Yea, play a better game
Not a bad choice really [editline]10th September 2017[/editline] I can't be bothered to boot up the game into online when there are hackers griefing all the time and there's nothing being done about it. [editline]10th September 2017[/editline] or it's only this fucked here in the EU, who knows
Hackers once again having the ability to crash you from session on a whim is really fucking frustrating. Not like they do enough annoying shit to begin with. Anyone know any way to avoid this?
The only ways I can think of are trying not to annoy hackers(they can still be cunts regardless), avoiding hackers entirely(easier said than done), or sticking on solo/invite/friend sessions. Unfortunately, these problems aren't ever going to go away unless Rockstar changes up the way GTAO works entirely and I can't imagine them doing something like that with V. [editline]d[/editline]
or it's only this fucked here in the EU, who knows
Pretty sure it's fucked in every region.
What I mostly do if there's heavy modder traffic, is create a solo session via port blocking, disable blocking, have a friend join, this usually opens the gates for others joining as the session switches host to the new connection. If a problematic modder joins, enable blocking to drop from session and repeat. It's a pain in the arse to have to do it, but occasionally you will strike it lucky and get a decent session where everyone is chill, or even willing to help.
I lean over and physically pull my ethernet cord from the modem. If i do it fast enough it'll empty the session.
Like what do they gain by crashing and griefing other people?
Nothing really, but for whatever reason, it's been happening since GTA IV. Despite people like that being absolute cunts, I can safely say I'm more pissed off about Rockstar allowing this shit to happen and taking their time to punish people who are disrupting gameplay with cheats.
What's just amusing is that they don't seem to care about the disruptive cheaters, and only have been caring about Money related cheating just because it's the only potential loss in profit they got
Nothing really, but for whatever reason, it's been happening since GTA IV. So either the PC version is just a small slice of the pie that isn't even worth implementing proper systems to deal with these miscreants, or they aren't prepared to spend time and resources to fundamentally change the game in a way that would automatically detect and report users breaking the terms of agreement (that being, using third-party tools and altering game files). Quite frankly I'm surprised Take-Two hasn't went apeshit and pulled the whole 'You infringed our terms of service' red card on players of the game, never mind mod makers. Although, given how at least a couple of thousand innocent users get caught up in a banwave any time they decide to make a sweep, it's less money in their pocket overall.
There also are actually people who think that Rockstar does no wrong and everyone who got adjusted and banned is legit How can you have such blind trust in a company who doesn't care about you
There also are actually people who think that Rockstar does no wrong and everyone who got adjusted and banned is legit How can you have such blind trust in a company who doesn't care about you
People over in TF2 thread are still waiting for an update so this is not even that crazy.
People over in TF2 thread are still waiting for an update so this is not even that crazy.
I don't really participate in any TF2 community besides Facepunch, but I'd gather the general consensus on Valve as a developer (not specifically just the TF2 Team) isn't a very positive one compared to HL2 launch era Valve. Having more than a one year wait for an update when veterans of TF2 remember the golden years of 3+ major or gamechanging updates a year is obviously going to give us a sense of entitlement, but the way Valve handles communication and development is a real puzzle. Rockstar do seem to be giving us steady content releases for Online nearly 4 years after release, which to some people may make it an 'old game', but the most recent Take-Two conference pretty much confirmed the sole reason Online is still getting updates is because of unexpectedly high microtransaction turnover, which is a real red flag for anyone invested in the future of the franchise. GTA is huge, and it isn't going anywhere as a singleplayer semi-sandbox crime/murder/psychosis simulator, but it makes you think what Rockstar's parent company has up their sleeve for future games. This may only be the beginning as far as microtransactions are concerned. That kinda also puts into perspective TF2's situation as a decade-old game still getting updates because the playerbase are still active, if declining, but cruicially, providing monetary gain for the company. I'm not sure how long GTA Online will last, and it really doesn't seem as if any traditional singleplayer DLC is on the way for GTA 5, or even being actively considered. GTA 6 is probably a long way off, I'd be wagering to bet a 2020 release at the earliest, and they would logically be devoting most of their resources to developing that game now that RDR2 is pretty much done (unless we're getting it for the PC a year and a half after initial console launch), so we may yet have another couple of years of current Online.
I'm kind of amazed the game is still being played as much as it is honestly I would have stopped ages ago if it weren't for all the "donations" that tended to be flying by
Does anyone, after all the updates that came out, feel like sticking to a particular "style" of criminal? For some reason I really liked the "White Collar/Evil Corporate" vibe introduced in Finance & Felony. I make my character wear different types of business clothes and drive different luxury cars depending on the kind of work I'm doing. I never liked the biker style or the evil military theme most people go for. They all feel extremely overused and edgy. I also never liked how most people Online seem to dress like this: [thumb]http://www.soletopia.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/supreme-facemask-hannibal-lecter.jpg[/thumb].
I don't really have a "Criminal" look necessarily. The one I've been using is just kinda a generic military one. It was just a green t-shirt and a sandy combat pants, then with bunkers I switched to green and desert camo respectively. Then for bunkers I stuck one of the army helmets on. I usually change my clothes depending on what kind of business I'm doing. For crates, I go for an executive/assassin look. For cars, I go for a more casual look, and for gunrunning, I go for a tactical PMC look.
I stopped a long time ago playing GTA Online because you know why, so i spend most of my time playing random mods for San Andreas. God damn this game never gets old. Earlier this year i posted about some mod for GTA SA that combines the maps from Vice City and III into a single map all while adding weapons and vehicles from these games, well only recently it received a major update with a pretty big changelog. Here are some pics:

Coolest thing about this update is that it adds the same timecyc from VC and III, so the sky has the same color scheme from the previous games instead of using San Andreas'. Other things that were added are lots of custom vehicles, vehicles from previous games that can be modified (like in the second pic), weapon sounds from previous games, more activities and generally some new gameplay mechanics such as businesses in VC that can be purchased and earn revenue. The mod is called GTA Underground if anyone is wondering, i'm still playing it in my spare time because it was basically my dream mod when i still had San Andreas on my PS2 :v:

I've got a SecuroServ goon set using branded t-shirt and cap for crates and I/E, leather-clad biker for MC, camo fatigues for gunrunning and I've yet to pick a decent set for Smuggler's Run. I wouldn't even say I'm one for caring too much about appearance, but changing styles when you're playing with a few other people as a unit makes it feel more like an occasion.
I stopped a long time ago playing GTA Online because you know why
Why did you stop playing?
Why did you stop playing?
The enormous grind when it comes to buying cool shit, annoying players, long load times etc etc etc also my PS+ expired sooo... There's also a skin selector in the new update and it has TONS of skins from VC/VCS/III/LCS/Bully and also a bunch of new ones for custom cities they're planning to add (one is a parody of chicago, they call it mainland liberty) Fair warning though, some skins crash the game

Seems like it would be a lot of fun with friends
Is there a mp mod planned? Seems like it would be a lot of fun with friends
Yeah, but its still in the works as far as i know. Its planned to come as a small update later this year or next year.
*san andreas related stuff*
Man, I really recommend getting proper widescreen patches a framelimiter adjustment script for CLEO to play at 60 fps, a must-have fanpatch the semi-official GUI remaster and a modloader to install it all without almost modifying the game itself. Since the game is so fast to load and start playing (Rockstar wasn't "no fun allowed" back then) it's great for quick play sessions.

New event on GTAO should be going live soon. Hopefully, we end up seeing some of the dripfeed content get released this time. [editline]d[/editline] [t]https://cdn.sc.rockstargames.com/images/games/GTAV/vehicles/974x400/rapid-gt-classic.jpg[/t] Funmw2 noticed that they uploaded this picture for the Social Club stats, I guess we'll be seeing that when tunables updates. [editline]dd[/editline] Rapid GT Classic now available for $885,000.
