Heh, they did. It is on the download page near the top. Also, is there a way for people who are interested in submitting bugs to gain access to the mantis bug tracker? I had used it a couple years back in the first few versions, unless you guys don't use that anymore. I feel as though I am just mentioning bugs you already know. I tried indiestone.com/mantis but that just takes me to the forums now.
Yeah, but that's all "fancy pants words" for most people, sadly.
I love getting rated dumb for being right
if you're refering to recent events, there's a difference between him getting mad at people acting like the bugs in this game are a radical redesign, and people actually talking about bugs. noone is acting entitled and i dont think you really know what the word means
tbh I'm just happy we have RC2.9, bugs or no bugs. It's still good fun to play.
So is RC3 out yet or are we still on RC2.9?
..the post above you.
Another 10 hour workday and there isn't a new version out yet :[ I can't ever be happy ;-;

If you honestly cannot see it I dont see any point in discussing it further because its been made clear by people other than myself as well. Also I wouldnt call it narcissistism per se. I am a bit self satisfied though. But can you blame me really. I could understand saying I told you so is pretty annoying though, but I cant help but point it out. also i'd rather not perpetuate this shit any further. i just want to see people be more humble about having recieved a broken build that the devs really rather would have not put out. but everyone whining about how long it's taking and the other complete assholes putting on immense pressure saying bullshit like the entire point of the game is to just scam people and not release anything. all these buggy builds you guys have are your doing in the end, not theirs if you really think about it. if you just would have waited patiently you'd have a build that would have been much better than what we have now. then again i gotta say the devs themselves need to stop bending to the community so much. yeah sure it sucks to alienate your fanbase but you gotta draw a line in the sand to where you simply wont take their shit anymore. indiestone, this is your game, in the end you don't owe us anything.
I was wondering why I was kicking so much ass with my fire axe on my previous character before he died, forgot that I set the zombies toughness to fragile. Now that all of the sandbox options are set to normal, I'm scared to venture too far outside my house.

Also, unrelated, I'd totally whack it to the ability to disable/tune certain elements of the game. Like being able to change how the weather acts, what the temperature is, being able to disable the "zombies in your line of sight" or adjust it. I don't know.
The only thing I feel is missing are more urban areas, like, sometimes I think I'm in the middle of a forest and some people decided to live there, but it's not that weird and it may change with full release so I guess I'm just happy I can die every few minutes and complain that the game is hard.

Survived for 3 whole days, was running along a fence, took a turn into some woods, swarm of zombies, couldn't get back because there were too many, sad life. Man I even had a fully barricaded house with awesome curtains.

I am a bit self satisfied though. But can you blame me really. Yeah I can. People disagree with you, yet you see yourself as self-claimed right. I could understand saying I told you so is pretty annoying though, but I cant help but point it out. So far you aren't doing anything to prove your point. also i'd rather not perpetuate this shit any further. i just want to see people be more humble about having recieved a broken build that the devs really rather would have not put out. but everyone whining about how long it's taking and the other complete assholes putting on immense pressure saying bullshit like the entire point of the game is to just scam people and not release anything. You want us to be humble about receiving a broken build which we then turn around and report bugs/problems AND discuss them? Why? THATS THE POINT OF IT. They released it because the community was growing restless, and we got exactly what we wanted, a build to bide the time. they're fixing bugs and furthering towards RC3. This shit would just have come up later. Also, like, nobody here is saying anything about them scamming people and it's pretty obvious they aren't. all these buggy builds you guys have are your doing in the end, not theirs if you really think about it. if you just would have waited patiently you'd have a build that would have been much better than what we have now. Do you think developers just figure out every single bug on every type of system ever? Most of these bugs aren't due to "omg u guise, u rush3d them", it's due to them not being perfect human beings, and we're helping, or trying to, fix that. Nobody's complaining that it's unfinished, or that it's got too many bugs. then again i gotta say the devs themselves need to stop bending to the community so much. yeah sure it sucks to alienate your fanbase but you gotta draw a line in the sand to where you simply wont take their shit anymore. indiestone, this is your game, in the end you don't owe us anything. Yeah... they do? We paid for the game y'know, it's not free... I mean, I hate to say it like that, but really, we PAID for a product, or the eventual finish of the product. Sidenote: I find it ironic, the only reason I can think that you would think this is because of how much they ARE involved in the community, you think of them as your friends so you don't see this as us buying it from them. If they alienated themselves from the community, pretty sure you wouldn't think this. Good developers listen to the people who want to play the game.
Ugh, take it to the PMs. I didn't want to read it when it was posted, I sure don't want to read it when it is bolded.
Ugh, take it to the PMs. I didn't want to read it when it was posted, I sure don't want to read it when it is bolded.
Oh, sorry, is our discussing of PZ in the thread made to discuss PZ bothering you?
When it's just you two flamers spamming the board with your senseless bitching, yeah it kind of does.
I mean the current build isn't "seriously" playable I think, I don't think it's possible for anyone to rationally survive for a good amount of time for the current build. I don't enjoy 2.9 for its bug-free gameplay, I like playing it because it's a reminder on how hard the indie stone has wored on inn the past few years and I can only dream of the day when these bugs are solved and more content is added and this project zomboid becmomes the game of ar3e dreams.

I lasted 16 days but only because my moodles weren't lowering like they should. I look forward to the next builds where they will be fixed. A lot of the fun was getting soaked by flash storms, or trying to haul as much food back to your base, only to still see that it isn't enough. Are weather effects such as thunder, lightning and high wind going to make an appearance eventually? I would love to see my dude huddled in his unlit house in the dark of night, clouds blocking the moon leaving the sky pitch black, and the only illumination is the sudden loud crack of lightning. This flash both a blessing and a curse, as it reveals you to the horde just outside. Ooh ooh! Or how about just hearing the sound of the rain against the house. I love it when games have unique audio acoustics to the environment they are in. Minecraft did this with hearing rain from inside, as well as the outside. L4D2 did a really good job, too. You guys must be much more patient than me playing this game. As soon as triple-oh-seven is released and I have enough breathing room to get myself situated I am going to be playing this game like there's a zombie apocalypse tomorrow.

I do appreciate their attention to environmental awareness with their sounds though; few developers bother to go that extra length but it really makes a difference when they do.

A good selection of environmental sound effects can make a huge impact on the feel of the game, as well as immersing the player in the world.
I disagree, I currently have the same character going on over 26 days now..
Maybe I just suck at it Tell me your secrets [editline]4th May 2013[/editline] So I decided to take it slow for once holy shit it works Although some kind of map would help, I'd love to know where some good safespots are
java.lang.RuntimeException jave.lang. IllegalArguementException: URI can't be null Anyone know why I get this error? I keep getting it every time I try to input my key(I bought the game off Desura).
finally got the alpha survived 3 hours ): went into sandbox now and changed some zombie spawning settings.. if it goes the same where there were hordes everywhere ill just wait for the next buuild but so far the game has evolved soo much! its like a brand new game
Maybe I just suck at it Tell me your secrets [editline]4th May 2013[/editline] So I decided to take it slow for once holy shit it works Although some kind of map would help, I'd love to know where some good safespots are
I play on Sandbox with Low zombies, common loot and shamblers. *Take things slow and steady like you're actually in the setting the game puts you in, you wouldn't just run through a huge horde of zombies hoping something good is on the other side. *Never carry what you don't need. Do you really need all those coffee tins and risk becoming over encumbered and eaten? *The house you start off in/near? That's your new safe house until you find something better, keep all the stuff here that you can. You don't want to risk becoming over encumbered. *Only go outside if you have a plan where to go (not to just explore the area) and can see a direct path to it. *Always check windows and doors for any signs of zombies outside, sneaking inside a house to look out windows is helpful too. *Hold down CTRL when you move causes you to sneak - sneak along side fences/walls/treelines and you're harder to spot. *Sneak around corners, you can sneak peek around corners, too many zombies - do not go that way. *Only run if you're being chased... running around outside if you're not being chased is a good way to run right into a horde. *You're better off running instead of trying to fight using a pen, pencil or a knife as a weapon... I only engage in melee combat if I have a baseball bat or an axe. *The axeman trait is your good friend... can be the difference between an instant swinging kill instead of you just pushing them over. *Use a pistol to attract zombies to a certain area while you run around and loot another. *Stick to grass, walking on the road is really obvious and attracts more zombies than walking on the grass beside the road. *If it's meat - cook it, don't even think about eating it raw. ** There is a fast food place with a huge fence on side (drive thru) and a small disposal area with some dumpsters... This building is a great safe house, it has three fridges, multiple shelves, cupboards, ovens and even crates. The only thing it doesn't have is a bed, so you'll need to sleep in a chair in the dining area, but I've been here for over 30 game days now and it's safe. I've only had to barricade the back window in the drive-thru alleyway... if I'm out looting and zombies chase me.. it's easy to run up the drive thru and duck into the small bin disposal area and in through the door - by the time the zombies get to the drive-thru area, I'm nowhere to be seen and they forget about me.
Can you open those big garage doors somehow?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong but right now I can't seem to be able to enjoy playing this new version. I spend my time running from one small house in the middle of nowhere to the other, and because houses are so small and isolated I don't feel it's even worth making my safehouse there. I can't seem to find an actual city complex where I can settle down and start to scavenge. Finding an axe or barricading material is out of the question either, and I'm still not sure whether farming is even in the game yet because I have seeds but absolutely no clue how to use them Halp
