Something that really needs to be fixed is the accuracy of your character with a melee weapon. It takes on average 10-20 hits with a baseball bat to kill a zombie, while getting bit trying to do so. There is no point to actually killing them. Its ridiculous.
Go for further away attacks, if they get close move away and hit them with the end of the bat, if they're up close it's more of a struggle and you don't do as much damage
what bug is this?
How do you chamber a round in a pistol? I loaded a magazine, put it in the gun, then got eaten trying everything I could think of to make it fire.
I see a lot of new screenshots. Did RC3 come out?
RC2.9, basically rc3 minus npcs
I see a lot of new screenshots. Did RC3 come out?
[del]no.[/del] Almost, it's RC2.9.
RC2.9, basically rc3 minus npcs
actually its minus .1
I am enjoying the fact that my first "successful" character is a construction worker whose only shirt is a pink tank top who also lives in a house where all the drapes and curtains are pink. Also, which is particularly better: the Kitchen Knife or the Frying Pan.
Disregard
fuck, this game is hard! How do you even survive? there's zombies fucking everywhere, and I can't find shelter without them overwhelming me. someone please teach me how to zomboid.
Also has anyone made a map yet?
Frying Pan. Mostly because with the Kitchen Knife, it's easier to get injured. but the pan acts like a baseball bat.
I think the pan does low damage. Knife is very risk/reward, but even then it is hard to get a good hit. I'm not sure if you need to aim the cursor on the dude to get proper damage done.
Frying Pan. Mostly because with the Kitchen Knife, it's easier to get injured. but the pan acts like a baseball bat.
Speaking of pans. Nearly 5 days of bone shattering, skull bashery, and other assorted instances of brutality while wearing a pink tank top with a beard.
Also has anyone made a map yet?
The updated tools havent been released yet :c
It seems that climbing over fences is broken for me. Every time I try, I just stop and stand still at the fence. Can't even move.
It seems like this build is extremely hard to play purely because there are hundreds of incredibly long roads that lead nowhere at all and I'm getting real fucking bored of running down empty roads with nothing alongside them or within miles of them for hours.
Sneaking by zombies also seems way harder too. Like in the older builds I used to just skulk around alleys and break into the backs of houses, but now it seems like every road leads into a big horde of zombies, and the only way to progress is by slowly picking a path through littler groups. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] I'm not adverse to that as a design choice, It's pretty neat and even 3 on 1 fight can feel frantic, but I still miss sneaking and shit.
I wish we could play the new update on the old map. This map is really, really bad. Everything even in town is too far apart and there are too many aimless roads to nowhere you get stuck on for hours and ugh
Go for further away attacks, if they get close move away and hit them with the end of the bat, if they're up close it's more of a struggle and you don't do as much damage
BAM! This x 10000 :) [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline]
It seems like this build is extremely hard to play purely because there are hundreds of incredibly long roads that lead nowhere at all and I'm getting real fucking bored of running down empty roads with nothing alongside them or within miles of them for hours.
Stay in Muldraugh - the town is pretty huge and you can immediately tell if you've started to run down a road into under/non developed outskirt areas because the road markings and blending disappear suddenly: And re: your last comment. If you're not happy with the game, I recommend leaving it until the official release when the map will be more complete. but please consider the fact that two of our team (who read this forum) spent literally months making the new map, drawing thousands of tiles and using actual satallite info from google maps to make it as authentic as possible after ENDLESS criticism about how the old map didn't make any sense and didn't remotely resemble a US town ( and the old map took one of them a weekend and was slapped together with much less thought) so knowing we read these forums a little more tact in basically saying that months of work is 'really bad' would go a long way.
lemmy you are so cool also the weapon spawn mod makes sandbox ridiculous
My current game just ate itself into a black oblivion. One of my duffel bags became a bag of holding and went way over x/40 limit. At about 80/40 and stuffing more in, my game slowly ate itself up and now my screen is black on that save.
Even staying in the town proper everything feels way too far off, too sparse, too depopulated. It doesn't feel like there should be this many zombies since I've only seen like two dozen trailers and a couple little houses. I like the new update, I just wish I was back on the old map. This one feels like everything is too far apart to the point that looting and traveling is just boring and I don't want to do it.

Is there a map of the current layout?
I think cooking is broken. I put an uncooked bowl of ramen in the oven, and hours would pass and it wouldn't change, then I broke into a neighboring house to use their microwave, and it still didn't cook. I had it in there for another couple of hours! Eventually I gave up and just ate it raw because the sun went down and I wanted my guy to go to bed. EDIT: Why are all these zombies holding sheets? I just killed a mob of ~8 and 6 of them were carrying sheets. They're supposed to be zombies, not ghosts. EDIT: Either way, my guy is scared out of his mind.
did you mix the ramen with water?
did you mix the ramen with water?
That's the only way you can make the item titled "a bowl of ramen" I think. I took my bowl, filled it with water from the sink, and crafted the sucker. I think steaks were taking a long time to make, too. And TV Dinners, but I have a feeling the steak wasn't cooking because I put it in the oven without a pan of some sort.
so does anyone else get this glitch? can't access a lot of the map because it happens in random areas
oh it's a new town altogether? i thought it was just like a different section of the county, aw man I miss the old town :(
so... there are a lot of zombies in this version. Even on low there are dozens around every corner - any plans to change the density?
