Spec Ops The Line also had a shitty multiplayer, but the single-player mode is everyone's main focus. Both are great games if you ignore the multiplayer part, and that's what they get remembered for in the end.
Kinda pointless comparison because Spec Ops multiplayer was just a checkmark, and didn't have much thought put into it.
That's, like your opinion man. [editline]18th June 2017[/editline] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_V#Critical_reception
you're god damn right it is, i'm not saying this is objective :v: About that link though, critical reception nowadays is so clouded by marketing and hype that it is essentially worthless. Not that it matters here anyway since as said, that's, like, my opinion, man
You're forgetting that this is exclusively a PC market problem. I doubt they'll even notice/care.
If anything they'll just stop releasing games on PC because they'll think we don't like their games and/or we're a bunch of ungrateful freeloaders.
If anything they'll just stop releasing games on PC because they'll think we don't like their games and/or we're a bunch of ungrateful freeloaders.
Watch through this and look out for Jim phrasing Take Two CEO's thoughts. They already think we are exactly that :v:
Well the silver lining is that more people finally realize the modus operandi of Take Two/Rockstar. Meaning even going as far as bottlenecking the singeplayer and mods (other than making Online a grindfest) for the sake of microtransactions. So hopefully people won't put up with that shit should they try it again in the future, but I have a feeling that this is just my wishful thinking

Not that it matters here anyway since as said, that's, like, my opinion, man
I was on Facepunch when it got released and I don't remember a single person thinking the game was underwhelming at release. It's obvious the multiplayer dragged opinions down and took the single-player experience with it.
I was on Facepunch when it got released and I don't remember a single person thinking the game was underwhelming at release.
That's my point, people (and especially reviewers) tend to be really forgiving when they're excited and full of hope. I've had the same with both GTA V and Skyrim. When they first released I thought they were incredible, I'd even go as far as saying I was in denial. As time went on I just kinda became disillusioned. Although again, that's just my 2 cents, if someone doesn't think that way then that's great too.
I'm really disappointed I can't fly the Oppressor around in my underground bunker
I was on Facepunch when it got released and I don't remember a single person thinking the game was underwhelming at release. It's obvious the multiplayer dragged opinions down and took the single-player experience with it.
The game honestly was excellent at release. But the bad multiplayer dragged it down plus the game being released 3 times (with some people buying it on last gen, current gen, and PC) and shark cards made it painfully obvious they're trying to milk GTA 5 for every possible cent. Kind of like Bethesda rereleasing Skyrim 5 times.
In regard to what the MOC reminds people off, it's obviously knight rider :v:

Finally got in a money drop session, then online shit itself, disconnected me, then refused to let me join the player again, then the drop session ended, gg :suicide: :suicide: :suicide: :suicide:
I just booted up the sp vanilla just to see what gta without dicking about with mods is like there's absolutely fuckall to do you can shoot the police and pointlessly drive cars around though
I couldn't even 100% my single player save if I wanted to because it's glitched and certain events required for 100% completion don't happen. [editline]18th June 2017[/editline] Every now and then when I load into single player, it's kind of jarring to see Michael or Trevor after playing online so long. You kind of forget that they exist.
I just booted up the sp vanilla just to see what gta without dicking about with mods is like there's absolutely fuckall to do you can shoot the police and pointlessly drive cars around though
You can do the story? The thing that the overwhelmingly positive reviews were based on?
You can do the story? The thing that the overwhelmingly positive reviews were based on?
They don't like the story
Police are the worst part of open world games, turn them off and you can do plenty of fun shit without getting shot in the head instantly Like driving full speed into people on motorcycles and watching them fly into the sky
Police are the worst part of open world games, turn them off and you can do plenty of fun shit without getting shot in the head instantly Like driving full speed into people on motorcycles and watching them fly into the sky
It's especially annoying when police can just start shooting at you when you just jumped their car a little bit, and even if you don't have any weapons equipped they will keep shouting "ONE OF US IS GONNA DIE".
You can do the story? The thing that the overwhelmingly positive reviews were based on?
yeah i've done that four times, and i was referring to my save post story. gta isn't really supposed to be the kind of thing you play for the story mode, but for the sandbox, which is what there is left after having finished the story, and it's absolutely lackluster otherwise you might as well play all those games that do the story and shooting better
In regard to what the MOC reminds people off, it's obviously knight rider :v:
Welp, sadly you cannot get your vehicle out of it while moving
yeah i've done that four times, and i was referring to my save post story. gta isn't really supposed to be the kind of thing you play for the story mode, but for the sandbox
If you've been playing several GTA games without paying attention to the story, you've been doing it very wrong. GTA is an amazing satire of American society.
otherwise you might as well play all those games that do the story and shooting better
Yeah I wonder like what.
If you've been playing several GTA games without paying attention to the story, you've been doing it very wrong. GTA is an amazing satire of American society.
i meant i've beat the gta v story 4 times over the years. it's still not very good, certainly no clever satire and what do you mean, like what? There is a plethora of games with better stories and/or better gunplay as far as those two aspects go gta v really isn't anything to write home about. not that it's bad or anything, it just doesn't really excel at them either [editline]18th June 2017[/editline] oh well, maybe i'm just growing old and brooding
Welp, I just sold my guns for the first time, and that shit was stressful. Only had one other person helping, and we had to drive three insurgents around delivering crates while holding off merryweather troops. Finished with like 1 minute left.
gunrunning is actually kinda profitable which is nice
They could have made fighting the police... or NPC's great if they seemingly didn't have a random chance to just outright fucking kill you in one hit
MENDOZA'S BEEN HIT. MENDOZA'S BEEN FUCKIN' HIT.
They could have made fighting the police... or NPC's great if they seemingly didn't have a random chance to just outright fucking kill you in one hit
i know what you're talking about, they have a seemingly random chance to dump their entire magazine into your head instantly, it's pretty bullshit, you can survive it against an smg or an assault rifle, but a combat mg with 100 rounds all hitting you at once? nope
So, the SAM APC isn't actually a SAM at all. It's got rockets, 60 of them in fact, and they can be rapid fired without any lockon capabilities. Aparently the SAM trailer is the same deal. So in other words they are utterly useless
MENDOZA'S BEEN HIT. MENDOZA'S BEEN FUCKIN' HIT.
BEND OVER HERE I COME [editline]19th June 2017[/editline]
It's got rockets, 60 of them in fact, and they can be rapid fired without any lockon capabilities.

So in other words they are utterly useless
I don't get it
If any of you has ever played Earthbound, there is a glitch/trick where, if you didn't want to fight certain enemies or large groups of them, you would walk away enough for the screen to cover them up and then go back and have the game respawn different enemies, usually easier to kill and in less amounts. You can do the same thing in GTAV but using the minimap as your "screen" and the police dots as the enemies. However you should know: 1) It doesn't work if the cops were scripted to spawn (i.e the cops that chase you down after stealing a specific car or cops that were in the mission area). 2) You have to be "out of sight" (stars blinking). 3) You must not have a cop tailing you (when this happens the police cruiser magically catches up to the speed of any vehicle, to prevent this to happen you have to drive in zig zag) Usually when you're driving in certain direction, the game spawns cops coming in front of you and then despawns cops on your back. This way the game fucks with you making it seem like there is no escape. You have to imagine the radar as your "screen". You have to trick the game and make it think that you're going to drive in straight way, without taking any turns. Then the game will think "Oh this guy will get fucked, better spawn more roadbloacks and three cars on the oncoming lane", when it does this, the game will despawn dots behind you. Then, right before you enter the cops' cone of vision, you use the handbrake, do a hard U-turn and drive back from where you came from. The game shits itself because it despawned the cops behind you, now you take the opportunity to escape and lose your wanted level. Same happens with helicopters.
