surely it cannot be that obvious
it probably isn't just that so while it may not be as obvious or simple as that afaik this openGL driver issue is what's causing problems for many people
lots of people have cards with shit or old drivers that haven't been updated in years.
i tested what version of openGL i have, it was like 2 or 2.2 or something like that. so i'm certain that this driver issue is at least one of the reasons why i crash on startup
All I wanna do is play this now..

What are you doing tree?
You cannot be inside.
You are a tree.
It's not even Christmas.
...this is a motel.
Ugh, How do you craft in this build?
Will we be able to collect rainwater in the next build? Having the water supply break down after 14 days is quite annoying.
Ugh, How do you craft in this build?
if you have combinable items (i.e nails, hammer, bat) you can right click on one of them, it will say "Craft nailed bat" or whatever and there you go.

Is it possible to craft things that are in a storage thing like a counter? I would like to be able to craft my molotov on the countertop rather than in my pockets, as the gas can is really heavy and takes forever to grab.

No unfortunately right now you can only craft stuff in your main inventory.
I imagine at some point in the future it will change, but they have other priorities.
yeah like the stupid openGL bug...
So when is this expected to make an appearance on Desura? I mean the updated version, I know there's already, what seems like, a much older version available.
Do they have a linux client?
[editline]11th May 2013[/editline]
Stupid me, yes they do.

I think Desura is one of the answers to their servers being hammered and costing them a shit load of money, so soon, hopefully.

I suppose they could come up with a simple update client for their unstable/beta versions with torrent protocol. Kinda of like Blizzard updater, except without http source.
That'll be rad. They don't pay for bandwidth, pirates don't cost them money and they can release as often as they like.
I keep seeing people say "ugh why can you turn off infection" or whatever, but.. I mean you can turn it off.
Sandbox, set transmission to none. Or are they talking about story mode or whatever?
[editline]11th May 2013[/editline]
I mean that's what I do anyway.
Set the zombies to sprinters, all their senses to poor, and make them have superhuman strength.
Let the game of ultimate marco-polo-tag-hide-and-seek begin.
This thread has really slowed down since we actually got the update
We actually got more discussion out of waiting for it then playing it

Well, I haven't really been playing lately.
I mean, its a great game and has come a long long way.
But as of right now, there isn't really much to do.
I had a character that pretty much had everything, a safe house, tons of food, safety and protection.
And just spent a week in the house doing absolutly nothing..
He eventually got bored, maybe even more then me.
So I sent him out side to kill as many zombies as possible. *Pretty much how every single one of my games ends*
I'm looking forward to the future development of this game.
But as of right now, there really isn't much to do.
I've got a lot of fun from the latest build, and even though it's shown me so much and really validated my respect for the Indie Stone, there are still a few big bugs that prevent me from playing. I'm sure they're IS's top priority though, and if they keep working hard like they have been I"m sure they'll be resolved in no time and this game can reach its full potential.

In 2.0, all roaming zombies used to begin gravitating towards the player's location after the 30 day mark. It wasn't an ideal gameplay element, but it really introduced a timed desperation and a sense of tension that the new version could use.
I don't see what's wrong with the latest version. To me it's much more fun to play then the older versions and I'm still playing it each day for at least a little bit. I'm still working on making my hotel base like from the Walking Dead game so it keeps me a bit busy.
In the future I hope that the addition of NPCs along with careful balancing of zombie spawns would bring forward a game where you're forced to make hard choice each day. What I mean is this-
Right now the game is pretty simple and a little repetitive. You go to a house, break in, find what you need, and move on to the next one. You find a house to sleep in and the next day starts.
But what I'd really hope for is that when we get the finished result, every choice you made would stem off into another series of choices. For example you and your NPC group decide to raid a hospital. Approaching the hospital, the area is mostly clear of zombies and you proceed inside. Your group is clearing out rooms, taking out the occasional zombie when suddenly a helicopter flies overhead and attracts a giant horde of zombies which are now breaking into the bottom floor from every direction.
You'd now have to use your wit to decide what to do. You could try to escape through a window with a sheet rope, you could go about making molotovs and try to clear a path, or you could start barricading the stairs one level at a time until help arrives, or the zombie horde migrates elsewhere, or you're able to slowly take out enough zombies over time to eventually get out.
None of these would be scripted, just created by carefully balanced gameplay and your own wit. But it would leave us with a game which gave us a new experience every time we picked it up rather than a game which feels like jumping from house to house every time.
I saw a lot of this discussed earlier on, about Chloe Sagal's indiegogo compaign.
Turns out it's really a man who scammed and lied to get money to finish an operation to finish his transformation into a woman (talking in a biological sense), not to remove shrapnel. Chloe was under no danger of dying. To stop the truth coming out, Chloe threatened suicide so that indiegogo etc couldn't make proper statements.

Yes, I'm confused too.
for god's sake.
yeah we don't talk about that in this thread.
you wanna discuss it goto any one of the other numerous threads dedicated to this bullshit drama.
v8 stuff is on the forums.
Memory usage drastically reduced.
Unlimited clothing colours.
Numerous fixes we've forgotten that are probably not mentioned here.
Containers now saved out in the map properly and will never jumble up.
Copied all save data to _crash directory on crash saves.
Rebalanced food / thirst to be much quicker - BUT - readjusted levels so peckish etc happen for a long time and the higher levels ramp up closer to death, instead of a flat gradient between them as hunger increases. Also removed negative strength effects from tier 2 moodles, so no severe strength reduction for just being hungry but ramped up the very hungry to get the extra one we lost.
Context sensitive object click detection, takes facing angle, range, shared room and tile usefulness to determine the best of any possibilities of clicks for that screen point, what is highlighted and what is ignored. Mouse clicking much more accurate.
Fixed the randomized item used when crafting (for example rip bandages on your skirt and finally it's on your shirt...)
Fixed a crash when chopping trees.
Fixed character screen (your character won't facing SE anymore when opening the character screen).
Well now still work after water cuts off.
Now use the real color for character creation.
Added name/surname/color to MainCreationMethods.
Fixed constructor worker male clothes (now can be empty).
Added the use of the "Handy" trait (construction worker) in every wood craft (including buildings)
Now all weapon give either blunt or blade xp (except pen and pencil).
Changed the Lightfoot/Sneak xp gain : Now you can gain Sneak/Lightfoot xp only if you're sneaking with zed around you and they not see you (if just one see you, you not gain xp)
Add reload XP when you reload any weapon.
Add aiming XP when you fire a ranged weapon.
Vitamins now reduce fatigue (acting like pills).
Now display the reduce fatigue in tooltip (for mug and vitamins).
You can't walk during sleep no more.
You can now open/close doors you built by pressing 'e' (interact button).

[editline]16th May 2013[/editline]

Wait, there is a well on the 2.9 map? If so, please tell me where it is, my character is in desperate need of fresh water.
