I honestly find the world of GTA V to be very dead compared to IV and previous games. Maybe it's just because I've played the game for a long ass time, but I just can't find many interesting things in V's world.

I was playing IV recently, and noticed that at higher wanted levels cops actually start showing up on rooftops with sniper rifles. I know the cops in GTA V are very anti-fun, but I think it would be neat to have some sharpshooters with laser sights show up at five stars.
Another thing that bothers me in V is that there's almost no police cars patrolling the streets. In IV, you could see parked or patrolling cop car on every 4th street or so.

I always thought the idea of Niko and Vlad becoming frenemies would be funny "hey yokel we get fucking food and coffee" "hey shithead lets go fucking bowling" just Vlad talking shit to niko but still constantly phoning to hang out.

There's literally no cop partol at all in GTA V. Sometimes you can see a car chasing another but it's always scripted and only takes palace in pre-defined areas.
Also cops in GTA V are fucking lunatics. I've never, EVER been arrested in GTA V since the game initially came out back in 2013 for the simple reason that cops just shoot at you, no matter your wanted level.
GTAV cops are basic bitches. The police AI only knows how to do two things: Infinitely spawn ahead of you, and kill. And they will headshot you dead if they get enough shots off.
If I were to feel the need to play some single-player GTA fuckabout I'd reinstall IV, at least it feels like a GTA game and not a hollow clone of one.
Yeah personally just fucking about is for some reason a lot more fun in GTA IV, even if it weren't for the shitty police in V

maybe it's because the act of shooting stuff and driving is fundamentally more engaging due to euphoria and whatnot, it seems to have been severely limited in V, probably for the sake of Online

the shitty police spawn routines is the main reason I like playing with trainers.

Cops were literally the only reason I started using trainers. GTA V becomes much better when your moments of fun aren't ruined by cheating AI.
If you're in singleplayer and you get 1 star they'll attempt and arrest, but 2 and above they just shoot at you like real American Policeman. :terrists:
Kinda shit that they don't do that online though, like, get arrested, get put into the back of a Police car then have the chance of someone trying to free you or just getting taken to the Police station and being fined.
It might be nostalgia but IV feels so much more atmospheric than V. The entire world was interesting and there was all these different areas like middle park and little Italy. There was lots squeezed into little, rather than 30% of the map being mountain. I think they had more to work with basing it off NY.
Radio stations in IV were great too. Radio Broker and Electro Choc were two of my faves, they captured 2008 New York really well. V's stations are a bit lacklustre, especially ones like Soulwax FM which are pretty tragic wastes of what could be a great techno/house station.
Really wish my IV disc wasn't scratched, I'd be booting it up for a quick play all the time.

One thing I do not miss is the driving :v:
Liberty Rock Radio was my fave station. Los Santos Rock Radio has some good music, but the DJ is lackluster in comparison.
I liked the euphoria physics and the car handling in 4 more. 5 is more accessible and a bit more arcadey than 4, but the cars felt like they had some weight behind them, as did the NPCs. The damage was punchier, if you hit someone it was thumpy, you didn't stop on a dime. There was under steer and the car had some proper shock absorption and didn't feel as stiff as the cars in 5 do. It took some skill to properly handle some of the cars. Then again I used a controller for driving, and I know that if you use a keyboard then that shit was impossible
But 5 is mechanically better in just about every way to 4
Oh yeah the physics are excellent, you're right about the damage being punchier, one thing that bugs me about GTA:O driving is going about 140mph into a wall and you just take a bit of damage and carry on driving
The only major complaint I have about GTAIV car physics is that all cars behaved as if they essentially have broken suspension. The amount of body roll was just plain stupid, even on fast low slung cars like the Infernus or the Coquette they'd roll around like a boat. Other than that I did enjoy the driving in IV more, because it was basically a skill, not just an extension of the movement, it took time to learn how to properly handle some vehicles, unlike GTAV, where all cars essentially handle the same apart from corner speed.
Singleplayer cops isn't that bad in GTA V, you only start getting shot if you resist arrest at 1-star then it elevates you to 2-star where its shot on sight

This is fine for me because every time I get into a car it turns into a police car magnet, resulting in me crashing to every fucking one I see, resulting in me having many wanted levels I could've avoided :v:
There are probably mods that add cops to traffic
There are probably mods that add cops to traffic
It wouldn't surprise me if there were a bunch of them by now, but I think most people just find it ridiculous that a basic thing like cops patrolling the map actually has to be modded in and doesn't come standard.
Oh I wasn't defending the decision of not including them, I'm just saying it can be fixed.

I found a parking Garage that Cops apparently don't know how to get to

They just sit on the sidewalk.
I wish the random pedestrians were tougher in GTA V. I just hit the knees of one person sitting, who then hit the person she was sitting next to.
They both died and I got a wanted level.
Also I found it kind of funny how the female Vagos are weaker than male Vagos. Like if you shoot one in the leg with a weak pistol they fall over and die, while it takes multiple shots to bring down their male counterparts.
Nostalgia post
I really miss the fact that you didn't have to kill to incapacitate, it's so stupid you punch someone once and they just die.
Paramedics may or may not come, but they always fail to save someone already dead because I threw a cup of coffee while they were sitting on a bench and for some reason that kills them.
Vigilante (and to a lesser extent Paramedic and Firefighter) missions are missed, going to random drug dens to kill junkies and whatnot felt satisfying and I got to know a lot of great and underused locations I wouldn't have stumbled upon otherwise.
Those little details, that post-game progression is what really made the game for me.
I've actually seen an ultra cop once in V. It was a cop with insanely large cone of vision, and I think he spawned during the "Steal the prison transport" setup.
Anybody able to tell me how I can use Open IV with Mod Manager?
I have a Mods folder with an OpenIV Folder with the openIV.asi there.
Say I want to install a openIV mod like World of Variety, where do I install it to?
Honestly what i hate the most in GTA at least for V is that you get a wanted level for any little bad deed
Even when there's no reason cops should even know that it happened

Cops are omnipresent, unerring monsters of endless numbers with teleportation skills.
IIRC in IV people had to call emergency services and if you'd 'silence' them nothing would come at you right? I'm not 100% sure on that but I do recall for some petty crimes you could get away by just getting rid of the witness/es.
Wasn't there a bug in GTA V where animals would somehow call emergency services?
