Making HD universe Vice City gonna be a massive success or equally massive disappointment. tbh after GTAV I no longer optimistic for next game having a good story.
Modern day Vice City will anger half the fanbase imho (i might be pessimistic though) regardless if it's great or bad. Personally,i'd love to visit Las Venturas. And please, let the story feature only ONE big, grandiose heist instead of multiple ones ranging from mediocre to good
Kinda wish that the research in the bunker is not random and we can choose it ourselves, i really wanted the missile upgrade for my Oppressor but nope i got useless livery instead.
The research stuff is probably the dirtiest thing Rockstar has done with Online tbh.

Im sure they'll find something even worse.
It's funny how they did skip out on it in both Smuggler's Run and Doomsday, could've easily implemented a research system for plane mods like bombs or liveries, but for some reason they didn't. Can't be out of goodwill though...
They will likely have the data on how much in-game money has been sunk into things like research and adapt their approach accordingly. Perhaps Gunrunning was a testbed for introducing multiple paywalls to see which ones we were most accepting of. Maybe research didn't do so well and had a frosty reception, so it wasn't included in further updates, but the MOC might have sold well with less backlash so the Avenger was made as a rebranded air variation. I won't lie, if we get a sea-fairing dreadnought in the same vein I will surely be buying it.

Idk maybe nostalgia or because I didn't ever play through it before but it really was an incomplete game

Everyone has a tendency to look back at the older games and say "they were SO much better". But when they played those games for the first time they said "the previous game was actually better". When GTA4 came out people complained that is was too moody and serious, they wanted something more colourful, more exciting and interesting like San Andreas. GTA4 lacked SO many features and the game felt like it had been stripped down and gutted. When GTA5 came out everybody complained that it had departed from the depressing 50 shades of grey that was 4 and that it was too colourful and exciting. Honestly w/e R* do they're going to be doomed by the community who can't decide what they like and jump between opinions constantly.
What exactly made it "incomplete"? The story was pretty solid. Nothing over the top.
every mission including the last one could be done pretty much instantly by just whipping out a gun, and the final big showdown was just you standing there with a gun shooting the occasional guy that came in from one of 4 doors to rob you, including the boss and the guy that betrayed you. the big bank heist was nothing more than do 4 missions and then walk into a bank, walk out and drive to the pay n spray next door. the hatian cuban gang war was just drive up, shoot 4-5 guys and then stand in 4 spots to plant bombs and run up a ladder out of the compound. there were good missions but everything was fairly short with very little dialogue, and in the case of the hatian vodoo lady, made no sense whatsoever maybe a lot of it was just faults with the engine since you couldn't move and shoot and they might have had fairly limited scripting but san andreas in the first few missions has some pretty solid across city action
there were good missions but everything was fairly short with very little dialogue, and in the case of the hatian vodoo lady, made no sense whatsoever
San Andreas was the opposite. Shit was so bloated at times it made me drop the game for a few months. The damn fillers you have to go through before the game let you reach the next city is the definition of quantity over quality.
Sometimes I miss simple missions where you could just drive and shoot people. GTAV story only had gimmicky missions where you rarely get to use your guns because you gotta use a computer or a device or do something besides shooting. I have all the right to complain because back when GTAIV came out I liked the simple shoot and drive missions. Sometimes the best things in life are just that, simple. At the least that does the work for me. I don't like hearing Trevor jokes or having to control and RC helicopter to take pictures of someone just to steal their car in a cutscene.
Tunables updated for the new event this week. Bunker adversary modes and Occupy are on double cash/RP. Sales on Cyclone, Rapid GT Classic, T20, Akula, Bombushka, Rogue, APC, Technical, Turreted Limo, Dump, and Alpha Z-1.
Is there anything that can really be done anymore? I really want to go back to playing GTAO but i lack motivation to do so Money shouldn't be an issue so i can do anything :v
I'm the same way. I turn it on, drive around for a minute, and then turn it off again.
I just stick around in hopes that they'll push out an update that actually gives PvE players something new to do and isn't some repetitive grindy bullshit. Doomsday was kinda nice, but I think they really need to do a lot more than that if they're going to have a dripfeed that lasts three months for every update.
Hopefully next week's double cash event will be better. Proper double money events are getting so rare now
so how come the bug where you're not automatically set as an associate still exists? had to restart the bogdan problem so many times because of that

Can anyone summarise the current state of GTA modding on PC?
SP modding is definitely a thing, just don't try to go online. I don't know much about multiplayer modding. FiveM still seems to be going strong tho probably 1 C&D away from getting shutdown.
It would be interesting to see what kind of story they could go for if the next GTA is in Vice City. The original Vice City was a homage to the neon 80s with drug lords but that time has long since passed.
My dream is to see some 80s vision of the future setting for a GTA game in vice city, but i know that ain't happening as cool as it'd be. But i wouldn't mind another return to the 80s, or a setting that pays homeage to it. The fact that the time has passed in our world, wouldn't mean it did in the GTA world.
The game's kind of starting to lose me again. I gave it another shot, grinded for some cars (the 190z is fuckin' sick) but there doesn't seem to be THAT much to do. Rarely you'll get to join the adversary mode of the week, which spoiler alert is almost always going to be "shoot people with small gimmick", and once in a blue moon you'll join a heist, and only if all the planets of Sol and Alpha Centauri align together to form a line will you find people who aren't complete idiots. The grinding is getting increasingly difficult because you're at the mercy of people who either cheated money or paid real money to buy an invisible helicopter coated in gold and chrome, along with a gold/chrome tank with a railgun and insurance costs, and a fucking Delorean with rockets, all of which is about to be rendered completely obsolete when Ron's Batshit Meth Binge comes out with a flying saucer, plasma rifle, and explosive round assault rifle.
I'm surprised they still haven't done double money/rp on the doomsday stuff. They did that for the original heists a few weeks after they came out.
I don't think we will ever get that, same reason why we probs won't ever get double money for special vehicle freemode missions ever again: pays too well. A well co-ordinated team of 2 players can do the entire act 3 of the doomsday heist in about one and a half hour, and that's quick money even now, imagine how it'd be with double cash
Except act 3 is absolute fucking cancer with its endless horde of nanoaugmented skinheads. I rather repeat Bogdan.
Farming Act 1/2 by strategically exiting your game at the right moment pays out much better than Act 3, and they're much more fun than having to waste a bunch of ammo on infinitely spawning enemies.
After a lot of menus were taken down (cease and desist), Online has become a lot more... cleaner but modding is still a thing. The remaining menus are mostly non-grief related ones (so no caging, blowing up lobbies etc) in the hopes Take2 don't come knocking (which makes sense) but there's still a few who sell mostly to the 12 year old griefing crowd.
