Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V12 - GTA Online: We Have a Hacking Problem

It looks like we aren't getting any dripfeed content this week unless Rockstar fucked up with their tunables update.
Discounts on Half Track, Itali GTB, Reaper, Nightshade, and Coquette Classic. Motor Wars still on double cash/RP it seems.
There's an option for friends session, but you have to have a friend in a session already to join - I clicked it and it gave me "there's no friends playing"
Go to singleplayer, there from pause menu select Online and Create Session will have friends/crew options. Keep in mind that you won't be able to access Biker/CEO/Gunrunning/Smuggler's content(resource managment and starting missions) though. To access all that you have to be in public session, unfortunately. With or without other players.
Thank you.
And in order to join a pub session without players I have to mess around with ports, however, Rockstar changes the ports the game uses, right?

yeah pretty much. Unless you have both LAN port and WiFi in your computer, what works for me(I'm on a laptop) is I plug my Ethernet into laptop(or unplug and plug it again) and the game leaves me in empty session.
Fucking cavemen still dicking around with ports and banging rocks together when you can just use the resource monitor to lag yourself out, port blocking is nice if you NEVER want to see another player ever again but simply lagging yourself out and inviting friends is the way to go
I just "Find New Session" repeatedly until it drops me in alone.
So I beat "Prison Break" with a friend after starting it a year and a half ago (couldn't beat the final mission); so I assume we have 3 more heists ahead of us. I have to say, it's pretty fun when it actually works - and this is a surprise, considering I mostly played GTA:O on PS3 before Heists were released, and played those horrible solo missions (remember Rooftop Rumble?)
What else is there to do with friends that's fun? I'm thinking something structured like missions. I tried deathmatch - it's okay, but feels really unfair, even when you're winning.

Lamar's Contact Missions are neat, they have cutscenes. Other Contact Missions aren't so great but there are some that are 'ok'. Some Adversary Modes are also neat for 2-man party vs other people, but unless the mode is on double RP and cash don't count on finding any lobbies for it, unfortunately. Races are also great, specifically the Stunt Races. CEO and Gunrunning content have their own missions for two players too - in those missions you get to drive a fancy vehicle introduced in that update to do some tasks, they are essentially standard Missions. Once you complete it the host of that mission will get that vehicle discounted on Warstock Cache and Carry website. However, to get access to these missions you have to do CEO and Gunrunning content, which takes a bit of time and a lot of money. Unsure if Smuggler's Run added new missions, can't comment on that.
i want them to add the mr whoopee ice cream truck again and allow us to modify the music it plays in an in-game music sequencer, that would be nice

Did you say APB?

Anything that allow players to play custom audio in-game is going to end up having something about ni🅱🅱a

Don't forget blasting Heil Viktoria in downtown Los Santos.

it's not custom audio, you're using the same sample given by rockstar which is the standard pitch loop, you just make a tracker for it

Heh, all I need to do is play for 10 minutes and the game tosses me into a lone session. I don't even need to try. Can't even have friends join.
It does get a bit lonely
:(

sometimes you just find the perfect color for your perfect car
I purchased an Itali GTB Custom and the thing in not even a few minutes of experience seems incredibly zippy. If anyone here is looking for a good color scheme, try Gasoline Green/Sea Green with the Kreppshole livery. Preferably Gasoline but Sea works nicely as well.

Here's what it looks like with Sea Green
Bought the game on PC not long after release, had my fun and stopped playing after about 6 months. All the new content seems cool but there's no way I'm grinding or paying for shark cards. Would anybody be kind enough to PM me about some ways to get hackerbuxx? I just wanna have a couple days of more fun in GTAO with a friend, don't care too much if I get banned by Rockstar later.
I know they're probably obsolete by now, but which special vehicles (the things from the I/E special work missions) are good enough to be worth a buy?
and no ruiner 2000

hopefully next update will have customizable cop cars.
that we'll need to buy a Cop Car Garage for.
that costs $6,000,000 at the cheapest.
but you need to spend $1,000,000 to get the Cop Car Mechanic so it really costs $7,000,000.
fuck you rockstar

Rocket voltic is a must have, others are just nice bonus
So on PC, I'm gucci on cash, but I just bought this on Xbox One to play w/ friends.
Wtf do I do to get money? Haven't actually grinded for money in this game since 2015, any up to date guides out there?
Kind of wish they did an Import/Export Pt. II adding the newest cars to the pool of cars you can steal through Source Vehicle option, plus new missions.
So is armored Kuruma still the most versatile vehicle?
So is armored Kuruma still the most versatile vehicle?
It works okay in PvE activities, but I wouldn't really recommend it for anything else since it only takes one explosion to kill it. I'd also argue that the price is a bit high for a car that just makes certain things slightly faster.

Don't buy any Special Vehicles if you are in the market for a functional vehicle that you will use for missions and freemode shenanigans. They are nice little trinkets to goof off with, and each comes with a VIP style freemode mission with similar payouts, but I would not buy any of them unless they were on 50% sale. I only have experience with a few of them, so I can't vouch for any not listed below:
The Ramp Buggy and Phantom Wedge are neat, but have terrible durability, each dying after ramming 20 cars. Rocket Voltic used to be fun on PC before they nerfed the boost duration, it was tied to framerate (higher frames = longer duration), but they made the boost duration shorter on all platforms and the cooldown twice as long as the launch version when the Special Vehicle races came out. The Rocket Voltic is also very durable when it comes to crashes, not sure about explosives, it's a nice bit of fun, but is totally eclipsed by the Oppressor.
So if you don't have an Oppressor yet, I'd heavily recommend buying one instead of a Special Vehicle. You'll need a Bunker and MOC to customise it and get the trade price, but these aren't mandatory, it's still the most versatile land vehicle in the game without engine/rocket boost/armour upgrades (it is stupidly overpowered with upgrades, but it requires a massive investment, and a bit of luck to get the homing missile upgrade through the awful bunker research mechanic, but it is something to work towards).
You can also instantly spawn the Oppressor very close to you whenever you want (no cooldown timer on spawns) if you have a Motorcycle Club. Whereas with a Special Vehicle, you have to request it through the interaction menu and wait the usual mechanic wait time, and be subject to the cooldown timer on requests. Basically having an MC and fully kitted out Oppressor makes you an almost omnipotent threat. If the Oppressor gets destroyed, you can quickly phone Mors, and then instantly have it available to spawn right by your side.
Use this power wisely, and don't be that guy, you know the one, the one that used to be a Hydra griefer, but switched to the Oppressor because it's even more unfair in the wrong hands.

Brown Corvette is Best Corvette.

The rocket voltic is really fun, and its freemode mission is a guaranteed like 35k.
The armored boxville is great for non PVP because it does not combust after X amount of cars hit with its wedge and the gun is pretty strong, likewise its mission is piss easy and also worth 35k.
The wastelander is fun as fuck to drive if you don't mind just having a "for fun" vehicle.
The technical aqua is good too, if you don't have a technical/technical custom from before
Do not get the blazer aqua, those things are baaaaaaad because of the forced use of their crappy machine guns.
The phantom wedge and ramp car both are awful vehicles because due to the idiots at rockstar they both will explode after hitting a few cars, the number of which i believe is in the small 20s for the ramp, and late 30s, early 40s for the wedge.
