Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V12 - GTA Online: We Have a Hacking Problem
Oh my God, I've gotten 70x that amount in hackerbux since the games release, that basically means I've gotten (and subsequently spent) roughly 7k USD worth of GTA online cash. I still have about 40 million on me, so that's a cool 500 bucks worth of fun money to throw around, but it seems so trifling and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I feel gross just thinking about it.
I've been meaning to do some maths and work out whether doing import/export & gunrunning stock, then hypothetically if you could convert GTA dollars to real money using shark card rates, would net you more than minimum wage irl

That's an interesting idea, never really thought of real world application of earning GTA currency.
I've punched up some numbers in GBP based on the Steam prices for the Megalodon Shark Card:
8,000,000 = £60
I/E sell = 80k, is 1/100 value = 60p,
I/E cool down is 20 mins, so say we do it 3 times in an hour, 240k = £1.80 per hour
Bunker stock generates 1 stock of 7k every 7 mins (fully upgraded), so 7*8 = 56k in 56 mins
8k = 6p, 8*6p = 42p per hour in bunker stock
£1.80 + £0.42 = £2.22 worth of GTA$ per hour using just I/E and bunker.
Of course these are approximate times, so the actual true value of GTA$ earned is a bit lower per hour. Bunker stock can be sold for a percentage more in Los Santos, but I don't really want to calculate that to be honest, also there are other costs you incur while doing this stuff, but the hourly total is probably still above £2 an hour, so very much under minimum hourly wage.

This is what they bank on though, they know people will go "fuck, that's gonna take ages". When it comes to any game with this model of business (microtransactions in general), I believe an overwhelming majority of the ones that give in are the ones paying the lowest amount possible just to get over a specific hurdle. If 1,000,000 people pay $10 for a basic Shark Card, then they just made $10,000,000 in sales. Of course, that's not precisely how it breaks down, but that's the basic idea.
These systems are designed to intentionally target people who will go "Fuck it, what's $10? I need this thing right now." One and done, no big deal. They might do it again in a few months.
Coil Cyclone now available for $1,890,000.
Sale on Ultralight, AA Trailer, Technical Aqua, and Turreted Limo. Double cash/RP on Transform Races and Motor Wars.
Last two vehicles are the Hunter and the Lazer(in that order most likely). It seems like this tunables update did not include the transform races creator so we'll need to wait for that as well.
Cops dlc when
I just want that Hunter
Fucking aircraft themed update didn't launch with a proper helicopter
Well yeah, its one of the things people were going to want the most, of course it was going to be at the very end. They want to keep people coming back every week so player numbers stay inflated.
When do we get our naval update, aircraft carriers, battle subs and all. Get some water based, and underwater based combat. [sp]R* can even please T2 by copying MGS5's motherbase invasions, and add insurance so you keep your stolen supplies :V[/sp]
If they're going to add Mother Base, they'd better add respectable 3D beards so I can become the real Big Boss, just like the protagonist of MGSV.
Fuck it i just wanna work a decent honest job.

Is it just me or is the Coil Cyclone really fucking fast?
Is it just me or is the Coil Cyclone really fucking fast?
As far as I know, it has the best acceleration of any car in the game. It's not very good in races though because every other aspect of its performance is kinda shitty.

Well yeah I noticed the handling is God awful but the thing moves faster than most cars I've used with maybe the exception of the XA-21
So was there ever anything to make GTA IV not run like ass on PC? Any sort of mods or 'recent' patches I might not know about?
Modern hardware does what you want.

The fact that we have still have shitty ports of all the IV games makes me wonder if PC, and this new generation of consoles can expect a GTA IV re-release that doesn't run like ass, and allows you seamlessly play between 4, TLaD and TBoGT on one application. I'd say maybe a few new features as well, but that's probably too much for Rockstar.
I wouldn't get too excited even if it was going to happen, since it'd mean I'd have to pay again to fix the game that should have run smoothly almost a decade ago in the first place, and it still has troubles today.
I would definitely shell out some money for a GTA IV remaster. Hooking up the 360 just for that one game is a pain in the ass.
The Hunter is now apparently available. I'll update this post with any other worthy shit from the event.
[editline]d[/editline]
A lot of new transform races are now available and all transform races still have double cash/RP.
Sales on Tyrus and Rapid GT.
I don't see any other special stuff. Last vehicle we are getting with this update is the Lazer. We also do not have the transform races creator yet.
GTA 4's performance is so bipolar that I can run it at 4k, drop from 60 to 20 fps for 3 minutes straight and I wouldn't even notice the drop.
So, the new Hunter is all kinds of impressive. And it's a helicopter that explosive sniper griefers will think twice before engaging.
Even if it feels slightly more heavy than the Buzzard, its acceleration fully upgraded is phenomenal, as is its top speed and maneuverability. It's got flares to deter homing missiles. While it can be shot down by jet pilots with explosive cannons, a steady hand and the balls to follow the chopper down into the reeds or streets, it can tank three RPGs, four homing missiles, or eight explosive sniper shots before getting disabled.
Its barrage rockets have a relatively low explosive radius but are devastating if they're on target. Its homing missiles are powerful and have a wide explosion radius, and can be fired every second. The explosive cannon(operable only by the gunner) has a damage, rate of fire and range not unlike that of the Bombushka. In brief, this is the sort of firepower you want when you're pulling security on a CEO's convoy. Mediocre pilots will struggle to use it to its full potential, but in the right hands it is deadly.
I'm not going to talk about the fact it has a bomb bay because bombs on an Apache are stupid :v:

...Why can't I update the game? It seems to think it needs to be reinstalled and claims I don't have enough disk space?

It sounds awesome, but how does it handle? Does upgrading the handling significantly change things? In the hangar mission where you can use it to blow up the Merryweather beacons, it felt extra wobbly and unstable to me.

The fully upgraded version actually feels a bit more stable, and actually pitches and yaws more easily than the one in the hangar mission. It can reach a top speed of 175ish in straight, level flight, whereas the Buzzard gets only just above 140. If you maneuver it hard, you can make it arrest its movement very quickly indeed, it has a high degree of maneuverability.
Mind you, I'm someone who flies helicopters in GTA a lot, and I had no issue with lining up rocket runs to hit the jammers using the mission's own Hunter. So if you had trouble with it, you may not necessarily like it now that the pitching is even more responsive than before. However, if you put in the time to get used to it, it'll do anything you want it to. Alternatively, just keep the handling on a lower setting and just upgrade the speed, that feels nice, too.
SteamDB is showing updates to the qabeta branch for GTA V so we can probably expect an update soon. I really hope that we get something PvE for once instead of the usual rehashed work type that is restricted to public sessions.
Supposedly, Lispyleaf posted something that wasn't total clickbait and is actually working. Through currently unknown means, a Capture job is circulating on PS4 and POSSIBLY XB1 that has NPCs that drop 10K in cash per kill, resulting in an assload of money being able to be made.
Unless something changed, I believe this got patched already. If what somebody said is true about the way they patched it(apparently stops peds from dropping more than $50), it could potentially fuck up ped dropping cheats on PC as well.

Yeah, I was doing one of those last week.
Got myself enough for a Batmobile and a Hangar in about 30 minutes. Then stopped cause had stuff to do. But Rockstar deleted the job before I could redo it.
Motor Wars is a surprisingly good way to earn
That, and getting to shoot all those ridiculous vehicle weapons is fun
Are y'all ready to read something that'll make you ask "what the fuck did i just read" and contemplate existence? This is some future old gold that'll be reposted until it's banned on LMAO pics, straight from r/gtaonline.
Today I played with a low level player who bought a vehicle warehouse while we were playing and when he tried to do his first sale a high level player destroyed the vehicle. I felt so bad for him.
This game helped me understand how it's possible that things like the holocaust happened. There are ppl out there who truly enjoy abusing others who did nothing to them.
