Wait does silent money work again?
The Camacho is stupid fast for what it is with a stock engine.

The truck itself is cheap, relative to cars that have come out for the last couple years, but the mods are all very expensive.
But I think where you miss the point is that if you cheat for money, you didn't actually play the game, and you can't make any qualitative judgement about whether it's shallow, because you didn't play. You literally skipped all the content that would have been there that you would have had to play through in order to get the money.
Okay then, take it from someone who grinded over 40 million legit at a time when that money actually mattered in this game: GTAO is shallow as fuck. There is barely anything to do in this game except for grinding the same shit over and over for money.
Adversary modes are usually terrible so they die out as soon as double cash/RP ends. Older modes like DM, LTS, and Capture are usually dead(not like it matters since PvP combat is garbage). Racing was fun, but Rockstar wants to break the classes by releasing blatantly OP vehicles with every update. Replaying PvE modes is pointless because Rockstar barely gives us PvE content. Community created jobs can be fun, but Rockstar does not trust the community enough to give them access to more features/modes. You can buy new shit and customize it, but there is only so much you can do there before you get bored. Last option is freemode, and a player's enjoyment of that varies thanks to the amount of dickheads and cheaters that plague most lobbies.
Almost every update in this game adds shit to buy when we need shit to do. It was nice seeing three new heists added to the game with the latest update, but it really wasn't enough after receiving several updates dedicated to rehashing the same freemode work bullshit with slight differences.
Literally everything in the game pays you to do it. The game just gives you free money left and right. For pretty much any variety of activity you can think of. Hell there's damn near a half a million bucks in just completing the single player flight school challenges alone.
Sure, every activity may give you money, but the amounts given aren't enough when the price range of new updates seem to be in the 25-50 million range. The prices of property and vehicles have increased over time in GTAO, but the payouts have not.

Ok sure I can understand how that would be a problem if you wanted to buy all of the shit. But honestly I've been playing pretty much only this for weeks straight now just doing the stuff I actually want to do that I enjoy doing, and made over 10 million so far. Not a lot of money, so I bought a couple things I particularly liked, that I knew I would like because I got to play with them already in an activity that I enjoyed. Having played the game this way, even though I've put in over 200 hours in like a few weeks which is a lot of gaming for me, I haven't gotten burned out or run out of stuff to do, in fact I really haven't done anything. It hasn't felt like a grind at all and the few toys that I have bought myself are rewarding enough to make me look forward to getting to the next level.
Keep in mind I didn't play the online until just recently so I'm getting all of the content all at once rather than a drip feed like you guys who've played it for a while. So I can only comment on the game in it's current form and for what it is now, it's been a hell of a lot of fun, especially transform races and air quota. I can just race all day and have a great time. There are cars that break certain races but that's why you do races that require special or premium cars, level playing field and usually more fun because it's a special car.

I played legit with some friends for 2 months or so but we got very tired of grinding all the time to have some actual fun e.g. buying cars, modding them and go offroading or such. At the time Hackerbux just started to show up and once everyone of us had $100.000.000+ and we were able to do all the things we wanted involving money (which was always the biggest problem) we never went back. We got banned and lost all of our money but it was so worth it that we did it again and got banned again. After that I got a modded account with billions just because its so much more fun.
I can only talk about me and my friends here, but we just didnt feel like grinding and for us it destroyed the fun because it was more of a job for us then a game.
I for myself enjoy driving and modding cars more then anything else, so having the money to do it is great, but if some new gamemmode or heist comes up I play it if I want to. From what Ive read it seems like you think you can either grind the game and do missions or just be rich and not do missions, which is not the case at all.
The thing I dislike about the grind is; those of us that have busy lives really can't invest much time into it.
I have been working for months to build up $300k for a car i like, and i still only have $100k due to just not having time to play.
I also missed the deadline to transfer my old account over. I preordered and had 2mil on it.
So as someone with too many hours in Gta5 I'd like to weigh in on the whole gta is shallow thing.
It is, It just didn't start that way.
Rockstar slowly amped up the cost of EVERYTHING. When the game launched you could buy the fastest car in the game for 1 million dollars. Now we get shit like the Revolter, 1.6m for a slow shitty car with no customization options. Sure they added new ways to make money but there was always a caveat, businesses needed to be done in a public lobby where their notorious netcode and godawful community could destroy your hours of hard work in seconds.
The biggest fucking flags for me was when gun running came out. Let's say you wanted to buy a dune FAV with a grenade launcher. $1.135m without trade price. Ok lets get trade price for 850k. Well first you need to buy a bunker. The cheapest bunker is $1.1m. Now you need an MOC. The cheapest of which is $1.2m. So now you can do the mission you want to get trade price. Easy enough except they pay dick and we're not done paying. Now we can buy your lovely Dune for 850k. But wait you didn't spring for the vehicle workshop so now we're paying another 950k. Great now we can put a grenade launcher on our Dune. Oh wait we can't now we need to wait for the research to come up in the bunker, and then wait some more for it to finish researching. Oh and I forgot to mention it's totally possible for the grenade launcher to come up as the last research options. But hey you can pay to skip the wait.
So now you've dropped $3-4m of your hard earned Dosh and time only to find out the GL is junk anyway.
Every update has included some backwards shit of costs adding up just to get one neat thing you want.
Because that's what they want. They want you to just buy their absurdly priced shark cards and skip this bullshit. GTA is shallow. Every update is a scheme to get you to buy shark cards. The doomsday update is sort of forgiving in that regard but you still need to fork out some serious dosh to get a facility.
This is why people cheat money. And as someone whom to this day hasn't cheated money. I totally understand why people would cheat money.
[editline]7th February 2018[/editline]
And don't even get me started on the dripfeed bullshit.
I can't stress this enough. If you need money and you don't want to risk hackerbux, keep an eye on r/gtaglitches. There's been easy money glitches almost weekly since the doomsday stuff came out.

Back on topic.
Should I buy a Stromberg or a Deluxo? I want something that lets me survive rockets from people who try to kill me but still be suit for combat.

Strombergs can actually tank quite a few RPG hits, and it's missile tracking is great against Oppresors. Deluxo has ruiner-2000 tier missile tracking but it's armor can't even survive one RPG hit
overall I'd probably say the stromberg for combat. good against vehicles, its MGs do tons of damage and it can rank homing launcher hits
Wow, just had to deal with some complete prick flying a jet for the whole time I was in freemode. Just flying around blowing people up for no reason.
He ruined this spontaneous moment I had with another player too. I was robbing stores because I'm broke and my new bike costs over 5k to claim from insurance. Since stores have almost no cash, I had to hit a lot of them quickly so I was using a cargobob to escape the cops and move on to the next one. After my last store, I hop in the cargobob, and notice there's someone else just sitting in the bay as I take off.
He helped shoot down the police helicopters but that just made the cops angrier so I flew us to Mount Chiliead and then flew us higher and higher, intending to jump out once we hit the ceiling. That didn't happen however, because the griefer in the jet blew us up. All star rating and altitude gained just instantly gone, very anticlimactic.
Thankfully, my stowaway passenger then proceeded to whip out some fancy sniper, look off into the distance, fire rounds for about 30 seconds, and then it popped up that the griefer was dead.

I'm late on this, but I don't want to risk getting either my XBL account banned or my Social Club/game account banned. I heard someone on GTAGlitches say that Rockstar basically said "it's our fault you're k" in response to dupe glitches, but I haven't been able to find any sort of source on that claim. How likely is it actually that something will happen?

If you were going for satire you nailed it, that whole dragged out scene with the stock sad piano music had me dying
To the guy I saw and followed around for a bit in my Deluxo, it was nice to see someone else on Xbox One after like, years of no one else

That guy's dupes probably had stock license plates. If you have stock plates, R* can detect the duplicate plate number, if you use a custom plate, they can't detect it. You just have to be careful how you sell them. No more than 2 cars per hour, and no more than 8 cars per 30 hours. If you go over that, you risk reaching the sell limit, and then you'll only be able to sell a few cars per day.

TBH the only thing I'm concerned about right now is if my XBL account would get banned. Social Club/GTA would be a shame, but I've kinda already written it off for a bit. Maybe I get a few more years of fun out of it, maybe only a few months. Either way, more than I've been having. XBL on the other hand would leave me turbofucked because I've invested like 1000$ into the games+gold upkeep, and I'd rather not have it flushed down the drain just so I can enjoy a game that is seemingly designed to be difficult to enjoy.

You wouldn't get banned from XBL, that I'm 100% sure of.
The worst part about all the latest dupe glitches is that they all require a facility and an MOC, which means you need to have three or four million dollars in startup capital already. I just bought a vehicle warehouse and now I literally only have $1,000 to my name.
So how does the new Canis offroad jeep perform?
So how does the new Canis offroad jeep perform?
Assuming you're talking about the kamacho it'll go up any hill. It doesn't give a FUCK.
So i need some encouraging help right about now ...
I haven't played any kind of online for so long, i think it's way past a year if i recall correctly. And i had decided to get back into the online part, with a friend, who equally haven't played it for very long, and oh my fucking god, is this bad.
I get in, and not even a minute in, i am bombarded with texts, call, onscreen messages and some sort of fucking event and help me.
What happened to the gamemodes, you could go play couple of with friends, where'd you simply just fight a bunch of the rednecks rolling up in packs for a period of time. What was that type called, can i host it myself or something similar?
I don't remember the last time i've been so discouraged from getting back into a game after not having played it for long. I remember i left it because it had gone SO bad so quickly, but i don't remember it being this fucking terrible ...
What happened to the gamemodes, you could go play couple of with friends, where'd you simply just fight a bunch of the rednecks rolling up in packs for a period of time. What was that type called, can i host it myself or something similar?
That is survival and nothing has happened to it. You can launch it from the pause menu and host it, it's under jobs in the online tab.
There isn't much to be done about the spam of calls, emails, and other bullshit, but you can hide certain jobs/events through the interaction menu(M by default on KB/M). It's not much, but it might help a tiny bit with the amount of bullshit that the game spams you with.
That is survival and nothing has happened to it. You can launch it from the pause menu and host it, it's under jobs in the online tab.
So apparently, it's the one job type that's NOT unlocked for me. And if i understand the GTA wikia correctly:
They are first unlocked at level 15 when Ron notifies the player about them
I'm pretty sure i'm rank 19, or 55. Shit keeps flashing indifferently when i'm looking for it on the current player list in the session. I haven't gotten anything from Ron about it, i've been at Stoner Cement Works trying to look for anything that could suggest a tutorial event, which i need. I cannot find anything ANYWHERE. So that's just gravy.
What do i do from here?
And also, why are all the players STILL randomly just leaving all at the same time, leaving me in 'my own session' all of a sudden? I still remember this from way back from before i stopped playing online ...
They really need to revamp the phone system.
I don't need a call from Lester about a heist, a call from Lester about the Doomsday heist, a call from Malcolm about the Open Road/MC Work, a call from Agent 14 about buying a facility, and two emails advertising facilities and the avenger for sale EVERY TIME I load up online.
And that's just the immediate wave of spam. I still get Ron, Simeon and Madrazo bothering me regularly while I'm actually playing.
This shit bothers me and I know the source of the calls/triggers for all of them bombarding me. I can imagine how bewildering it would be for a new player.
Knowing Rockstar, instead of fixing how the phone works, they'll just release a new phone system that sits on top of the current system and costs 1 mill to get. It'll have much-sought out features like blocking calls and a persistent message sound OFF setting (so you don't have to reset that at the start of every session), but also, you'll be able to blow up any person in the session just by calling them.
With all the recent talk in the GTA community of abandoned content, the way I'm reasoning it is that the game being a mess of new slop piled on top of old 'forgotten' stuff, is that the game wasn't intended to be supported quite this long, so there's no real roadmap of where they want to take it (and they fired Leslie Benzies, whom was supposedly the main authority on designing and curating Online when it launched). Given that they're still raking in the cash, they need to keep the game ticking over, which probably means groups of developers are given a quota of content that needs to be met in updates.
A large amount of content is put into the game all at once under the banner of an update (Bikers, Smuggler's Run, Doomsday), and is roughly stretched over a 3 month period, and administered weekly. Building up content like this gives the developers enough time to throw things together for the next update that lasts for multiple months and also gives the appearance that the game is constantly being updated, new modes, new cars, new discounts, all on a weekly basis.
They will need to fill gaps in the update schedule, and this is where we get some of the poorer and less inspired gameplay elements, that haven't been built for the long-term, but cobbled together from existing assets and repackaged as a brand-new mode. I cannot speak too ill of the devs that actually sit and wrangle the code, because this must be pretty intensive to be consistently releasing tested, functional content that is actually pretty fun now and then. The people making the 'executive decisions' deserve no mercy, however.
In regards to how everything just seems to be layered, rather than inter-connected, each update is likely handled by different people, or even different studios. If my minimal and limited experience of working with different teams during software development has taught me anything, is that even documented coding can be a confusing mess, and tinkering with what someone else has made is sometimes best avoided in the case you break something and have to go through a time-consuming hunt just to have issues multiply.
At the end of the day, if the game isn't broken, and the suits are happy that the money is rolling in and the player numbers are up, then it's just going to be business as usual until people decide they're tired of the same old stuff.
Almost 2 years later and GTAO feels like a mmo Saints Row knockoff.
Not to mention everything costs a fuckload of money.
Is there a subreddit for money droppers or something like that? I don't feel like grinding shitty adversary modes for 2 months just to buy a bunker.
So i withdraw my previous inquiries i made here.
I finally managed to unlock survival. Unfortunately, during the course of 20 minutes, i only managed to complete one game, have my game lock up three times in the magical floating loading/connecting screen for whatever fucking reason, and having to spend even longer looking at the start up loading three god damn times, only to have the second game of survival randomly fuck up at the beginning of wave two, effectively locking up my game for the fourth time.
Pointless grinding, for the purpose of selling shark cards is not fun. Counterintuitive online play, where just starting a simple game with a few friends takes a good 10 minutes or something, is not fun. Being spammed to the fucking ground with absolutely irrelevant garbage, breaking your immersion and focus, OVER AND OVER, is not fun.
That's it. Fuck Rockstar.
From here on out, it's FiveM or nothing.
I don't think there's any other game that has made me feel less secure in my team's ability than GTA online.
any other game? fine, with some caveats on specific stuff.
this game? literally everything. pac standard finale? dude's gonna not know how to parachute. someone's gonna beach the dinghy. you are not safe. ever. racing? some dude is probably gonna suddenly be in front of you on the last stretch, or lag inside of your car and send you into the stratosphere. doing well in your adversary mode? your team quit. it's literally just you versus 4 other people, and one guy is extremely adamant in speaking very aggressive portuguese at you.
this online is for very patient people, or people with stockholm syndrome.
