how do i master this attack by direction bullshit i go in 1v1 spars with peasant recruits and i get my ass handed to me
how do i master this attack by direction bullshit i go in 1v1 spars with peasant recruits and i get my ass handed to me
Assuming you have it set to Attack by direction and not by movement, it is your mouse that decides what attack you will use. You must be one with your weapon. The speed bonus is not limited to just attacks from horseback. Lunging with your spear? Move backwards and then as you deliver the blow move forwards to give your stab that extra punch. Slicing left or right? Move in the direction your weapon is swinging to give it extra momentum. This is part of the reason why most multiplayer duels look like ballerinas dancing. If you're fast enough you can fake out an enemy who is blocking with a weapon. Left click and move your mouse to attack one way, then as soon as your attack starts, cancel it with a quick right-click to block, then just as quickly left-click and move your mouse in a different direction and if you're fast enough you will get past your enemies block. For enemies with shields that won't work though. For them you'll either have to trick them into lowering their shield to take a swing at you where you get the hit by attacking even faster, or if you block an attack from them you have a small window of opportunity to get in a free hit, or you could just get behind them and slice their back open. Hope this helped, for extra practice I recommend a trial by fire where you spar with the fighters in the tutorial on max difficulty settings.
[t]http://i.minus.com/jnuTQir5SEi7s.jpg[/t] florismodpack.jpg
Reminds me of a similar pic that was posted in the last megathread from Brytenwalda. I think it was uploaded to niggaupload which went down though so it's kinda gone forever.

Shit man for a second my heart dropped. :v:
holy fuck he got me for a second
I decided to try the Clash of Kings mod again. Literally, the first character I see on the map. [t]http://puu.sh/8cVF3.jpg[/t]
I got back into Brytenwalda recently and it reminded me how completely brutal some of the deaths in Mount&Blade can be. [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/3298068732726339002/E858AC46C751CAFC177FF12427CC6404A0146105/[/t]
Carribean! is out in alpha-ish stage. 15 bucks http://store.steampowered.com/app/293010/ Pretty good, better than F&S so far, though it feels like it has sort of the same quest-centric qualties. Albiet the scope of the game seems a bit more adventure-oriented so that's a plus
What mods are most popular right now? I've been playing with floris is the swadian army and currently I spend a lot of time waiting for my lord to escape captivity so I can rejoin him. It's lame
did that lord of the rings mod ever come out? the veiled stars or something last i remember a buggy beta came out so i was gonna wait for it to get patched up a bunch before trying.
did that lord of the rings mod ever come out? the veiled stars or something last i remember a buggy beta came out so i was gonna wait for it to get patched up a bunch before trying.
The Last Days has now been ported to Warband, here you go: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-last-days
How good of a port is it?

Even though I was super excited for this game back I'm the day, I think I'll pass for fifteen dollars if it's still pretty incomplete. They really should have negotiated to be allowed to use the Mount and Blade subtitle as that would have helped sales and interest immensely.
Carribean! is a pretty awful name. Gives the image of an old 90s game being released on Steam.
How good of a port is it?
From what I've seen a damn good one. IIRC SurrealBeliefs has already done a series of him playing the Warband version.

Bought Caribbean, it's pretty cool though it does need more to it.
For anyone like me who would really enjoy playing a co-op campaign with a friend, I would suggest Full Invasion 2. It is only fighting waves of enemies, but you still get to enjoy working together and buying new equipment. There are loads of factions too, so it will be a while before you get bored. Here's a screen from a game with randomers who were actually pretty organised: [t]http://i.imgur.com/DNAfrSB.jpg[/t]
Does anyone use all movement keys? I really prefer them because I simply cannot get used to mouse movement, but I ask, does anyone here have advice for using all movement keys? In particular I find it difficult to feint or do some stuff that's unpredictable.
