Facepunch city... ... Imagine!
I might have to jump back into this. I haven't played since MP released. The creative mode looks really fun.
Oh, I thought this game died, glad to see they are still working on its actual release.
I just want to play this multiplayer with someone. Playing alone is boring as fuck.
There's gonna be Walker-Talkers
the game is slowly slowly coming together it's gonna be so rad when it's done
okAY REALTALK RIGHT NOW is this game ever getting sleeping in multiplayer????????????????????? we've been asking for 2 years. logic wise it's SUCH A NON ISSUE and they haven't even BOTHERED
How exactly would sleep work in PZ? Sort of like a Minecraft thing?
A Minecraft-like system would only work on private servers with friends, really. Public servers with a whole bunch of players? Not so much. There's been a bunch of discussion on the forums regarding sleeping in multiplayer, and a few interesting ideas came up, but I can imagine something official will be sorted out at some point. The lack of sleep in MP doesn't currently bother me all that much.
The lack of sleep in MP doesn't currently bother me all that much.
Me neither man. I don't get why people are so uppity about it.
Fresh video from Indiev Stone! Creative mode!
I hope you can activate and deactivate zombies, maybe reset any damage they have done, so you can build a fortress and try and make it impossible for zombies to break into.
Me neither man. I don't get why people are so uppity about it.
When I first played it, I was dissapointed that it was missing because it adds a more interesting mechanic to the game of "I need to make a safe place to sleep, or find one"
When I first played it, I was dissapointed that it was missing because it adds a more interesting mechanic to the game of "I need to make a safe place to sleep, or find one"
It is a big element of the game, so that's an understandable view. I'm sure something will be done eventually, but as it stands the community is content with the way MP works, so devs are just focusing on content. [sp] and adding a bunch of cool stuff, imo [/sp]
... PZ needs some sweet rides!
Minecraft is what I have in mind. But I neither understand the draw of large public servers nor did I know they were popular enough for the devs to not consider friends' coop. That's fair, it's like DayZ but 2D and that's not my thing but it's a lot of peoples' things. I also think for the amount of time that has passed for such a simple feature, it's absolutely ridiculous that there are not only no provisions whatsoever, there are no plans AT ALL either. There has been 0 communication since MPs debut regarding sleep. We can only assume it will literally not be implemented. I personally think the game is unplayable without sleeping. Without a sense of needing shelter, it's just a crappy isometric shooter game where you walk around consuming sprites of loot. Shelter supports almost the entire game's "game structure".
We can only assume it will literally not be implemented.
Who is "WE" exactly?
Who is "WE" exactly?
I can tell English is not your first language.
I can tell English is not your first language.
What does that have to do with anything, man? I'm danish, of course it's not my first language. So, can you answer my question, or are you too smart for some crappy grammar?
I wouldn't have been confident enough to post that if it weren't for flagdog. (also avatar, whoa) It's just something you say in English. I'm not saying "we" are doing anything, "we" are thinking anything, or "we" are doing anything. It doesn't speak for anyone. The "we" is the people outside that have to assume xyz because abc isn't communicating.

??????????????? I just addressed both of your posts.
??????????????? I just addressed both of your posts.
... You know what, my bad. It's late. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] I was just under the impression, that you were making assumptions on my behalf.
Yeah sorry that came off as aggressive.

I haven't played in a while so I don't even know what exactly fatigue does. As for sleeping implementation, my suggestion would have some sort of system where whenever someone is asleep, they would accelerate the time of day cycle by a small percentage which would be proportional to how many people are in the server. Game logic will remain unaffected. So for example, if two people in the server and one is asleep, the night would go 50% faster. If both are asleep, night would go 100% faster, and therefore allow both players to wake up sooner. If one player out of 10 was asleep, the game would only go 10% faster. Also, the more fatigued you are, the longer and deeper you will sleep, which might make it hard for you to wake if you have certain traits like 'deep sleeper' or something, where as 'light sleeper' would allow you to wake easier, but have a less potent sleep, therefore taking longer to get enough sleep.

There's no fatigue at all.
I should correct myself, you can get winded from activity, but it doesn't accumulate to sleepiness of any kind.
I'm pretty sure a recent update added fatigue. If you run around all day you get tired much more easily and out of breath.
I'm pretty sure a recent update added fatigue. If you run around all day you get tired much more easily and out of breath.
Yeah, the usual fatigue system. I ran around for a while to see if there was any overlying tired-ness and all I got was out of breath, like when you bash too many heads in.

Yeah there's sleeping in multiplayer. It's just about half of the game rn. [editline]7th August 2015[/editline] God, is there like 1 dude working on this game? I legitimately do not understand how they've spent 3-4 years on this game. 2 years ago the game was basically exactly the same. I have not found a single development video or patch even the least bit interesting since I purchased the game in 2013.
