Grand Theft Auto Series Megathread V12 - GTA Online: We Have a Hacking Problem

When I saw that NPC buzzards can rotate their miniguns to hit you when you're behind them I gave the fuck up on ever doing I/E again, because to hell with that shit.
I think the juggernauts might be the dumbest fucking shit I've seen in a video game in a solid decade, no word of a lie. They're not even difficult they're just a mounting stack of garbage.
I really like selling special cargo in the Brickade because with the sounds and the handling I like to go first person and pretend I'm driving one of these:

The brickade looks nothing like it but the noises it makes sound similar to it and driving it through extremely narrow streets while dodging cars, invading lanes and skipping red lights makes it feel a lot more real and charming. It's the closest I get to feel at home inside GTA.
Hats off to LoadGamePL here. A lot of good childhood memories in HD...

You live in a bus?
I only played hotring when it came out which was my first time playing in the whole year and it bored me out so damn quickly
When will this game actually add something fun again
The one good thing about hotring races is that everyone has the same car, so it's an even playing field.
Unless the host allows custom vehicles for some reason.
The Caracara and the Target Assault races are apparently out now(I don't think the ban issues have been resolved yet so this is going by what other people are reporting). Assuming they don't delay things, we should have only two weeks left of dripfeed since they seem to be releasing groups of vehicles in this update.
Is it safe to go onto Online or are people still getting banned?
I still wonder what caused the bans because I've been playing this whole time and I have no problems.
I've gone on a few times and haven't been banned. Spent much of last night doing Hotring Races and random jobs with a friend.
Nothing confirmed so far
I was playing a couple nights ago for a few hours and was fine as well. I've seen a couple mentions that it might tie in with some programs that are designed for resource monitoring and such or else for game-specific features. Which might indicate that they were hooking in to the game somehow in a way a lot of players hadn't realized and the system was being far too sensitive about it.
I think the point where I decided to stop playing GTA Online was when I discovered the absolute depths that the grinding process went through was absolutely not helped by the enormous amount of loading screens to get in and out of missions, races, and heists. GTA Online combines having some of the most flabbergastingly bad UI I've ever seen in a AAA game with some super questionable design decisions that make it absolutely feel like an afterthought, even though they cancelled single-player DLC development for more GTA Online content.
I'm completely averse to playing RDR2 unless I see that they've made doing something as simple as joining a race not take fifteen minutes of loading screens to do.
The worst part is the fact that the server sometimes shit itself and kicks players into another session on their own, which basically ruins every single job that you can do?
Gotta deliver weapons/drugs/stuff? LET'S SEE YOU DO THAT WHEN SUDDENLY YOU'RE ALONE HAHAHAHA
nothing beats having to restart the entire fucking game via task manager because the game is unable to load a goddamn lobby
Loading screens are the #1 thing that deter me from doing anything in online that would involve me sitting through loading screens. They can take so horribly long to finish
Thats if it even loads at all. Even on my ssd I get cursed with infinite loading screens to the point I have to kill the game process.
How the fuck have they not fixed the loading?
^^^ignore this^^^
I always jump on GTA for a bit thinking, "alright, let's help some random people with heists. See how it goes."
*loading....*
You have been kicked
*loading......*
Network error has occurred
*restart the game*
*loading...*
"Finally! I joined a heist!"
*one person leaves as soon as the mission starts*
I love this game, but holy shit the matchmaking is garbage.
If I ever find that one person who leaves the heist as soon as it starts I will actually kill them
Sometimes the player experiences a connection error which kicks them off a game. My crew were about to tear me a new one as I had to explain it to them.
Fair warning, I am going to be closing this thread when I wake up tomorrow. Feel free to create threads on the topics you're discussing in here. We're trying to encourage people to spread out more, be liberal with the thread creation button. Don't group everything into one thread!
I don't even get that far. I load in, mess around in my wardrobe, check on any new items that have been released, drive around for a few minutes, and log off again.
You can prevent having to restart by using the resource monitor trick (Suspending GTAV in the Network tab for about 10 seconds) the loading screen will finish and it will put you in a solo lobby. after that you can look for another lobby the normal way.
But i like everything being in one thread, it's really convenient.
somebody just make another megathread, that'll show 'em!
we're barely getting a post a week, who the fuck thought splitting it up even more is a good idea?
This subforum should really be renamed to cover Rockstar Games in general instead of just GTA.
Just saw this on Twitter

They don't know if the revenue figure includes the shark cards.
I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of revenue is players having to buy new CD Keys because R*'s anti-cheat banned them over and over for whatever reason (literal modder or innocent player like the recent wave).
