I'm happy that it takes a little bit of skill to actually hit targets with the bombs. It might make it a bit less annoying when some asshole in a pub session decides to try ruining my day with one of the new planes.
I honestly hope the Dodo seaplane gets some weapons. I love that thing.
I've had the Dodo since it's release, always enjoyed it even if it's slow. I don't think I've ever seen someone using one online
I'm only planning on doing the crates to get the Tula price down

Yeah, I've noticed that they drop the way I expected them to. You have to compensate for their forward momentum and they mostly fall in a straight horizontal path when carpet bombing with very little deviation.
At this stage the best defense against the new aircraft is the explosive heavy sniper or another aircraft using machine guns only. Most missiles can already easily be outrun but now you can spam flares up to 20 times before running out, so even if a number of them do get through there's always the non CD flare spam.
I like the concept of the Ultralight with the stealth propeller. I was disappointed that this wasn't applied in some small way to the Starling, seeing as how it's basically a glider with an on board engine that you are intended to pulse. It would be cool if you had an off the radar effect when gliding around in that thing up to a certain radius. Basically something you can make a quick getaway in and not be followed, or close in on someone with still enough of a chance of surprise to catch them off guard if they aren't watching the map. All in all I'd say the Ultraglide and Rogue are the two best so far. The Tula is really really really nice and cool but the only way to deploy countermeasures is with a co-pilot. The ability to VTOL and land on open water is great and gives it a lot of versatility, but without a team it's basically like flying a Liberator in Planetside by yourself.
The MiG is pretty cool but in terms of combat ability it's nothing special. No bombs and the main gun isn't all that hot either. The only benefit is its jet powered and you can armor it up, effectively giving you a beefier not-Hydra.

The Tula is my main focus, after that I may get the Rogue or else wait for the P-45. Maybe pick up the Ultralight and the minicopter eventually.
I love the fact the Tula can float, and it's kind of fun to fly, but.. Every single time I see the VTOL mode I cringe. Objectively the dumbest vtol design I've ever seen. :V
Alpha-Z1 is easily my favourite plane to just passively fly in, it's so nimble and so god damn fast Hydra's can't keep up with the race handling on top.

might need a different helmet tho, white looks odd.
so would you guys say it's worth forking out the $1.2~mil for the cheapest hangar?

If you're looking for work, it might be better looking into better options as it would take a while to make back the money you spent with the smuggling work. If you're looking to customize aircraft, you'll need to add an extra million to that price tag and you'll also need to have a lot of money to buy the new vehicles that can be customized properly. Most old Pegasus aircraft can only be repainted.

You say that but from an actual technical side. Tilt wing > tilt rotor.
Bought a Rogue last night as pretty much my only purchase from this DLC until we get some interesting drip-feed stuff, and it's pretty great. A relatively cheap plane which still has all the benefits of all the new upgrades.

Feels great to fly, too

Tilt wing is a concept for STOLs. Presenting a vertical wall by rotating the wing 90 degrees is how you stall and crash.
What happened with the performance? Before the update I could keep 60fps at all times on med-high and now the game is stuttering all the time. That's not good.

I'm glad that the insurance cost isn't as insane as it is with the sports cars

It's based on multiple real world designs.
Good god why is the Ford Escort thing 600k?

With the headscarves they added I can kind of be Valkyrie from Rainbow Six Siege

Bit of a guess based off of the discount unlock order, but I think this is more or less going to be the dripfeed schedule assuming they go one vehicle per week:
September 5th Bombushka
September 12th Howard
September 19th Rapid GT Classic
September 26th Mogul
October 3rd Pyro
October 10th Cyclone
October 17th Sea Breeze
October 24th Nokota
October 31st Vigilante
November 7th Hunter
November 14th P-996 Lazer
God, I hope the Hunter is sooner, not later.

Well, I guess I don't know shit, then. It looks so stupid, though.
God, I hope the Hunter is sooner, not later.
Unfortunately, the chances of it releasing sooner than November are very low. It's the last vehicle that gets a discount from stealing crates in hangar work and the image from FoxySnaps shows that it is the second to last vehicle to be released on Warstock.

oh my god if i have to wait until the end of october for the Nokota, I'm gonna fucking cry
Finally, I can give the Valkyrie the colour it deserves.

I played a whole lot of IV and SA before trying out another race in GTA Online, and V's handling feels so weird to me now. I went into a corner WAY faster than I should've, and yet the car (Bravado Gauntlet) stuck perfectly to the line I was taking, when I know for a fact it would've spun out in either one of the other games. I knew they'd dumbed it down, but I hadn't realized it was by this much
I prefer V's handling over the previous games. It is more fun
I prefer V's handling over the previous games. It is more fun
I don't think there was much of a solid vision to V's handling. Some bits of it are more arcadey than you'd expect, easy and simple, but it also keeps some of that wonky realism of IV. It's not that I dislike it, it's just that I think the other games had a more cohesive idea of how to implement theirs.
[editline]30th August 2017[/editline]
And for the record, I'll admit I'm super nitpicky about this
Seems like the Rogue is the only really worthwhile purchase. It's cheap as hell, all purpose, zippy, and not gimmicky. The Me-163 clone would be a fun thing but it really doesn't seem that practical. The Molotok while probably faster is just shat on in terms of armaments. Plus with the prop plane you could probably pull what the Vietcong did and cause jets to stall out trying to shoot you.
So given the fact that they are stockpiling enough drip-fed content to be released over 3 months, by the time GTA 6 rolls around, it'll be launched as a skeleton game with both single and multiplayer receiving content on a weekly basis despite a lot of it being ready on launch day but not available.
I can't complain about the frequency of content we've been seeing, but is the general consensus something along the lines of 'quantity over quality', or that businesses and missions could be more varied than the grind-tacular source and sell system?
While the money may be shit from this, at least the supply runs are actually somewhat entertaining.
While the money may be shit from this, at least the supply runs are actually somewhat entertaining.
The problem is the game has been a constant growing shit pile. Instead of going to fix the existing things or flesh them out and make them fun they just add more on top of it. The new stuff is meant to distract us all from the stuff they aren't bothering to fix.
Why can I not spawn a Personal Vehicle when I have a Personal Aircraft on the field somewhere? Why do I have to call the insurance company, specify I want to make a claim, select the vehicle I want to claim, then call my mechanic (or use the vehicle menu for everything else), wait, then get what I want? Why are there four separate areas for vehicles now? CEO vehicles, only some (not all) cars in the vehicle menu, special vehicles, personal aircraft, and also the mechanic? Why is all of this shit spread out into all these different areas?
Why do I have to fumble around in the interaction menu to turn on night vision goggles or use the thermal helmet? Why can't there be a button to do it? Why do I have to click 5 things to do it each time I want to turn it off and on?
Why do I only get a 1 million dollar take from the second largest bank in Los Santos? Less, if your team gets shot (and they will)? There's too much wrong. Way too much. I play to customize cars and now customize aircraft and occasionally try to lend a helping hand to people dealing with assholes.
For the last two weeks I've been using a hack to give myself a shit load of money. I honestly can not imagine trying to do shit legit at all anymore. You get punished hard for defending yourself from dickweeds. The people who care about paying insurance on someone's death machine APC are the ones that desperately need to keep the $15,000 they're throwing down the drain by fighting some fucker screwing around with them. But that's there only choice. It's easily possible to spend way more than that. Armor refills, ammo, all the vehicle spawns and insurance claims...yeah. Getting locked into a death match with some asshole who has nothing better to do can easily cost you close to 100k.
Now we have these smuggling missions. Where everybody doing them returns to one of two central locations and at neither is there anything stopping someone from being a fuck and camping to kill incoming drops or blow people up on take off to a supply run. At least with bunkers they were all over and you'd only have to worry about stuff like that if someone actually tried to follow you. Yes, so far a number of the missions have been fun but it won't be long before the airport and base turn into camp grounds.
There's a lot wrong.
While the money may be shit from this, at least the supply runs are actually somewhat entertaining.
Shame a lot of the delivery missions are beyond garbage
Not played GTA in months now, should I start with the gunrunning stuff or go straight for the smuggling stuff. Which one will make me feel like an 80s action hero
[editline]30th August 2017[/editline]
and also make me phat stax

To my understanding Gunrunning will make you more, and it's passive. But it'll take longer, and the upgrades to the Fuhrerbunker (equipment+staff) are basically mandatory if you want to make any meaningful profit, and it'll cost like 3 mill total if you get a cheap bunker+upgrades, god forbid you get a more expensive one.
Can anyone tell me if the new helmets (the I SEE EVERYTHING IVAN KALASHNIKOV thermal, the NVG and the full-face tactic00l ones) actually work for bulletproofing? Or will I still get instanuked if I get headshotted?
When Rockstar dripfeeds vehicles after a major update, do they typically release only one vehicle a week, or more?
I guess a better question is, how many weeks does the dripfeed cycle take typically? This update it feels like there are way more vehicles that are unavailable at the update's launch than is normal.
