Combat in this game feels so clunky and unnatural (in singleplayer, at least). I haven't played Multiplayer in a long while.
Any tips for kicking ass when it comes to MP?

I've been playing warband on free weekend. Not what I expected at all, its fantastic.
Thinking of sprucing up the gameplay a bit though. Anyone suggest any decent mods?

ACoK is my favorite mod for warband. but then again I'm a huge fan of the books and TV-series.

Here are some great mods for warband if you're looking total conversions.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/a-clash-of-kings A superbly made mod for lovers of Game of Thrones and 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R.R Martin, it was mentioned above.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-last-days A Lord of the Rings mod, it has a Warband port, another superbly made one.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-deluge For those who, like me, agree that 'Fire and Sword' is not even a shadow of a Mount and Blade game.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-red-war-12 Another fun one, turns the setting of M&B, Calradia into the Industrial age, around WWI era.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/calradiaimperialage Does the same, but to an era similar to the Napoleonic wars.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/warsword-conquest WARHAMMER FANTASY!!!! Where Warrior Priests of Sigmar can ride Squigs into battle!
Edit: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=278364760 Behold, the Priest of Sigmar and his noble steed!
I've had a blast with all of these mods, some are in more complete than others but all of them are great and well worth a try.
And that's not even mentioning the ones I've missed out because I've not tried them yet.
I dunno why really, but Napoleonic Wars has more a tendency to crash than the regular game.

Me and a friend played this expecting a serious wave survival mod; We ended up fighting an army of midgets as Ironman and Spiderman riding supercharged broomsticks making horse sounds.

You should also mention Perisno, which is looking to be the next big fantasy mod and Silver Stag which makes it REALLY hard to play other mods with all the time saving features it has.

Seriously this sucks, I really wanted to enjoy it. And I do, until it crashes.

huh, I've been playing it near daily since release and have never had a crash. If you're running on DirectX9 try putting it down to DirectX7 to see if that fixes it.

I'll do that now.
And I figured it might have to do with direct x. Finicky bastard it is sometimes.

Nope, didn't work.
Either it's the smoke from all the gunfire or I just have no idea.
Yeah never had a crash either problem is on your end.
This sucks, what should I do?
Really hard to say with no info to go off of do you get a specific error message? Do you know exactly when it normally happens? I would love to help but it is hard with little info on why it crashes.
I wished the modders had done more with the WWII China mod. The warlord era of China is such a fascinating time period with enough antiquated weapons for it to work in the Mount and Blade context. Tons of cliques vying for power, an entire city run basically by the mob, Communists and Capitalists, Russians in the north, Japanese in the east, British in Hong Kong, an overthrown king trying to take back the throne, and everyone fighting each for control of China.

I'll look into it after I sleep. In fact I'll print screen it.
For some reason when ever I join a server running the Napoleonic mod all I hear is TONS of talking and swords clanging. What the fuck is going on
For some reason when ever I join a server running the Napoleonic mod all I hear is TONS of talking and swords clanging. What the fuck is going on
Usually if I'm switching the modules in the main menu (ex. Napoleon to Vanilla or Vanilla to Napoleon) and I join a server I hear all that clanging and yelling noise. This can be fixed by quitting the game and switching modules when you're not ingame.
It's always worked for me.
I'm getting some really weird graphical glitches where the sky is missing and the ground is pitch black with the Floris mod, does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm getting some really weird graphical glitches where the sky is missing and the ground is pitch black with the Floris mod, does anyone know how to fix this?
Floris mod is several versions old and hardly works anymore, people really shouldn't still be using it.
Oh damn, then is there anything that is a good replacement?
Oh damn, then is there anything that is a good replacement?
Silverstag was originally the testing mod for it but it broke off when the dev got sick of being the only thing holding up Floris. It's probably the most 'refined' mod out there right now, with hardly any bugs and all the features being pretty well done. It doesn't add as much as Floris but if a vanilla+++ is what you're looking for it's perfect.
My idea for a Mount and Blade mod, call me ideas guy, is to kick it back to the 600s.
In Calradia.
After the fall of some fictional Roman-Esque Empire. Before the Khergit, before the Swadians united, when the Nord tribes were fractured and embattled.
Vaegir Culture
Tribe of the Rivachegs
Khudan Khanate
Reyvadin Khanate
Nord Culture
Petty Kingdom of Wercheg
Petty Kingdom of Tihr
Jarldom of Sargoth
Swadian Culture
Kingdom of Praven
Duchy of Uxhal
Rhodok Culture
Serene Republic of Yalen
Republic of Jelkala
and so on and so forth. There'd be various last enclaves of the Great Empire (name yet thought of). The Khergit will arrive in the steppes after 1 year of in-game time. Wandering bands of Barbarians threaten the sanctity of the realm.
Stupid, gigantic and I have no experience in making things, so it's a pipe dream. I'd love to work with someone on it though.
AKA Bannerlord, as far as we know

I'm currently trying that but can't get the WSE thing to work thanks to having to use a mac.
The game appears to work fine without it aside from an error or two in custom battles, so is it a problem?
EDIT:
It automatically kicks me out of the mod options, so there's that.
AKA Bannerlord, as far as we know
The main reason I'd like to make it so fractured is because of 2 reasons:
1) Kingdoms
2) Units
In Vanilla and even most vanilla-based mods, if one were to recruit the Swadian Knights, they could roll through entire kingdoms in just a few months.
I'd like the fracturing of the realm to cause units to be fairly barebones. Put in a system where the larger your kingdom is, the more advanced units you can create.
