I'd join if you did it
Yeah MP is definitely weird for me, I try to join my own server and I get a very long loading screen meanwhile the server console is saying I've connected... Weird.
Sames, loading is taking a long time, I'll leave it for a while before I assume it's crashed.
What should I name the group?

Try looking here for a fix:

For those getting stuck on loading screen with "Delay processing packet of type 12(or 56 or 78) while loading game" message - just keep waiting until you either join or the game crashes. If the game crashes - grab the log and post it here for devs to debug the issue.
Servers fine, just gotta wait it out until you get in I guess

People sign up, I think/hope I set it up correctly
"Membership by invite only "
Should be fixed, I'll make it private once we have a few people in, then it'll be invite only.
What? It's released?
Oh it is! Anyone want to work this out and jump into a server?
Gotta add your own servers :(, I'll see if I can do anything when my gf wakes up!
So no servers up yet?
How does one even join a server? I see no multiplayer option.
[editline]15th February 2014[/editline]
Oh found how, but no servers.
Do I have to manually patch the game? Doesn't look like Steam's doing it and I never see any progress bars on the launcher...
Does anyone know if there's a torrent or mirror for the map making tools?
I can't seem to ever complete the download from their forum, so I'd appreciate it.
And any assistance would be greatly appreciated on this front, too.
Well I connected to a server, but everything except menus is black. And you need to enter in the beta via game properties in Steam.
So my friend and I found a warehouse that we set up shop in. Just as I was finishing the perimeter wall, he decided to cook some tasty soup in the microwave.
The whole warehouse is on fire.
Just played on some random project zomboid forum server for ages with my brother. It was actually really fun, good interactions with other players.
Any servers open now?
I'll try and put a server up at some point.
Holy shit, it's out?!
odfsdapfp
well I played this when it was in Alpha, good to see they finally implemented mp.
I'd be up for joining sometime.
patiently waiting for an FP server
Did they release the server requirements anywhere? I have a 512mb vps I could try using but I'm not sure if its going to run it

Bunch of info here:

I've got a few friends who said they'd buy the game once multiplayer came out. I think this should be the tipping point.
Found a server on the zomboid forums
IP: 91.121.15.71
Name: eliakoh's Server
gogogo
or try this one
Server Name: Keifleaf's Server
Address: keifleaf.no-ip.biz
Server Type: PVE
last one confirmed for definately working
I think I'd prefer a Facepunch server for my first time online, that way everyone can work together and aim for a certain goal.
working on it! got a VPS with 1 GB free memory, so should be able to allocate at least 768MB RAM to it.

might take a little longer than I initially thought. trying to get lib32gcc1 installed so I can run steamCMD, but for some reason it doesn't want to install. so if anyone here knows what might be the problem, I'd appreciate some help!

This delayed packet thing is pretty gay.
Finding food on MP game is impossible.

How does the loot work? Is it just there until someone takes it then it's gone forever?
How does the loot work? Is it just there until someone takes it then it's gone forever?
So far yes, you don't even have to worry about zombies much, since all you pass next to you is already dead, most houses I find tend to be badly burned down, all windows smashed, hordes of zombies mowed down, you can't find any weapon even.
Made it all the way to westpoint with smellyhippie, halfway there met some guy named mike, then when we finally made it to westpoint we found another survivor. Rolled around in a group of 4 for a bit then I burned to death at the gun shop :c

this game is fucking amazing for just being a multiplayer beta
I ended up robbing some guys base, he had tons of food and weapons.
I left a note on the floor saying.
Sorry mate - Guy who stole your shit.
This is fun.

I was Matt, not Mike. Darknight and I ended up going to his place. That was really fun. When I first met you and Smellyhippy on the highway I was expecting to get robbed like DayZ. I was surprised how friendly strangers could be.
