Not leaving the entire Wanted System completely fucking broken would super fix a ton of the game's problems
Wasn't there a bug in GTA V where animals would somehow call emergency services?
Yes, but AFAIK it was supposed to be fixed in an update about a year ago. I'd laugh hard if the next patch ended up regressing that bug by accident.
Anybody able to tell me how I can use Open IV with Mod Manager? I have a Mods folder with an OpenIV Folder with the openIV.asi there. Say I want to install a openIV mod like World of Variety, where do I install it to?
Mods folder should be empty. The openiv.asi should be in the main folder, where the GTA5.exe is. Select the package installer button in OpenIV, point it to the .oiv package, then select "install to mods folder"
>Snipe a guy from the top of Mount Chiliad with a silenced rifle >2 stars, cops are driving up the mountain after you
Meanwhile in missions, you can break into LSIA, kill ten people, steal one of the ten X-80 protos, and drive it there soaked in blood without anyone raising an alarm. Oh, and while you're hauling a tugboat full of cargo, with multiple people in jetskis shooting machine pistols at you, the cops are nowhere to be found, even after you've slaughtered 50 of them and blew up two skis.
What also irritates me beyond measure is that the cops will sometimes give you a wanted level just by driving past the police department. I still can't understand why the fuck does this happen.
What also irritates me beyond measure is that the cops will sometimes give you a wanted level just by driving past the police department. The ragdolls were funnier and the cars crunched better but otherwise I don't miss anything from IV The cops were anti fun back then too, I vividly remember them being total cocks and turning them off with mod menu, just like I do now in V, nothing has changed there
I wish your wanted level would have started dropping after you killed enough cops/noose like it did in a few story missions. unless you're Trevor or hanging out with him shooting back is just suicide, I barely ever fired my weapons as Michael or franklin
I also love how merely standing next to a person makes them aggro, even if you're not in their personal space [editline]4th July 2017[/editline] The wanted system honestly boils down to two things, either you drive really fast and dodge the police cars spawning in front of you, or you get shot at from literally every angle imaginable [editline]4th July 2017[/editline] another thing is the 'stealth' system. i wonder why R* even bothered implementing it if the cops always JUST SO HAPPEN to head exactly in your direction as if they had psychic powers or you smelled really really bad
For me Wanted Levels should have redesign with a a passive and active component. The passive component can fill and empty the Stars slowly over time, increasing and decreasing the police presence and the likelihood of them detecting your crimes, recognizing you and how to properly respond. (right now if you blow up a cop car in the moon they'll send the mayor to beat you up with a cane stick and that is unjustifiable) New system. If I kill cops and no one can see it at all, 1 passive star. If I kill cops and no one can see me, but they can see the corpses, 2 passive stars: I won't be hunted, no one knows it was me, but the police presence will be tighter. More killing? 3 stars - Helicopters will be seen flying around occasionally with searchlights. More killing? 4 stars - Officers stationed in venues or hotspots interacting with NPCS, random police road blocks with checkpoints, etc. After a while if you do blow up cars in some isolated location this will justify how the law enforcement can find you out of nowhere, if they're looking for a psychopath everywhere. That would light up the 'active' stars, befitting of the witnessed or reported crime, only getting away with all the cop presence you accumulated before will be troublesome without committing any more crimes. I don't know, I feel something like that could be fun instead of frustrating.
and the 'undetected car' mode which hardly ever serves a purpose because they see right through it very quickly, most of the time too quick to make any difference [editline]4th July 2017[/editline]
For me Wanted Levels should have redesign with a a passive and active component.
it'd be pretty great it you could have the police go on manhunts looking for you in the wild without magically knowing where you are (ideally trying to apprehend you and not shooting you on sight).
Yeah 5 stars onwards would mean commiting any crime without raising eyebrows would prove extremely difficult. You could start your abuse on unsuspecting civilians out which some, at random, are undercover FIB agents, cars you've ditched could be 'sniffed' and while you could avoid short term detection by switching clothes or vehicles running into or away from K-9s would be lead to some hilarous moments and achievements, like commit such and such crime with a 6 Star presence without being detected. You know, FUN SINGLE PLAYER STUFF COUGHforgetaboutSPletsmilksharkcardsCOUGH
Doesn't MP use the same wanted system?
it does, but who really cares about it if it's disabled/tweaked in missions, it might as well not be there, it plays pretty much no role in online

I just purchased a Comet Retro Custom, and the rear wheel clips through the arches. Are you fucking kidding me?

I don't know, I feel something like that could be fun instead of frustrating.
GTA V's wanted system is certainly imperfect, but it's still a huge improvement over what it used to be in all the games before it. I know it's not the best game to mention, but Watch Dogs actually had a police response system that I appreciated a lot more than what's in GTA V. I only played the first game, so I don't know how they adjusted, or improved it in the sequel, but the system in Watch Dogs is actually quite similar to what GTA V has, but I believe the cops aren't nearly as omnipresent. One of my favorite things is that you could actually completely avoid being reported to the police by just killing or disabling all the witnesses who dared to try to phone in a police report. The overall tone, and mechanics of the police just felt more detailed, like how they would recognize your abandoned vehicles, and would investigate your last known position rather than always gravitating to where you currently were. Additionally, it also had sort of a hybrid with GTA IV's wanted system, where the police would only search in a certain radius of your crime, and if you escaped that radius, you'd effectively evade the police. The other interesting thing was that police wouldn't immediately forgive your past crimes. If you had attained a maximum police response and escaped, if you caused any trouble immediately thereafter, the police would remember those crimes and respond in full force appropriately. Your actual rating would slowly dwindle down over time whenever you weren't committing any crimes. That being said, it's not a perfect system either. It was just as easy to bunker into one spot and just kill cops repeatedly as they walk into your line-of-sight. But it was actually easier to escape in Watch Dogs than in GTA V, because the cops would tend to forget about you murdering dozens of fellow officers even if you haven't moved from your one defensive location.

I have a separate mods folder outside of it that Mod Manager points to, it detects most of the mods but isn't detecting any of the .dll files or the OpenIV stuff
So, remember how there was the damaged UFO found in the files when Gunrunning came out? [t]https://i.imgur.com/iz6jEUm.jpg[/t] Well... You need to have completed at least 600 gunrunning sales and then start a supply run between 21:00 and 23:00. :hypeisnotreal:
Yeah not surprised at all with them not being able to continue with liberty city. Really do wonder what the new roadmap will be.
When I was delivering supplies for my MC business I nearly shat myself.
fuuuuck, man 600 sales? why couldn't they have just made it 600 resupply missions?
Because that would be too easy. Bunkers need to be resupplied every time and often require like 5 resupply missions just to fill the bar a little.
Kuruma is Unbreakable: Highway Star Arc
Really like the Cotton Candy/Crazy Diamond color scheme on cars, have my Turismo Classic painted as such. Though the armored Kuruma makes more sense.
Honestly what i hate the most in GTA at least for V is that you get a wanted level for any little bad deed Even when there's no reason cops should even know that it happened
I keep getting 1 star wanted levels just for driving around not killing anyone or anything, car was also not stolen since it was one of my personal vehicles.
I just finished polishing up my first stunt race track. It has optional risky shortcuts that might shave a second or two with a very bright color scheme.
All the little details they took out of GTA V for no reason shits me. Shooting NPCs doesn't feel anywhere near as good as they did in IV, it sucks.
