yea but the admin horse is turned into a mlp pony. it brings back nice MM animations tho.
I don't see the admin horse that much anyway. BTW the signature on the OP's forum account i linked has an MLP OC on it.

Though, that MLP admin horse made an appearance in the recruitment video I made for the 8th earlier this year.
The only way to play Napoleonic wars is the Napoleonic Wars Enhancement Mod. Seriously, this little compilation is really grand and makes the death noises and screams almost as good and PTSD inducing as Red Orchestra 2.
That's because those death sounds are just taken from Red Orchestra 2.
here's that video i made btw written, edited, casted, produced, and filmed by yours truly.
Where the hell is the pirate hat mesh located in Napoleonic Wars Enhancement Mod? I want to delete the shit out of that fucking horsemask. Fuck bronies that do this kinda shit. Nevermind found it! It's in the en_russian_uniforms, replace with the ones in mm_russian_uniforms for the originals. Opened them with OpenBRF, then copied over the correct vanilla ones.
dude, it's medieval times. gore practically was founded there.
A) that's not what I was saying, I said M&B's violence spectrum. M&B has always been fairly toned down, not a very gritty game. B) Gore in medieval warfare in not cinematic gore, you can't lop somebody's arm off through chainmail and a gambeson, the armor of the day was too protective to allow for dismemberment and decapitation. Most people had coifs protecting their neck, and at least some form of quilted armor, which is surprisingly protective Impalement, crushing injuries (axe/mace blows, being trampled by horses, etc) and severe lacerations are the gore that was most common in medieval combat. The few gravesights you can find of medieval battles never seem to indicate that dismemberment was at all common, people tend to have broken skulls, puncture wounds and lacerations on their legs. To be honest I find Chivalrys style of gore to be overly comical. It's funny, but that's not really M&B's style. Go realistic or go home

Seems to me like the reason Warband and the Original weren't more gritty is due to lack of knowledge on the devs part of how to implement that in a not cheesy cheap fashion.
I'm fine with more gore and grittiness, but chopping off limbs is just cartoony and dumb.
I'm fine with more gore and grittiness, but chopping off limbs is just cartoony and dumb.
It should still be possible - consider what happens when you have cavalry in full charge swinging swords through a bunch of unarmored peasants. There's more than enough energy there to remove limbs.
if anything it'll be nice to see a deep gash at the least where you swing a greatsword at someone
A normal longsword can cut someone in half provided they're completely unarmoured, but as hypno-toad said, with armour dismemberment wasn't common. However, I remember this specific account that details how a dude lost his arm and killed another 4 before being dragged off by his friends. IIRC he survived.
I'd rather have violence more along the lines of this kind of stuff: [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/truxVo.gif[/t] I'd like to see there being a nice array of particle, animation and sound effects to really convey the fact that you just fucking obliterated somebody, even breaking an axe haft or shattering a lance on somebody would be amazing if they did it right with some good particle effects, sounds and wound decals Actually in that engine tech video they showed that there's now vertex-conforming decals with displacement maps/tessellation so the technology is definitely there to have real 3d wound decals now.

I always dreamed of that in video games, it would be so satisfying to hit someone and see pieces of his armor fly off of him. In any case, are the king behaviors scripted? I mean there's the inside joke of Haralus feasting all the time, Ragnar granting the world to himself, Graveth being just and Hakim being a bro if he has Shariz for himself, and I felt like those were true regarding Graveth, Haralus and Ragnar. I'm really wondering if that's just a placebo effect or if this is actually in the game in some form.
has there been a release date announced for the viking expansion? i imagine 2015 but sooner than later would be great.

Combined with what you said in your post? I'll be wet.
Lets go into crazy territory. Imagine if they had a form of physics driven animation like euphoria, and severe injuries could widen the angle constraints on joints. You get trampled by cavalry and suddenly find you have an extra elbow. Also your foot is in your mouth.
Could do something similar to what GTA V does when someone gets shot, but instead of a bullet, have an arrow.
I joined an RP server for the laughs, and it was on jailbreak. There was only one admin on, a KLR or something along those lines. I declared that if I saw any prisoners with weapons, the guards could shoot on sight. So I saw a prisoner with a weapon and killed him. 20 seconds later, KLR slayed me for RDM (random deathmatch) I provided the argument that I had said what I said above, and I killed another person with a weapon, after restating that any prisoners would be shot on sight, and guess who I killed again? Needless to say, I left that server in a heart-beat. I need to host my own server for NA and Native so that I can perma-ban asshole cunts like him. I bet he was one of those admins who get pissed whenever someone kills him.
You need to stay off RP servers and not start your own.
Well, I wasn't clear, but I wanted to say start my own server with none of that RP bullshit. I have a strong dislike for RP, so don't think that I would ever want to start one ironically or unironically. It's also the problem with Regiments, they take themselves way too seriously and it's damn close to RP half the time. At least my reg is fairly laid back in a sense. [editline]7th November 2014[/editline] Gekokujo is a good mod after this latest update. The music is more "authentic" to the experience.
One thing I like about the multiplayer (especially NW) is how you can get a bunch of friends and just be this really incompetent squad that just makes up plans that are so fucking stupid they end up working sometimes. I wish more games could let you do that.
Original Mount and Blade can be gotten FOR FREE right now on GOG. Viking Invasion Gameplay trailer was released as well. Coming out in December.
The sea battles and sailing in general looks pretty cool.

Kind of a crap trailer though, I really wanted to see the celtic factions and some shots of the world map. All looked to be viking factions in the trailer so you really don't see any of the western troops and such.
Several factions to choose from including Vikings, Saxons, Irish, Britons and Picts.
Wait, weren't the picts basically gone by this point in history? Like, weren't they considered scottish by the mid 9th-century?
Just got the game. The combat is literally more difficult than rocket science, but it's really fun. I love the atmosphere of the game, riding into battle, etc. I have no idea what to do in the game though, I just run around and kill things.
