Would anyone know about that stuff that looks stacked on what i can only imagine to be a pallet or something?
I brought this game back when it was mere weeks old, back when they had Google Checkout problems and you had to buy one of those crappy games to get the key for PZ. I have followed them since and they just reek of piss poor management and EXTREMELY SHIT LUCK. Back in late 2012, they were talking about how awesome the new NPCs were and how they were quite close to being added to the game. Weeks rolled by and nothing happens. Suddenly we hear they are facing great difficulties with the big patch and how we would have to wait some time. About 3 months later the big patch lands but they said they had to cut the NPCs from it as they still needed serious work, fair enough right? Suddenly its years later and we are nowhere near seeing the NPCs added in. Lemmy's talking about how these NPCs are extremely ambitious and complex and it just screams " we don't have the right experience to deliver on the promises we have made". Don't get me wrong, I loved this game back in the day and followed it fanatically and I feel like tons of hard work and effort has gone into it, plus Lemmy and his team seem like pretty nice people. However they promised too much and now everything they show us pales in comparison to the fabled NPCs, something they'll likely never deliver on at this point.

Then i did a little digging, and i learned it was a mod called Hydrocraft. I decided to go check it out. I then decided not to get it.

Never actually played with the mod myself, but I can say that the creator, Hydromancerx, used a lot of placeholder assets taken from other games. Bit of a dick move, but he quickly got rid of them after being contacted by PZ devs. Ever since I stopped doing around 10 icons a day for him, he's been getting help from the general community. It remains as the biggest mod for Project Zomboid alongside the Real Guns mod (Which I also contributed models towards :v:)

IMO, much of the stuff in it is pretty bad looking. Besides for the pallets and what's on them. They're the only thing of all the items i've seem, that at least looks like the rest of PZ. [editline]24th September 2015[/editline] 'Out of place', is the phrase i was looking for ...

It's pretty damn spot on as well. Really impressive.
I posted some ideas for some items in the mod suggestion, for some camping/outdoorsy sorta stuff, in their forum. I'd like to hear what you, anyone who stills plays the game, think of them.
Some sort of progress
Are there any mods for this game that improve the inventory/looting UI? It's my biggest problem when it comes to enjoying this game, looting anything is super fiddly.
Are there any mods for this game that improve the inventory/looting UI? It's my biggest problem when it comes to enjoying this game, looting anything is super fiddly.
I'm not aware of any. Have you tried giving the workshop a browse?
Build 33 came out today. Wasn't it supposed to have creative mode? I don't see it.
The hell? So after all that creative showcasing, talking about b33, there's nothing like it at all ... Maaan. [editline]12th January 2016[/editline] Just went through the changelogs ... Nuttin!
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that the PZ devs have stuck with this game for as long as they have. It's not easy to keep working on the same thing for so long. But damn they are slow.. It seems like the game has hardly changed in a year, or more.
They should hire some more manpower to really get this shit moving ...
So I've been really into Zomboid lately. I got Hydrocraft which really adds so much to the game. Still waiting for cars and creative. Honestly if you added those two things I would call the game finished. So far so good, development may be slow but it's consistent and good as far as I'm concerned. At least they're still working on it.

As i just realize i already mentioned this on last page. Oh well.
Honestly I think most Hydrocraft models are perfectly fine, very few of them I've seen so far haven't been consistent with the art style. I've been hording ammunition ever since I started. It's been months and I can see vines starting to creep up buildings and grass starting to grow in. I've never played this long before so that's cool to see. I loaded up all my ammo and I'm attempting to clear the mall. Holy shit it's crazy in there. Not only am I mowing down hundreds of them I have 'jumpers' who throw themselves over the railing on the second floor and sometimes they don't die and they come crawling after me.

(Especially when the ambient sounds suggest otherwise?) The development team pisses me off to no end with how slow they are. They also throw in too many filler words and sentences into their news updates to make them seem interesting. Then they don't release the main thing they were advertising about in Build 33. Okay.

I feel sad now.
is this like the second or third graphical update in the time we've spent waiting for NPCs? i don't like to be 'that guy' but come the fuck on have we even seen any recent updates for NPCs?

And at the same time it still has that problem where some pieces of furniture are just super dark such as the counter top in the corner of the first two pics. The more I see them upgrade the graphics of the game, the more I wish they would have just had everything done in 3D so it could handle lighting better. Even without doing it all in 3D, some shadows from buildings would be nice if not solely to tell time of day without parsing the clock's 24h system. Just do something like how prison architect does it. [t]http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/3/31685/2480991-hievw.jpg[/t]
I remember back in late 2012 when they were saying how awesome the NPCs were and thought holy shit that sounds good, they even said it would probably go into the next build at that time and I thought great. Whelp. :v:
I just want cars. They make the maps fucking massive and the only way to get anywhere is to walk. Or creative mode.
