I played the crap outa 1257 mod. mmmm, medieval europe
Soo how are you supposed to make a start in this mod? I've made a game with that lance recruiting system and I had no choice other than to recruit a company of mercenaries. And now I'm stuck with paying 1k every week and I'm just 14 days in the campaign.
I wish having salt in your inventory wouldn't make your meat rot in a day.
1257 AD is really good There's also the Clash of Kings mod, based on HBO's Game of Thrones. It's good too.
Clash of Kings has certainly gotten better but if memory serves it is still lacking. Unless it has changed and I didn't know about it, the mod uses free armor packs that are poorly scripted to replace armors from Floris. The whole thing is built off of Floris' code, meaning it is essentially stolen. He didn't even try to make new troop trees, he just replaced the Floris Sarranid tree. It was a pain in the ass trying to clean up his mess. That, and he was also a dick to the community.

Use the money to buy businesses in "safe" towns (in the middle of a stronk kingdom that you wont be at war with in the near future). Then use your renown to become a lord in the kingdom of your choice and use your newly acquired fief to raise yourself an army. You can probably fund some extra mercs and their weekly wages too with your business money. If you can't beat the tuff 1257ad tournaments and don't want to save scum or go 1 v 1 ez mode all the time try to scrape up the money for your first businesses with merc work but that might get painful. edit: if you have to choose between cool new gear, a business or more soldiers you should probably go for businesses first, soldiers second and gear last.
1257 is pretty fun, although I think it's a too big project for a mod to work very well.
I've been playing the Gekokujo mod and the so much fun. I really hope they add things like Chinese and European mercenaries to add some variety as only fighting samurai can get uninteresting.
great fuckin mod if only it didn't constantly crash on me for no apparent reason.
Soo how are you supposed to make a start in this mod? I've made a game with that lance recruiting system and I had no choice other than to recruit a company of mercenaries. And now I'm stuck with paying 1k every week and I'm just 14 days in the campaign.
The lance system represents how medieval serfdom worked.. so basically if you have a fief (village, castle, town) it'll have a standing militia that trains and replenishes itself based on the fief propsperity. A lance is basically a squad of troops that has a couple peasant solders, couple commoner soldiers, and then it's usually led by a knight or a man at arms; so you get those things in varying quantities when you recruit one of your lances. Fought in tournaments to win money, it's the best source of revenue early in the game. Once you have money, go to your village, and then build a fortified manor. The fortified manor can basically be turned into a little money making operation and once it's fully upgraded it'll bring in a good 20k a week. Don't forget "unique" mercenaries, as well. Welsh archers are really powerful, and you can hire Gaelic mercenary axemen in the Irish cities who make really good heavy infantry. There's Genoese crossbowmen in Genoa, Turkopoles in the Teutonic states/crusader states, etc. The unique mercenary companies are generally really good. Don't hire Brabantine mercenaries though, they are pretty shitty and extremely expensive. I think there's Finnish mercenaries somewhere, but I haven't been able to find them.
Too bad I've made a Merchant character that's sucks so bad at fighting that I can't win tournaments :v:
So the Full Invasion 2 mod is like the best thing ever in multiplayer. Had 70 + people create a perfect shield wall as spartans on this one map against hordes and hordes of enemies. On another map we played as British colonial era soldiers defending a fort against armies of zulu warriors. There is even star wars, game of thrones, cowboys, world war era factions + much more you can play as. The variety is what makes this mod great.
great fuckin mod if only it didn't constantly crash on me for no apparent reason.
It could also do with less of the Touhou music.
Are there any modules or minor mods expanding the Merchant style of playing?
I'm playing 1257 while listening to the CKII soundtrack. Cozy. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Anybody know how to make 1257 run better?
Too bad I've made a Merchant character that's sucks so bad at fighting that I can't win tournaments :v:
Buy bulk salt in the cities around egypt, and then bring it to continental europe and sell it off there [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Also since the world map is so huge, merchant quests pay stupid amounts of money/XP in 1257. Got like 6000 gold for bringing a small group of merchants from Dublin to Acre. Good thing to do when your kingdom isn't at war, just make a small party of elite soldiers, and then escort merchants and cattle around the world map for money and XP

There isn't much you can do beyond that I think.
I always turn character detail and character shadow detail to low... really no reason to have them on. It only effects the distance at which LOD models swap. Just got a new beastly computer and I can do 400 person battles no problem, but if I have character detail and character shadow detail set to high it's chews through my fps pretty quickly.... always turn it low

I have to say I'm loving the big diverse world. I did a few trips, made around 50k all together.
Holy. Fucking. Shit. Apparently this stuff still exists. I thought it went under. Holy shit. This looks so fucking fun. Oh god I want it so bad. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,199081.1200.html
Welp, there we go. Out of my some 2000 hours in warband, this is hands down the most "bullshittiest" thing I've ever seen anybody do :v: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/zAOb8Z.gif[/t]
Why are you surprised? He clearly shears you in half with that pitchfork. Come to think of it it reminds me of a particularly weird mod with this one combat animation that made no sense at all

Is there any reason I've been getting instakicked from every native server I join, and I can't even load a Napoleonic server because it says "Incorrect serial number"? It was working fine just yesterday and I'm not sure what might be causing this. Actually, all the Napoleonic servers I usually play on aren't even on the server list. I only see like one or two and it gives me that message if I try to join.

Is there any good Native+ plus out there. The only one I can stand to play is Native Mod Complication.
Is there any good Native+ plus out there.
