come to think of it the mere fact that no one pointed out that at the top of the list of v8 changes is this fix.
Maybe you should learn to read the upcoming changes before complaining that they aren't making any.
... lots of people really aren't on zomboid as much as i am and have no fuckin idea what they're talking about and the rest who knew of the fix wanted nothing more than to pick a fight.
You obviously aren't up to date if you didn't see the changes for hotfix 8.
Dangit lemmy don't leave when 95 percent of FP supports you. I like dev feedback and I hate official forums so remember that we support Zomboid. I've got a few complaints myself but I shall remain positive because maybe positivity will get the game out faster. :V Really I just hate the long wait. This game is going to be big when it's finished.
dunno why I keep coming back.
What you are asking for is simple understanding.
From your side, I imagine you are likely implementing multiplayer frameworks. Setting up the basics and making sure it doesn't send everything toppling to the ground. A smart way to progress, and lets you ensure that future bug testing takes into consideration the basic ground work for multiplayer.
However the issue arises that, from the consumer side, you are failing to resolve the issues that each consumer is experiencing. Whether it be bugs or simply features that they are expecting and looking forward to. I'm not suggesting the consumer is correct here, merely that this is possibly the basis for any negative feedback here. To further exacerbate the problem, the feature introduced, in this case split screen coop, is going to appeal to a relatively limited number of people. It is like biting into an apple pie and finding that it tastes like chocolate cake. I have nothing against apple pie or chocolate cake, but if I bite into apple pie and taste chocolate, I'm not generally going to be pleased.
So you want understanding, and deserve it, but the road goes both ways. Always expect some bumps, just recognize along the way that most of the people complaining about them likely paid to experience them which ultimately allows you to continue working as you desire. It is either us clowns, or a publisher who can complain and then make you do it their way. :P
probably would be better off. they have their own forum you know.
Will you just fuck off? Jesus Christ.
Lemmy I wouldn't listen to someone who makes posts like this:

I have a massive problem with games that don't scale well but if you're running a machine that can't even work zomboid then you seriously need to upgrade. Had it not run at all from the start would you make the same argument?
You are not the only person playing this game and you aren't the only one experiencing bugs but you ARE the only person complaining that they can't run it. IMO it's ridiculous to expect a dev to change a product just because of your singular problem that is to do with YOUR hardware more than anything. It doesn't help that pretty much every other complaint you've made is ridiculous either.
Lets just all add NeoSeeker to our ignore lists, please.
He's got a point though.
He's got a point but he's being a little irrational in the way he says it
He's entitled to be frustrated. Definitely seems to have escalated though.
Was the new update not meant to be out yesterday?

God I hate you.

Or hijack the thread for 2 pages and flame one of the only devs who actually visit FP.
All I want is the option to play the original map in the new update and I'd be happy.
Or at least a map of the current one.
I finally made it to the police station but was being chased by a ton of zombies so I just ran for the back and got trapped in the back warehouse room next to the jail cells. There were a lot of crates but sadly there was nothing to use as a weapon and I eventually just had to run out and die. I should have picked a better room...
Or hijack the thread for 2 pages and flame one of the only devs who actually visit FP.
It was my fault too. I got frustrated, it was late and I was stressed out because of schoolwork.
if i hijacked the thread then everyone else must have gotten in with me and took turns driving.
well to keep the metaphor on track at least. and at least this guy has the stones to say so. although he wasn't juvenile like pretty much everyone else in the car.

I know it's pointless, but what does Foodstuffs have to do with anything? (your link)
So okay, has RC3 been released? I haven't been keeping up on this game's development in a loonggg time.
So okay, has RC3 been released? I haven't been keeping up on this game's development in a loonggg time.
Negative. RC 2.9 build 7 has been released, which is a major improvement, but not RC3 yet.
I know it's pointless, but what does Foodstuffs have to do with anything? (your link)
It's his alt, and funny enough he's been banned for flaming in the PZ threads twice already.
Also, Lemmy said on Twitter that build 8 isn't looking likely for today either.
words
This is the problem with a lot of games that open their alpha versions to the public.
People don't understand the development process and complain over pretty trivial things when the game isn't even feature complete.

Neoseeker is foodstuffs alt, it's fairly obvious if you compare posting styles.

Ninjad but it's worth repeating.

v8 is out.
Experimental joypad support.
Experimental split-screen support.
Stuff we've forgotten.
Memory usage drastically reduced.
Unlimited clothing colours.
Numerous fixes we've forgotten that are probably not mentioned here.
Containers now saved out in the map properly and will never jumble up.
Copied all save data to _crash directory on crash saves.
Rebalanced food / thirst to be much quicker - BUT - readjusted levels so peckish etc happen for a long time and the higher levels ramp up closer to death, instead of a flat gradient between them as hunger increases. Also removed negative strength effects from tier 2 moodles, so no severe strength reduction for just being hungry but ramped up the very hungry to get the extra one we lost.
Context sensitive object click detection, takes facing angle, range, shared room and tile usefulness to determine the best of any possibilities of clicks for that screen point, what is highlighted and what is ignored. Mouse clicking much more accurate.
Fixed the randomized item used when crafting (for example rip bandages on your skirt and finally it's on your shirt...)
Fixed a crash when chopping trees.
Fixed character screen (your character won't facing SE anymore when opening the character screen).
Well now still work after water cuts off.
Now use the real color for character creation.
Added name/surname/color to MainCreationMethods.
Fixed constructor worker male clothes (now can be empty).
Added the use of the "Handy" trait (construction worker) in every wood craft (including buildings)
Now all weapon give either blunt or blade xp (except pen and pencil).
Changed the Lightfoot/Sneak xp gain : Now you can gain Sneak/Lightfoot xp only if you're sneaking with zed around you and they not see you (if just one see you, you not gain xp)
Add reload XP when you reload any weapon.
Add aiming XP when you fire a ranged weapon.
Vitamins now reduce fatigue (acting like pills).
Now display the reduce fatigue in tooltip (for mug and vitamins).
You can't walk/run/sneak during sleep no more.
You can now open/close doors you built by pressing 'e' (interact button).
Context menu/Inventory tooltip won't show if game paused .
Toggle Skill panel shortkey fixed.
Now destroy the modal dialog if you click outside it (deleting saved game for example).
You can't run while sneaking.
Fixed Carpentry stuff (Thanks Onkeen !) + Now destroying (you or zed) carpentry stuff will give you back some material.
Fixed a bug on skill panel tooltip.
Clothing will be unequipped if transfered.
You can't climb through barricade window.
Flipping dead bodies graphical glitch fixed.
Alarms on buildings now saved with world.
Unequipped clothes now saved.
Added "Pause" to the key binding option (default key "Escape")
Now save the damage done to trees.
After placing a tent/campfire, it'll disapear from the mouse cursor.
Take water will now work after loading.
Placing a campfire/tent took twice time needed, it's now fixed.
Added Erasmus Crowley's new Crafting system ! A big thanks to him !
Stop displaying "Weight.." in top-left corner when pressing space.
Disabled UI key binding while the game is paused.
Curtains are no more clickable from outside.
Trees will no more slow you if cutted.

It gives you carpentry xp.
Shit I have to go to work, this seems to be a trend with the update releases. Going to be a slow day at work.
Does V8 mean it's coming to steam? I'm sorry i don't understand what "RC3" means and I keep seeing it everywhere.
Does V8 mean it's coming to steam? I'm sorry i don't understand what "RC3" means and I keep seeing it everywhere.
Release Candidate 3. RC3 is the name that has been given to the version they plan to have NPC's and the full metagame features in, along with a release on steam's early access.
To answer your question V8 is version 8 of RC2.9
