Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V12 - GTA Online: We Have a Hacking Problem

It's not because of a mod-menu. If you use one of those mod-menus that detects other cheaters, currently everyone in a lobby, even people confirmed not to have a menu are showing up as cheaters. R*'s anticheat is flagging people left and right. It's like fucking Khe Sanh.
Seems more like the tunable to enable 2x XP and $ for events to be honest. Did the other tunables for those have a similar string?
I don't think that would be the case as double cash and RP has been active since the release of this update and TURNON_AC_HOTRING was apparently added yesterday/early today.
Interesting.
Well, last time I opened gtav was on tuesday when the time trials refresh. Guess I won’t play gta online for next a few days
I wonder what the fallout will be this time
This may have been posted already (it was 10+ days ago it came out) but here's and LSPDFR blog on customization
http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/82570-lspdfr-04-epic-customization/
"LSPDFR 0.4 gives you the ability to add your own custom law enforcement agencies, each with their own officers, outfits, inventories, vehicles, police stations and patrol areas. "
Glad i checked forums and reddit before playing today, this is a real big fuckup, even larger than the previous two.
And knowing Rockstar, people will never be unbanned.
Yeesh. I initially thought with all the posts on reddit it was another one of those "help i spawned in 500 billion and orbital cannoned the entire lobby at once repeatedly and got falsely banned" posts. And then another one popped in, and then another one, and then people with a thousand hours started posting their plight. And then R*'s twitter feed started exploding. There's just way too many people talking about it for it to be false at this point.
It amazes me how hard Rockstar always manages to screw something up with every update.
You know, i never imagined this would be true this fast
Broughy actually brought up an interesting thought - they may be testing new things for future titles. By making people buy million dollar cars.
The anger is mostly over how support is useless and innocent players filing a ticket receive a canned bot response saying bans are are final before closing the ticket.
Oh and there was a transcript of someone (on Reddit I think) contacting a support agent who said the "anti-cheat very rarely makes mistakes" and "this is has not been caused by a problem on our end" which is absolute horse shite.
Apparently a lot of cheaters aren't even being banned. At least 3 of my friends used mod menus to get billions of dollars, so I'm wondering how it's fared for them. Of course, they're not gonna open up the game to check because they want to keep their characters.
That's what always happens. Very few hackers actually get banned, it's mostly always legit players
So if anyone is interested, there's a currently active completely solo dupe glitch. Bad news is, I can only get it to work about 5% of the time.
Things required:
Facility, full garage.
Regular garage, full of cars to over-write.
Car you want to dupe, with custom plates.
Instructions:
Set your spawn location to the garage full of cars to over-write. Get in your car you want to dupe, and get to your facility. Either drive or accept your invite to teleport.
Step out of facility, get into car, attempt to drive in.
This is the really, REALLY hard part. Accept the prompt saying "blah blah ur gayrage full", and as fast as humanly possible, switch sessions. You need to be fast with this, to an almost absurd degree. Press the pause button immediately and either join a friend's session (faster, but not needed) or switch sessions manually by pressing up three times.
Assuming step three worked, you will spawn into your garage, and get a prompt to over-write a car with your dupe. Pick any that you're willing to sacrifice. If this all worked, congratulations. You've successfully duped a car.
Since I see some GTA IV content being shared I'll throw my own OC from... 9 years ago? Shit I'm old.

Tunables just updated on PC, TURNON_AC_HOTRING no longer seems to be present. If that was actually the cause of false bans, it should safe to go online now.
I take it Rockstar still hasn't said a damn thing?
They'll probably say it wasn't their fault.
I wouldn't expect anything from them. They never said anything when their anti-cheat fucked up a few times before.
It's rockstar, they won't say anything, or unban anyone.
Ordeals like this makes you wish there'd be laws in place forcing game devs to actually have proof of wrong doings etc.
you'll just get a phone call from Lester every new session saying "hey pal, you wanna not be banned? head on over to maze bank foreclosures and buy the new underground Flaccid Cock statue for just $3,700,000. By the way, you'll also need the new $2,300,000 supercar which can be outpaced by a base game sports car, which you'll then have to mod at the optional $4,500,000 garage to get the $200,000 "please don't ban me for no reason again Rockstar" livery"
then 5 minutes later you get the same phone call
Thank God they removed the tunable, but they seriously love to monumentally fuck up when it comes to this shit. I've been lucky I haven't been banned in ages. Especially considering I ped dropped about 40 million for the Doomsday Heist. But it's awful to be banned knowing you never did anything.
that's nothing

A quick update to the anti-cheat situation:

I don't think I've seen anything done for the falsely banned players yet. I can't wait for some people to get unbanned and for Rockstar to never mention it or change their idiotic policy on bans.
Did people seriously think that was something anti-cheat related? Did they just forget about the Hotring Racing from Vice City and San Andreas?
It's not like it's far fetched to assume it's anti cheat related.
TURNON_AC_HOTRING
Turnon - Anti Cheat - Hotring Update.
Nobody forgot about Hotring Races, people assumed it was some anti-cheat thing for the new Hotring Races that Rockstar pushed out. The reasons people believed that this tunable was the cause was because it had AC in it, it was the only noticeable change before the anti-cheat banned a bunch of innocent players, and I'm fairly certain that this thing only showed up on the PC tunables.
