Guys, can someone re-upload the new build somewhere? Cant use torrents :( Nevermind, found a link on the forums.
i'd like it if there was a better way to tell if you were infected. also for scratches to transfer less. from what i hear a tiny knick is all it takes. generally speaking a zombie bite is lethal, even if they didn't do much tearing. it's sort of the same principle as getting bitten by a snake, but for some reason it just makes you expire faster even though there's no venom and even in media where everyone is already infected, a bite will still do you in even if it's only a flesh wound. you've seen it time and time again in pretty much all form of zombie media. but the main reason why they're lethal is transference of the virus or whatever causes it. i'd think just getting scratched would bring about a much less likelihood to get killed from "zombie venom".
That's not why you die. You die because the wound is infected. Not because of "zombie venom".
That's not why you die. You die because the wound is infected. Not because of "zombie venom".
You die because the virus kills you and then you reanimate.
Changing reloading difficulty doesn't work anymore... Even if you change it to hardcore it will still be seen as easy.
Fixed indoor zombie spawning bug.
Great, last build i was solid snaking my way around and making good progress on provisions until i broke into a house and five zombies simultaneously burst out of the nearest bathroom the fuck were they doing in there
Five zombies simultaneously burst out of the nearest bathroom the fuck were they doing in there
Zombies can increase their numbers in other ways than biting...... Queue zombie kids being added in next update.
I put the test build into full screen and it crashed, now I can't get it to open and play. Any suggestions?
These alarms always scare the shit out of me, holy shit.
Biggest goddamned horde I've ever seen. Easily. Heard some racka-tacka-tacka of some idiot going full auto with an AK, then the entire national guard flew overhead, and I thought "Wow it must be over now, maybe I can move." Open a window, all seems good-- WEE-WOO-WEE-WOO-WEE-WOO FUCK GOD DAMN IT SON OF A BITCH 1080 back handspring, hunker down against a tree line. Then 5. 5 became 15. Then 50, suddenly my entire screen was covered in green deadites trying to find whatever is making that infernal wee-woo racket. I watched them rip the entire house apart, covering it like fucking ants. As I slowly made my egress back into the trees and ran like Usain Bolt away from that house. Never looked back. Oh, and now that I've thought back on it, I said probably the funniest thing I've ever spoken out of context during the entire event. They don't see me.. oh thank god, they're all retarded. And for whatever reason, there's a shinedown song that's so hilariously fitting to starting out in PZ that it's crazy. I've got a candle, and I've got a spoon. I live in a hallway with no doors, and no rooms.
I hope we get to use explosives soon.. I need a quick way to dispose of big hordes.
In my most recent run, I found a sledge hammer for the first time. Thinking I was golden, I proceeded to venture a bit further out from my operating zone. I quickly discovered the many strengths and weaknesses of the sledge hammer. Massive damage and the ability to take out multiple zombies at once, but as soon as zombies get into attack range, you can't do shit. Honestly, I could see the appeal in using it, but I performed much better wielding just the regular hammer.
I hope we get to use explosives soon.. I need a quick way to dispose of big hordes.
I mean you should be able to rig something together. Like.. Improvised Explosive Device: Requires 1 propane canister/gas can, duct tape, 20 nails, 1 electric-motion-sensor doorbell, 1 battery. Place the nails on the adhesive side of the canister, wrap around it. the doorbell will attract zombies, and the motion sensor will emit a spark that will detonate the container. Depending on which container you use, gas cans will start a big fire that will wipe out a medium sized area, and burn anything around it, while a propane tank will take out a far larger area but leave no residual effects afterwards. Oh and this makes an unbelievably large amount of noise. Welp, I'm going to work. See you guys in 10 hours. Do something extravagant for me to look at when I get back <3

Manhacks, where are they when you need 'em...
they should really add a map item, would be some what hard to find but would allow you to see the layout of the town
Personally I find it weird that you don't know your way around town at all yet you live there. Not having any kind of map in the current context of the game doesn't make any logical sense at all. Unless they changed the story to "I just moved in, and then hell broke loose", because then not knowing where anything is would make sense. Maybe the map could be only areas where the character is familiar with. I.E. if they could select an occupation or something, their in-game "map" would show nearby businesses, everything along the main street on the way to work, places like the grocery store, businesses near work, etc but wouldn't show areas of town that you would have never frequently traveled through for it to be memorable enough to show up on the map. So like a former police officer would show on the map how to get to the police station, certain roads/areas frequently patrolled, and nearby grocery stores but nothing else. A pizza guy would show most of the map within a 4.5mi radius of the pizza place or something, but would offer no real benefits outside of that.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyone wanna explain exactly how to install the new 0007 build? I have the original PZ in my Desura but when I download the 0007 torrent, and merge the files with the ones in my Desura folder and then run through Desura, it doesn't work.
nobody??
nobody??
You're not supposed to run it through Desura.
This game looks interesting and fun, is the test build worth the money?
New record. 13 days 5 hours I had been scratched a couple days before that and thought I was in the clear. Then I started feeling pain.. It got worse, then I felt sick.. I was dieing. I decided to eat my favorite precious foods. I had me a steak, 4 bags of chips, some bananas and a cheese sandwich. I then took my trusty hammer and went out and killed over 100 zeds. Then got overwhelmed and finally died. In my life time I survived for 13 days, 5 hours.. Killing a total of 249 zombies.
You die because the virus kills you and then you reanimate.
What virus? You mean the virus you're already infected with? AFAIK everyone's infected, everyone that dies turns, no matter how he dies.
What virus? You mean the virus you're already infected with? AFAIK everyone's infected, everyone that dies turns, no matter how he dies.
No, that's only a sandbox setting. In survival you're only infected if you get bitten or scratched.
What virus? You mean the virus you're already infected with? AFAIK everyone's infected, everyone that dies turns, no matter how he dies.
This isn't The Walking Dead. Anyway, what's the button for sneaking?
It can be though, I turn on Everyone's infected. I like that setting.
You're not supposed to run it through Desura.
Okay so could you please explain to me how to get it running? [editline]7th May 2013[/editline]
This isn't The Walking Dead. Anyway, what's the button for sneaking?
It's CTRL
So i got the new? build and yet im still finding hordes 24/7
Got it working. I actually decided to read through the error code in the CMD box this time. Turns out I just needed 64bit Java lol. [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] Anyone else get this? Where everything is fucking overlapping each other and you can't read shit? haha

Restart your game.
Did you just change your resolution? Restart your game.
Yes I did. Thanks for the fix.
The meta game events in the new build along with the new sounds really liven the game up. I was just strolling along, avoiding a few big groups of zombies with a couple of zombies following me that I didn't want to dispatch in case I made noise and attract one of the big groups, then suddenly a house alarm goes off somewhere nearby and one of the big groups start coming my way. I quickly took out the 2 zombies following me and hid up against a wall of a house watching a constant stream of zombies walk towards the area the alarm went off, straight by me. Shit was tense yo.
In my run, there were a shit load of zombies banging my door becouse i was silly enough to sprint- everywhere with out looking for any dangers then outta the NOWHERE i hear helicopters going on LOTS of them, i guess it had some sort of effect on the zombies becouse quickly they all went to " follow " them life saver
