reason - some things still slip the net like Speedhacks), P2P systems just flat out "believe" whatever the other playing is doing is legit and updates every other connected client as a result.
If Online used Dedicated servers, stuff like spawning cars can be prevented as the server would realise that shouldn't be possible - so would just block that action from taking place but that costs money, and not something Take2 wanted to spend their money on so they went with the much cheaper P2P option as a result.
Maintenance seems to be over and there is a new event live on GTAO.
Double cash and RP on Simeon's Contact Missions.
Sales on Taipan, Autarch, Casco, Deluxo, Prison Bus, Kuruma, and Kuruma (Armored).
Jester Classic is not released.
I'm also seeing what looks like a higher payout in the Prison Heist finale, so double cash/RP might be active on original heists.
People say the Stromberg is a waste of money, and they're wrong.
If you want the second best counter to Deluxo/Oppressor spam, get a Stromberg. Let's get into the details.
So this non-customizable brick costs roughly 2.4 million dollars with the trade price, and roughly 3.2 million without it or any other discounts. Its missile system is worse than the Deluxo, with having half the range (150m vs 300m+) and tracking that tries it's hardest to be a Ruiner, but falls short because it can't turn into an electron and repeatedly spin in place until it gets a perfect lock. Also, the missiles have roughly half the range before they explode prematurely compared to every other missile system.
Thing is, despite all these flaws, most Deluxo drivers are idiots. They'll hover in place going "WOLOLO" and mashing the fire button until they get a flash of angry messages, and make no effort to dodge any munitions coming their way because lets face it, for the most part they won't get any, and oftentimes Oppressor/homing rockets will miss even IF you get a lock on them. Not the Stromberg, though.
You want to know how many explosives this thing can take? Six homing launchers, two RPGs, and eight or so explosive rounds. Want to know how many a Deluxo can take? One, one, and three, respectively. You can see where this is going.
If they're being a dickhead and you can close the distance on them, you can guarantee a kill. Short of them coming after you Off the Radar, you should be prepared for any single Deluxo encounter, maybe even two kills worth before you get into a damage level where you need to start worrying about what hits you. If you're chasing one, just keep hauling ass in a straight line. Their hover mode can't come close to out-running you. If they're coming at you, charge them. Close the distance and avoid getting hit. Oftentimes their missiles just impact the road right behind you if you're moving at full speed.
If you really want to harvest some tears, start up some VIP work and avoid the insurance costs from blowing up their magic powered cars.
But wait, what about the Oppressor? Well, they're even worse off. The time proven advice of bull-charging them works even better here, because their missiles can't track nearly as well. If they're going in a straight line, IE: riding out the glide in order to keep moving quickly, that leaves them with no room to evade. Ordinarily you'd be hard pressed to hit the broomsticks that scream a mixture of "FLIPENDO" and racial slurs interchangeably because of their low profile. That won't save them from multiple missiles, however. If this hasn't convinced you yet, you can go underwater and avoid most if not all homing missiles except from another Stromberg.
TL:DR: Want to counter the Deluxo and Oppressor all in one go? Get the Stromberg. Second best thing you can get, first best being the Fully Loaded Ruiner 2000.
Also don't forget that the Stromberg makes the best sled when snow is enabled.
Slide down that hill.
I meant to post this a while ago but forgot, I managed to get the alien crash site bunker supply mission. I completely forgot it was a thing that could happen.
