Hey if any of you guys are playing the Brytenwalda mod can you test out a patch I made that basically polishes some aspects of Polished Landscapes for it? Feedback would be appreciated. This is the first thing I've ever done in regards to Warband modding. Here's the download: https://mega.co.nz/#!XIoBzI6T!73r1mnTJasIo1CXd_2t8FHTKOcvd150MywJiKWDfwfU It does multiple things. First, it fixes the dual bark texture on many trees. A lot of the fatter trees, especially ones from Native, had an issue where they appeared to be half-birch and half-normal, pictured here. This is because in Brytenwalda a bark texture file will have several textures in it. This means some of the fatter trees ended up wrapping the entire file around them, causing them to display what looks like two bark textures instead of one. Second, it replaces trees with wonky leaves with similar looking trees that have more natural looking leaves. If you're wondering what I mean by wonky, click here. Finally, it gets rid of some asinine collision meshes. One example is a skeleton on the ground would have a collision mesh the size of an entire tree. What this means for gameplay is you should see less arrows floating in midair and if you play an archer then your arrows will not hit an invisible wall in an open field battle nearly as much. I would recommend using this in conjunction with vidamir's Tree Updates but the choice is yours. With the tree bark and leaves pretty much taken care of, the only problem I have left with Polished Landscapes for Brytenwalda is some of the trees that are used for outside of the map. Prime examples being this and this. Problem is I haven't the slightest idea of which .brf has the files for it or what I would switch them with.
This is what I figured, especially when you look at this. [t]https://www.taleworlds.com/Images/Gallery/BannerlordArtwork_22.jpg[/t] Additionally most of the other screenshots look like lesser grade armor than what was present in warband. The inclusion of the Sarranids makes it seem like there's going to be a Roman-esque Calrad faction, Celtic/German inspired Proto-Swadians/Rhodoks, and Persianish Sarranids. The Swadians are based off of a mix of Frank/German Kingdoms, and the Rhodoks are based off of Swiss armies IIRC, so they're more Germanic than Celtic but I'm not really complaining. Assuming that this is the case, I'm not having high hopes for native bannerlord. However, I'm guessing they're going to release expansions including a Nord Invasion from Nordland, and Khergits coming from the East. Anyways, mods will really make the game shine.
For posterity, Swadians are largely reminiscent of Germany (or HRE as it was) in terms of the weapons they use and the armor they wear. Though obviously there's some French elements thrown in as well, especially in terms of their relationship with the Rhodoks (ie: Flemish) Rhodoks are the Flemish Militia through and through, almost a complete carbon copy of Flemish arms, armor and fighting style. Khergits, obviously Mongols, and Vaegirs are the Rus/Baltic The closet thing to a Celtic faction in M&B would be the Nords, which is to say, there basically is no Celtic faction in M&B. Here's an Osprey thing about the Gallóglaich, and Gaelic warfare in general Ireland/Scotland, which is really the only form of Celtic warfare that existed during the middle ages and renaissance. The more you know :eng101:
OK. I've expanded the patch I made a little more and gave it its own thread on the Brytenwalda sub-board. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,309019.0.html If you want, tell me what you think.
If any of you have a TWC account, we're hosting a Total War Center Olympics, and I am running the Warband and NW event! http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?659586-Moiunt-and-Blade-Warband-and-Mount-and-Blade-Warband-Napoleonic-Wars
I'm interested in the warband duels, but I'd be too nervous to get somewhere I think. I'm not that good.
Man. Holding against 450 men with only 150 men of yourself(70 personal highly trained) and then only losing about 17 of your own men(30 men of the garrison died rip) killing or capturing all 450.

There's something satisfying about having you and your best men go full spartan mode and defeat an army over three times your size in the open field
I joined a line regiment in napoleonic wars (basically a clan where you're trained and given orders by a commander on teamspeak, lots of battles between multiple regiments etc) about a week ago, probably the most fun I've ever had in a game - here's a screenshot of my whole regiment in a line during a battle: [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/75751064199924516/120A8921E43419A042BA520F976BA127FA4AEE01/[/t] If you haven't done it yet I recommend joining one if you like tactics, our regiment is having a siege linebattle tomorrow at 19:00 GMT so if anyone wants to join the regiment just to see how it is add "[95th] Destiny" on steam, he's the commander.
I was in the old 95kb regiment back in the day, was great fun and I gained a few ranks and shit, got a reputation for melee that quickly was destroyed due to a few unlucky runs. Unfortunately that sank, I recall some members going on using the same regimental title but that was a while ago. Now regiments in Iron Europe was were I truly shined, I didn't really want to join again since now I sucked at melee and people were still counting on my melee skills, but god suddenly I could shoot. Didn't matter at what range I was a sharpshooter, I remember getting a few regimental invites trying to get me to quit my current reg (spiritual successor to the 95kb with several old members) Too bad that mod crashed and burned all to hell, it was very fun for me and charging trenches was a blast. RIP Iron Europe, best WWI experience I ever had
I remember the 95 Kilobytes, fun times! I've been with them for 3 years now, and the 8th has existed for about 4 1/2 years. c: We already have a couple Facepuncher's in the regiment already, though two of them aren't very active any more.
I have seen so many people say that floris mod is outdated and that i should not use it. But are there any other mods who adds the same amount of items, and features + graphics, on the NATIVE module?
Silverstag is close.

I recently installed and put about 7 hours into it without any glaring problems. What am I missing?
Silverstag is close.
Silverstag has more features but doesn't have as many items.
Wait, what's wrong with Floris? I recently installed and put about 7 hours into it without any glaring problems. How the fuck do I aim these different Cannons?!
just bought warband after trying out the demo i wish there were more background options but this is amazing. i love everything about it euugh words can't describe it
I remember the 95 Kilobytes, fun times!
Were you there that time when we managed to take a fort during the siege battle within the first 5 minutes? I mean they all just left the main gate unguarded and we just walked in through the front door. Ahhh, the memories
Is there a mod that significantly improves sieges?
Is there a mod that significantly improves sieges?
It's kind of hard for mods to improve the poor AI that ruins sieges, there are some good multiplayer mods that would do siege events every so often like Vikingr.
Ah, memories of this game In perhaps the weirdest twist of all time, a couple of years ago, back when I still went to retail stores for games, I picked up the original M&B off the budget shelf for a fiver expecting very little Suddenly I'm playing and swinging swords the way swords should be swung in every sodding game, and despite the DRM verification constraining me to early levels while I figured it out I was pretty damn addicted Fast forward and I clocked about 300 Steam hours on Warband last I checked, the only game I played more than that was TF2
I don't think any game has given me my money's worth like Mount & Blade has I got it for I don't even remember how much sometime in '04 or '05 when it was still in beta and I can still sink days worth of playing time into it to this day I do occasionally miss the older versions though
Steam Workshop update:
IMPORTANT (GAMECHANGER): There are new changes to the workshop that mean the file size limit had been vastly increased and should no longer pose a problem. You must opt into the beta on Steam, in the "BETAS" tab of Warband Properties. Use the access code "betapassword" and download the update, then follow the instructions below (in the original post). Once this is released, ALL CURRENT WORKSHOP MODS WILL NO LONGER WORK. So update to the new system in preparation. Ask in the thread if you have any question.
I guess this means that we will be able to download the big mods in the workshop.
Is that going to effect other workshops as well? That's going to be a hell of a lot of broken Skyrim mods...
Fuck's sake, where is the Bannerlord blog update, been waiting since May. I honestly don't understand why they need to keep us in the dark so much, just give us some screenshots, anything.
Goddamn all this talk of Native warband makes me miss the old days before I even bothered looking into mods for the game and or Napoleonic Wars all nighters every night playing in the nordic faction. I gotta admit, like someone mentioned above. Aside from the 170~ games on my steam, Warband is one of the games I think I got my full moneys worth out of.
Native is just so.... I don't know how to describe it but mods don't give me the same feeling. But the mods are still great. I love Persino but also Europe 1200AD.
Is that going to effect other workshops as well? That's going to be a hell of a lot of broken Skyrim mods...
i doubt they would increase filesize limit just for warband shit, they probably pumped it high enough to make most l4d map mods one file now.
