A Hind-D?!
...Why the fuck aren't there things like eyepatches or bandanas?
Why don't you guys join one of those crews like PCEO where they have peaceful lobbies dedicated to selling cargo/cars? Not to victim blame but you're kind of asking for your stuff to get destroyed if you try and sell in a public lobby.
Honestly, having it be totally peacefull does suck a ton of the fun and suspense from it. Sure, you have assholes with either the rocket bike or VTOL fighter jets blasting you and running but the selling game would be boring tedium without the occasional surprise.
I could do without hackers making you spontaniously explode or disconnect, though.
In my experience PCEO crews are also full of self-righteous cunts who will start shit with you in the chat over dumb things like K/D and whether or not you're "truly friendly" even if you've just been quietly grinding by yourself. Usually this leads to them rallying against you with a votekick
Not sure if I'd rather put up with White-Knighting shitbeards or pubs
On Xbox at least, my experience hasn't been like that. I was actually surprised at how friendly and normal everyone was. It might be different on PC where you've got a chat window, but when you've got to use Slack on your phone to communicate, you only talk to people when you really need to.

Do you start arguments about how Hitler did nothing wrong in chat or something? Because I never had the problem of having to chat with people in GTA.

I rarely touch the chat unless I'm explaining heists to new players, as I said sometimes in crews like PCEO you'll get the occasional player who is out looking for drama and tries to start shit with you for no good reason. Ignoring them works fine unless they try to get their friends to kick you out.
Your chat experience isn't universal, besides it doesn't only happen to me, there's usually a lot of infighting and arguing between people in these "friendly" crews.
The main reason I haven't looked into PCEO is because of drama over PCEO "attacking" another peaceful crew operating similarly, and the fact that they seem to have a hardline anti-solo stance. Either you make an MC with eight members or you're going to get shitcanned. I just want to casually source vehicles and once every now and then going "ayy can you guys help me sell 4 cars kthx ily <3" without having to conform to some ultra strict schedule and operating procedure just to have some peace making money.
Transform Races have been released, I don't see any dripfeed content so we'll have to wait even longer to get everything from this update.
[editline]d[/editline]
Alpha Z-1, LF-22 Starling, V-65 Molotok, Grotti Visione, and Ocelot XA-21 are on sale.
There are 15 transform races and they're all double cash and RP right now.
Lamar's contact missions are on double cash and RP, but I'm not sure about the lowrider missions.
I don't see anything new in the creator either.

You shouldnt be punished for trying to play the game in a public lobby
You shouldnt be punished for trying to play the game in a public lobby
This is one thing I'm curious about. Was the game always inhabited by people who, in Yahtzee's own words were "a halfway cross between Hitler and Skeletor who pisses pure malice" or was it a gradual slope that became increasingly steep as the chances to ruin someone's chance at making money became more plentiful? Because I can't imagine the history behind a game where the online aspect has become so bad that you'd rather play the online aspect by yourself.
I think the game has always had a large amount of assholes; I remember a lot of times on the 360 version where someone would get a tank/jet and just murder everybody for no reason. It just got a lot more annoying during the game's life because of Rockstar's choice to force everybody into public lobbies if they wanted to make decent money without resorting to grinding Pacific Standard 200 million times.

The game has always had a large amount of assholes. Most people I know stopped playing public lobbies ages ago, and then went on to stop playing all together thanks to the predatory business practices of rockstar.
I think my favourite thing is how the lobby system is so fucking terrible that even finding a RACE is often impossible. No one wants to play any gamemode that isn't pushed because who can be assed to wait 3 fucking loading screens just to get to play a generic deathmatch?
Heists seem completely dead, and I have a feeling the problems would fix themselves if people just played it. The reason nobody plays heists is because everyone is a crack addicted, blind-deaf gorilla with half his head missing in terms of intelligence and trying to get anything done is going to be a stressful fucking mess, but if people just hunkered the hell down, filtered out the retards by manually taking a list and kicking everyone on it while purging it every two months to give them a chance to improve, they'd probably find a lot more people to play with.
Hell, this could even become a reddit community by keeping a "banned members" list to get around the witchhunting rule. It wouldn't be a list of people who are too fucking stupid to breathe, but rather a list of people who aren't allowed in a set community. If the admins get pissy about it, just say you don't want to have to manually filter out people who get invited by other members but are already banned.
Trying to install mods for this game makes me want to shoot myself. I follow the instructions for installing addon peds and vehicles exactly and my game crashes on startup no matter what. And apparently I'm the only one who has this problem because google searches give me no solutions.
You need to go grab one of the current up to date gameconfig files which allow for modded vehicles / peds.

I downloaded one dated October 2nd. My game still crashed.

I figured out what I was doing wrong never mind.
oh boy oh boy it's like the game doesn't want me to play it at all
So around fifteen minutes ago, I start a sell mission from I/E. All goes well, except three twats in some crew called "DANK" started a votekick against me. I asked why, and I got no response. I deliver the car, and then I get kicked before I can even get paid for the sell mission. Messaged him about it and no response yet again.
I've submitted a ticket with R* Support about it, but I'm not too hopeful. Worst case I just shelf the game for another two months before I stop playing other games, check back and then see they've literally added in the Battleship UFO from XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Just play solo, man. Save yourself the headache.

If you can suggest any glitches for XB1 that don't consist of trying to pray intensely at the ethernet cable or unplugging it, I'm open to suggestions.
Also, good news. It seems the T-800s running Rockstar Support are being slightly more helpful than user accounts on here and Reddit would suggest. Got the 100K back.
E: Quick update. I got a message back from the guy, and he said "sorry it wasn't my call" followed by "if you want a lobby to make $$$ message me".
I would take him up on his offer, but considering ingame he's dressed in all black with skull facepaint, and has a bio of "WHEN UR GREAT ITS NOT MURDER ITS ASSASINATE FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION THEY CALL ME A PHOTOGRAPHER, CAUSE ALL I SHOOT ARE HEAD SHOTS" with the location being "SINGLE SHxT 2 THE HEAD OWO" with so many special characters it'd take me a fucking month to reconstruct it in all it's glory, I can't help but shake the feeling that this is a malicious ruse to try and cause further loss.
Has anyone else been having issues drilling the box on the fleeca heist? I used to be able to do it pretty easily, but now even when I'm barely pressing down on the stick, the drill goes all over the place and ends up overheating. Maybe my analog stick is messed up? I dunno, I can still walk around and steer just fine.
Just got the money to [del]butcher[/del] modify a Slamvan Custom, and one thing that's pretty neat is if you extend the hydraulics by holding the A/X button on console, you can actually have it so the vehicle is at a reasonable height and not one pebble in the road away from having the entire undercarriage destroyed.
This is what it looks like with a raised suspension.

new to GTA online, trying to find a low-down on what's what
i'm keen to avoid the 'exploit X mission for Y money and RP per hour' gameplay that i hear so much about, will i find myself at a significant disadvantage? also if i'm like 40-hours-a-week busy, is there any point?

The game takes time to truly start progressing, but even an hour a day can get you some significant leaps and bounds if you play your cards right. As for exploiting missions, I assume you're talking about the 1000000000+$ and 100000000+RP maps, right? Because those are completely fake pieces of shit that will often lead to the host instantly killing everyone on the other team for free K/D padding because of how the map is designed.
oh wow, youtube really is something else when it comes to GTAO. 'like and subscribe for gta 6 beta codes'
fuck me why

i'm talking about people saying 'blow up II but time it right so you get max dolla'
if I just kinda do whatever missions look fun to me in the moment, will I lose out?

As far as I know, you do lose out on a small amount of money in terms of dollars per hour, but it's only like 60$ or so to the point where you're just pissing around doing nothing for no good reason if you do time the missions. Just do them at whatever pace you want or need to, and you'll be fine.
honestly just take advantage of transform races right now, they have double payout, if you save up enough consider buying an office & vehicle warehouse because they're the quickest way to make money iirc
it does take a fair amount of doing so if you're 40+ hours/week busy you might not be able to buy all the really expensive shit (gunrunning, the newer supercars etc.) for a while
exploiting contact missions like blow up II was the best way to make money when GTA:O was still in its early days but a lot has changed since
[editline]23rd October 2017[/editline]
oh and heists give you a bonus the first time you complete them which makes them worth doing at least once, try to do it with pals tho because the average GTA:O player can't identify basic shapes
Just in case anyone here was still holding out for a singleplayer DLC, R* has confirmed that it's not happening.
In conversation with Game Informer, Rockstar's director of design Imran Sarwar suggests the scale of the base game, the next-gen console and PC launches of 2014 and 2015, and work on the forthcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 has, in essence, made subsequent single player story modes unfeasible for Grand Theft Auto 5.
"As a company we love single player more than anything, and believe in it absolutely—for storytelling and a sense of immersion in a world, multiplayer games don’t rival single player games," says Sarwar. "With GTA 5, the single player game was absolutely massive and very, very complete. It was three games in one. The next-gen versions took a year of everyone’s time to get right, then the online component had a lot of potential, but to come close to realizing that potential also sucked up a lot of resources. And then there are other games—in particular Red Dead Redemption 2.
"The combination of these three factors means for this game, we did not feel single player expansions were either possible or necessary, but we may well do them for future projects. At Rockstar, we will always have bandwidth issues because we are perfectionists and to make huge complex games takes a lot of time and resources. Not everything is always possible, but we still love single player open-world games more than anything."
Not sure if I agree with it being "very, very complete"
