I'm getting some pretty horrible bugs, but when I google them I can't find them as all I'm getting are posts from previous, years-old versions. Occasionally, my backpack/worn container will unequip itself. This renders the items inside inaccessible. When this happens, I can no longer re-equip a bag until I restard the game. Also, crafting seems horribly broken. I right click > craft, get the menu, select an item, and it all goes to shit. I get 'rorate left' and 'rorate right' (yes, rorate) plastered on my screen and it doesn't disappear. A duplicate of the item I'm crafting is stuck to the centre of the screen. Clicking anywhere else will about 1/100 show a progress bar of crafting, but then I'm just left with invisible structures randomly in my vicinity. I don't get it at all. Are these normal or is it just me?
It's doing it to me too, thank god I'm not alone.
I actully found reports of these bugs, though I had to do it manually as google didn't help. On the official forums, the carpentry bug was reported. Devs recognised it and said it'll be fixed in a future build. Others said that un-plugging USB devices such as controllers would help. At this point, I set my game's beta version to build 23 on Steam, unplugged unused USB devices and played again, and then carpentry worked. The bag/container glitch remains, though.
is there a way to add lighting to the inside of your home? it is getting rather dark, and with sleeping not working in mp there is no way to pass the night. also, are support pillars needed to support second floors? if so how many floor tiles does one support.

I mean otherwise, flick a light switch.. but uhh..

I have yet to die in a way that somehow didn't involve a door.
I've been playing multiplayer with a friend for a few days now and it's great. Story 1 We started and spawned really close to each other and quickly scavenged all the food we could, but it didn't last long and we were forced onto some roads with numerous zombies. My friend was getting swarmed and ran into a small warehouse room and told me to follow and little did we know there was 1 door to get in and out. We were quickly overrun and killed in a glorious blood bath of baseball bats and golf clubs. Story 2 We were far more successful this time, but spawned a little ways away. After quickly meeting up, we did the same thing and scavenged many chips and some other goods. We eventually became established enough to start out way to the upper half of the map. As we reached what was about the half way point, a swarm of zombies came out of the forest and began to quickly over run us. I made it out with only a scratch but sadly my friend had numerous injury s. After quickly bandaged ourselves up, we set off again, thinking all was well, but my friend's character was still in agony. We quickly shrugged it off, little did we know this would be his cause of death. We made it into a small store on the highway and I went AFK for a minute and returned to him dead. After I got back he explained he ate every bit of food he had and used all his painkillers.
So let me get this straight. On day 1 I cut myself on a window because it doesn't spawn you with sweaters in the winter and I was freezing. On day 2, I didn't get hit, but I fought some zombies. On day 3 I was infected. On day 4 I died. When you get cut, you can bandage, but you will stay "bandaged" for longer than a week. I haven't survived long enough to see how long it takes for them to heal. While "bandaged" so much as hitting zombies without ever being hit yourself can cause you to become infected? If so, that's just fucking stupid.
Loving the multiplayer works so well. Night time is hard to see, can't wait for mods. Kick ass fort started up but the power and water has begun shutting off so now we are racing to get farming setup, got some rain collectors but crops seem to take forever when you cant sleep to fast forward time. We kept wondering why using shotguns would get us fucked up way easier, turns out the pvp and panicked spraying was us shooting each other, Turned that off pretty quick. I could host a FP server but I am down in Australia so probably wouldn't be worth it.
I'd host a FP server if my internet wasn't shite
I wish there was a server browser instead of needing to go look for IPs.
Are there any servers open now, with any of you guys playing as i've been playing with myself recently(hehe) and enjoyed the game quite a lot as before I use to play for like 5-10 minutes before getting bored and annoyed, i've been scouting for certain supplies, taking it back to a secure place, make sure it's secure if i get followed and well just enjoy that experience so much but would love to do it/play like that with other users.
So I just got this game and haven't lived for more than three days so far. But I did just go into a grocery store expecting to find some food, only to find 100+ shotgun shells and about five shotguns behind the counters.
Randomly bought this game while drunk, just finished downloading it. Anything I should know before I start playing?
Randomly bought this game while drunk, just finished downloading it. Anything I should know before I start playing?
You'll probably die.

Multiplayer is pretty fun, they need to add the ability to build floors and pillars so you can make treehouses and shit.
I started playing Project Zomboid yesterday for the first time in over a year. I can't believe how much the game has changed. I've been playing quite a lot of multiplayer with a few friends of mine and we're all having a blast with the game. Been waiting for multiplayer since the day I got the game, and it was well worth the wait :v:
Apparently the 3D system was implemented in the "Iwillbackupmysave" branch of the game! Just tried it out, it's pretty damn sweet!
I've been looking at buying this game for a while, and i have to say, i really enjoy it.
I just had my best Zomboid experience so far. All settings no normal except Zombies were strictly stragglers, with superhuman strength, and in an insane amount - also days were 30 minute long. Started out in West Point in a small house. Figured I wouldn't last long there so I took what I had and ran to a larger house, and covered up the windows. Had to take out a few zeds, but nothing major. I scavenged supplies from the neighboring houses and managed to live pretty well off of that for quite a while, up to about 10 days. That's when electricity cut out. With my fridge now running on nothing, all my cold wares would expire. I decided to head out to the large warehouse, and the big Hardware Store in the middle of the city. Up until now I'd only encountered smaller waves of zombies. Nothing too difficult to handle. I'd get swarmed but I was able to take care of it. Now I run into the city. And just as soon as I enter the first block I get SWARMED. There's hundreds of them. I panic, become tired and start running slower, but they're all heading towards me. I just decide "fuck it" and run head on into the horde. I manage narrowly to zigzag my way through them, and I get all the way to the end of the city before I shake them off. Not too far from the warehouse, though. I scavenge what I can, sadly there's not much of interest. A waste of time, essentially. I started to regret I hadn't just packed my stuff and left for Muldraugh instead. I leave, heading once again into the swarming zombies. There's a lot more this time, so I head up an outside staircase and break into a window, into the office building next to the hardware store. Zombies knocking on the door by the dozens, probably even more. Nowhere to really turn. I realize now how fucked I am! I head down the stairs as far as I can, but it's pitch black. I hear the sound of the door breaking and I realize, this is probably the end. I hide in a corner, but nevertheless they find me. One, two, ten, too many to see. I try to knock them back, but it's in vain. I brace for impact as my survival time reaches 13 days and 10 hours. A map of my progress.
Are there any Australian game server hosts? I'd host one myself but I don't have access to the router where I live. I can't afford a vps either. Or are they not a thing with this game?
I love the multiplayer so far. I think this build has been pretty stable and stability was one thing setting me off from playing the past few months. It's obviously going to have bugs and I need to get over that, but there were some things that were just outrageous, especially with the split-screen. I was playing the new multiplayer with my brother, and we were surviving pretty well. We were having trouble finding a secure place to stay and did not have great weapons. (Kitchen Knife, Golf Club, etc) so I decided we should look for the Police Station, cause obviously they must have something in the armory. We spend the next two days walking the roads to the station, killing off any stray zombies, and avoiding the crowds. My brother was an idiot and broke a window, causing himself to bleed. He didn't pay attention to the moodles, and almost died before he was able to bandage himself and heal. So then we arrived at the station, noticing there were a lot of zombies. Both doors were locked, and the only way was to break a window. I quickly ran past a small crowd of zombies and broke the window, entering the station. My brother tried making it through but the zombies were already entering the building, so he veered off and tried to lure some of them away. I was busy navigating to the armory, and made sure all the doors were shut. I could hear multiple windows smashing, which was not a good sign. I made it to the armory and got a shotgun with a bunch of shells, some pistols and a lot of rounds. I waited for a moment and chatted to see if it was safe to come out. He couldn't tell, so I just opened the door a few minutes later. A horde of zombies rush into the armory as I'm unloading on them. I probably killed 50 or more before I ran out of shells. I pushed as many as I could, and tried rushing through to the exit, but to no avail. Even if I did make it out I was almost guaranteed to be infected. I bashed in the heads of some more zombies with my golf club before I was killed. It was a fun but quick go. Now were on a new world with my other brother joining as well. We secured a farmhouse and are looking for supplies, especially a fire axe for chopping wood.
Since i suspect Dida55's Multihack thing of being awfully outdated and not working anymore, is there any other similar mods to it?
Is there an easy way to find and meet up with friends when playing multiplayer?

I just bought this game last night and i'm really enjoying it. It's nice of the devs to have a demo too, so i can tell if the game even works worth a damn. It's pretty much what i'd expect from an indepth zombie survival type game. It's kinda tedious at times, but i'm getting used to it. My third try in the actual game lasted 6 days. Made the terrible mistake of not looking through a window before climbing through it. Got bit right on the right forearm and bled to death in the parking lot while being swarmed.
