Do you use any mods?
Yeah, this last playthrough was on Floris 2.55. I've imported that same character from Native through 3 different iterations of Floris, so I have played the same character for years now.
For fourteen more hours, M&B Warband is $4 at humblebundle. https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/mountandblade_warband_storefront And for 1d14h, Napoleonic Wars is $2 https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/mountandblade_napoleonicwars_storefront
Oh shit! http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,313636.0.html
Heyo Warbladers, We have updated Warband's Steam beta (use the password "betapassword" for access) to 1.161 in preparation for an upcoming DLC announcement! This patch introduces a haul of new operations for modders. We'll bring this patch out in full in a few days on Steam. Old mods will be compatible. To use the new operations (you may be able to hack them in yourselves by manually entering the operations) we will provide the module system ASAP. More info on that soon! Save games from old versions WILL be compatible with this version but save games from this version WILL NOT be compatible with old versions.
Oh wow that came out of nowhere. Anyway, color me excited!
woah instant buy whatever it is
I tried taking Calradia about a year ago, and I didn't quite succeed. Anyway, this time I used TweakMB to make it so that knocked out lords couldn't escape from battle, because I found that silly. In one game, I captured every lord I conquered, and holed up in one castle. Unfortunately every nation got miffed at me, but I lasted a good number of weeks with my 200 Nord huscarls.. Can't remember the name of the castle though, but it was a lucky pick because they couldn't take it back. :) Whatever, words. Anyway, I played M&B in like version .4 or something when you could kill everyone in the starting town, and those black knights were nasty..
I was able to get a very iconic weapon from a not-so-good game that shall not be named, into Warband [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/544131084864411159/0DBB28CB6C19CCFC9A56CA87F791779F321B6161/[/t]
Wow, this thread, the TES thread, the Fallout thread, and the KSP thread are really dead right now. I wish some new shit re-ignited the flames of passion for posting in these threads, because those are the games I'm playing right now and would love to discuss about.
So instead of complaining why don't you post something along the lines of what you're thinking of....I mean we've all sunk tons of hours into it, discussed it, modded it, etc Right now most of us are waiting on bannerlord and the thread moves whenever new stuff is released, but TaleWorlds and Paradox are notorious for being quiet about the development process so not much gets released
Playing Warsword Conquest atm as a Chaos Lord named Morgoth Bauglir. So far I've conquered about four towns/castles in the northern mountains and have a few vassals. The Kingdom of Angband is flourishing. But fuck, I hate M&B's economy system for player towns. Even a single part of 2 Looters near a village can reduce its prosperity to "Wretched", and then make your town suffer too. I wish the game didn't handicap player kingdoms.
I've been playing Gekokujo, and man sieging is so hard without shields.
I've been playing 1866, went as a vigilante until some shit-dick named Remington Robert attacked my merry band with a 100 man stack outside of Cottonwood and wiped me the fuck out, just before stealing my favourite revolver. So I turned rogue after I escaped, and became the worst outlaw you've ever fucking seen. If it had two legs I attacked it, killed it and looted it's stuff. I particularly targeted the prisoner trains, liberating all the criminals and far quicker this time built up an army of about 80~ assorted scum, indian mercanaries and companions, all experienced Then I assaulted Cottonwood Hotel, Remington Robert's home, and stole that from him, just before I took Cottonwood town as well from the USA. Ulysses S Grant wiped my ass before that first, admittedly, with his 250~ man stack, though I came back again and ripped him a new one when he was alone. And I kept doing it after the USA sieged Cottonwood. Every general that came within a certain radius of Cottonwood they just got snatched up and captured. I started collecting them, stuffing every one into Cottonwood's dungeon. If they don't fix the netcode issues as well as the type of hitbox detection system used in bannerlord, I'm never buying a TalesWorld game again. Warband's hit detection system is shitty, and doesn't take into account the weapon's true shape, as well as the details like "did I hit you with the tip of the weapon or the base" and then change the damage according to what part of the weapon hit you and at what time of the animation. Dark Souls does this perfectly by making it to where if you are hit with the handle of a weapon ( or more specifically, the AI) you have a damage multiplier that negates damage done (because you fucking hit a dude with the handle of your sword, how's that supposed to be effective?) TL;DR: TW needs to implement a better hit detection system as well as change the logic for calculating damage on each individual weapon based on shape and what time of the animation that the weapon hit you. (so we don't get what we have in Napoleonic Wars with the bayonets that do 100 damage on the last frame of animation because fuck logic) [editline]21st September 2014[/editline]
So instead of complaining why don't you post something along the lines of what you're thinking of....I mean we've all sunk tons of hours into it, discussed it, modded it, etc
And also screw you! I tried to entice discussion myself by posting conversion stuff. All I see is that it was the original Mount & Blade with oddly accurate smooth-bore firearms and historical inaccuracies.
does anybody else spend a ridiculous amount of time making your character as ugly as possible so far i have come up with pin head larry non-existent chin bob and good ol' my-face-is-the-shape-of-an-upside-down-penis steve

man i wish i knew how to mod m&b, i would make a stalker mod asap
man i wish i knew how to mod m&b, i would make a stalker mod asap
Well, the game is... interesting with its modding. It uses a module system, when the game loads modules, they change how the game can look and work. If you wanted to, you could make the game a STALKER game. Set in the zone. With mutants and stuff. Then you stun mutants and domesticate them to use them in armies to fight other stalkers. That would be wicked.

Make some hyper-ugly fuckers.

Maybe my issue was trying to join a faction instead of becoming an outlaw king like you did. Any tips to succeed?
Does anyone have any news about the release date/how far from release Bannerlord is? Me and a buddy looked on their own site and had no luck. Did find out that there is gonna be a co op campaign in it though. Which also is what we wanted to know.

As for co-op campaign, where did you hear that? I've been following Bannerlords pretty closely (or so I thought) and haven't heard any official statement that its going to have that.

Because now, all I can find is official statements saying co op is highly unlikely. I'll keep looking and see if I can find it.

Maybe my issue was trying to join a faction instead of becoming an outlaw king like you did. Any tips to succeed?
Get the Remington Navy 6 shooter as soon as you can. Its the best pistol you can basically get and if you get used to it you can get about 3-4 kills before each reload every time. In terms of rifles, I alternate between repeaters (just wait for one to drop, screw with Vigilantes or high end bandits) and 1 shot non-muskets that reload in about 2 seconds. With the former you just use it like with the Remington Navy, but from greater distance and for larger mobs, and with the latter you can make the best use of your ammunition in drawn out battles as each bullet is an easy kill. In character creation, aim to maximise charisma and intelligence ASAP, then pump points into leadership. Strength isn't worth two shits and agility is only useful for the riding skill. If you want to be an outlaw, decide to screw around either on the turf of Mexico or the USA and then attack the prisoner trains. Hire all the prisoners you get after you beat them, and use your larger party to attack bigger targets. Mercs are good and you can hire vigilantes from vigilante parties. Also, join the opposite faction to the one you pissed off and get some cheap riflemen from them. Don't bother with patrols or caravans, the only resource worth more than guns is spices. They're only good really for getting your guys experience. Don't bother looting villages, though imrpove your looting skill for good post battle loot, as that is where you'll make the most money.
nah the sounds of having just finally got a load of Sword Sisters ready after grinding to no end with captured peasant women, and charging them all into combat
raaaaaaaaauuwuuuuuurgh! raaaaaawuruguhuruugh!raaaaaaaaawuuuuuurgh! raaaaaawuruguhuruugh!raaaaaaaaawuuuuuurgh! raaaaaawuruguhuruugh!
x99
So my friend is absolutely obsessed with Warband and convinced me to give it a shot. Having a lot of fun so far, just did the basic starting quests, did a few quests for wandering parties, and won a tournament and then joined a faction. So...now what? I don't really know how to progress in this game and am going to need a few pointers.
