fucking hell this is back to being intense now... so hard to survive, I can't really figure out combat it seems. Ctrl-M1-hold on the z's?
I'm pretty sure while running away from the zombies I took a step in the wrong direction and walked right into the middle of the twilight zone and ended up on a looping road going nowhere (I'd assume it's the highway or something). [editline]29th April 2013[/editline] Don't run around in the dark kids.

Well the delay problem isn't really even one, if you just hold right-click instead of CTRL you can spam out as many attacks as you want.
anyone having trouble fighting zombies? Like it's not even letting me swing at them.
man there are definitely a fair few bugs but it's worth playing just for the atmosphere!
everything is locked
anyone having trouble fighting zombies? Like it's not even letting me swing at them.
hold left mouse button down. you gotta charge your hits now [editline]30th April 2013[/editline] that small update is out btw http://theindiestone.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=12870
-Lowered zombie spawn a bit. (fixing a zombie spawn bug may have increased it a bit high ) - be warned. Not too much. Survival is meant to be HARD. Try sandbox on lower zombie spawns if you want a more chilled experience. -New map version. -When holding control you don't have the delay before swing charges. Since some people are having trouble.
Thoughts after playing for a bit: - The pacing is really confusing. You're forced to run from zombies all the time but everything is locked so you can't hide - Zombies are everywhere, always. I thought they were suppose to horde together but they're in huge packs all over - Combat is weird and clumsy, sometimes you can click to attack and sometimes it forces you to hold the click for a bit - UI is still pretty unfriendly, I had a lot of trouble clicking things and looting was very difficult - Looting containers makes their contents disappear sometimes - You can only carry 8 kilograms (read: like 16 pounds) - The map feels really small, I found myself doing a lot of loops and was unsure where 'testing' areas were and where the playable map is - Being indoors sucks, it's really hard to see zombies without them lunging you (even though you know where they are) and the walls constantly get in the way - 'Stout' is a positive trait that takes -6 points from you but makes you weaker - Last build I survived over 3 years before the game corrupted and broke itself -- I'm a pretty good Zomboid player and I the longest I could live here was 2 days 8 hours Bolded stuff is stuff that should really be fixed or changed. I really feel like the issues of the game are the challenge, and not the game itself.
i hate how clunky the controls are also the game really hurts my eyes because i can't zoom in, and the way the inventory and looting works doesn't work for me [editline]29th April 2013[/editline] also my pants disappeared
BRB unlocking all the doors and windows to my house before zombie apocalypse so people don't have to break in. Just check all the windows, find another house, or kill all the nearby zombies and smash a window and climb in. It's not hard.
- You can only carry 8 kilograms (read: like 4 pounds)
use bags. download the small update too, it'll help with the attacking issues you're having.
Since my internet is garbage and it took me 2 hours to download the first build, could anyone post the files added/changed in the small update? I can't go through another 2 hours of downloading for a small update.
- You can only carry 8 kilograms (read: like 4 pounds)
8 Kilograms is 16 pounds actually.
it kinda makes sense since you're basically stuffing things in your pockets and keeping them in your hands till you find a bag :P
Saw this "forum test" and thought I could try this release without buying the game, since d/l links had no restrictions. No words can describe what I felt the moment I was prompted for my non-existing desura key.
So I've been playing for about an hour now and I have gone through 28 different characters. It's not even fun anymore, I spawn in some deserted building with no useful items and get chased down by a horde of 20+ zombies every time I take a step outside the door. I know I'm gonna sound like a douche here, but this version doesn't feel like a zombie apocalypse survival game....it feels more like a "Running away from endless amounts of zombies until you run out of breath, bleed to death, starve or get stuck trying to open a door and die" simulator. Whilst the new features are nice the survival elements (at least in my case) have been stomped into the floor like a burnt out cigarette.

I must say, the world is just too big and empty right now. I keep finding seemingly infinite silly-looking 'roads' into nothingness just going in a straight line, with nothing ever appearing. Better to have a small, dense, interesting area than this huge empty seemingly-dev-testing world :/

Zombie spawns were a bit high. If there's still to many zombies for you play sandbox mode and reduce the zombie population.
it kinda makes sense since you're basically stuffing things in your pockets and keeping them in your hands till you find a bag :P
It doesn't make sense that being stronger (via the traits) lets you carry more things without bags really. There should be a distinction between 'carrying too much' and being encumbered, it wasn't very clear in game. Well don't smash the windows then! I've found plenty of unlocked windows in my game. Or some that appear locked, but you can pry it open with enough effort. I wonder if crowbars will be added to pry open doors. EDIT: This seems relevant.

Looks like DayZ lost it's "Running Simulator" title.

Still not on steam.
I really hope they make the running distance shorter or atleast add a method of transportation. Getting from place to place is so god damn boring and takes forever.
