I am very exicted for viking conquest, though I will wait a little bit.
Hope it is also possible to play as somewhere in the low lands since we did get raided quite a bit during the viking age but I could understand the focus on Britain/Scandivina
what are good mods for improving and expanding the core game?
[editline]19th November 2014[/editline]
also is there a way/mod to play a multiplayer version of the singleplayer sandbox?
Just when you build up a good force and can travel the land at ease with your cargo of trade you step into Kergit territory and got molested by 80 Steppe Bandits.
I'm having some problems trying to access the item list thing for M&B:WB with Morghs M&B WB-WFAS Editor. I have done it before, but for some reason, the editor doesn't seem to wanna open things correctly, even though i specify the paths correctly.
Is there some recent patch i don't know of, that changed or broke something?
has anyone been able to play? it's not showing up as installed for me
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1hhuxmD4sQd Time for this 24/7
oh my god thats fucking brilliant
I'm liking VC so far, doing the story campaign. The kids though are funny, just being scaled down adults.
Playing Sandbox and god damn its' fun to explore the ruins and just lark about bong land.
the music seems to bug out
also the game crashed lol
Game crashes and music cuts out.
Other than that I'm having a very very good time on story mode which I thought I would turn off without 10 minutes and just go on sandbox.
The only music has only bugged out on me in the intro sequence on the boat in the story mode.
Haven't had any crashes, but there seems to be this weird FPS lag I keep getting, and I've got a GTX 770.
Other than that I'm really enjoying it, the story mode is actually really nice.
Just downloaded and tested the DLC and I must say (much to my disappointment) that it's utterly broken. The performance is horrible on a high-end PC, everything takes way too long to load, there are missing and flickering textures and graphical artifacts (on torches etc.) and missing sounds combined with random crashing. Its like the DLC had no quality control at all and it was churned out way before it was ready to be released.
But it has a lot of promise from what I've managed to play it, if they will just patch it up to a playable state. I would recommend people not to buy it at the moment.
I've had music cut out in battles but nowhere else and the performance is fine for me.
I just travel from tournament to tournament kicking everyones ass with the butterknife and shield.

Sounds like Brytenwalda
My biggest concern with Viking Warfare would be feature creep in patches.
Brytenwalda was fucked after a while, they'd basically re-balance the entire game every patch. You'd come back in and suddenly you'd get half as much XP for killing people, or swords do half as much damage and throwing darts and skirmishing javelins are like herpes for shields and destroy them in one hit. The game kept getting more and more wacky, like they were getting their historical information from the History Channel or something.
Hopefully taleworlds keeps reins on them so that doesn't happen with this one.

I stopped playing Brytenwalda after I noticed the horrendous leveling system from recent updates. You'd have to slaughter a dozen armies to get to a reasonable level, and everything is super fucking expensive.
It takes 4-5 strikes from a sword (with a high level and good word, I might add) against an unarmored Lvl 1 recruit.
Javelins, however, cut through shields like butter, and insta-kill horses when not in skirmish mode.
oh man, raiding a monastery was fun. monks running about, a bell ringing, some trying to fight back.
my axe in their skulls. good clean viking fun.
Anybody have any pictures of the Brython/Pict/Gael factions? I feel like those weren't shown at all in trailers and screenshots, unless they look identical to the viking and saxon factions :ohdear:
Even playable for that matter? I remember Fire and Sword kind of fucked you into being some generic cultureless nobody in the defense that the game was story driven, Caribbean did the same thing.
There's really bull penis in the way of media for this DLC. No idea what the world map looks like, don't know what any f the factions are, etc.
I'll take some screenshots in a custom battle in a few minutes, you can select the other factions in that.

Are you trying to tell me caribbean is released?

Can you upload footage of the game?
There is literally no media of the game in any way beside the stuff provided by TalesWorld.

it's northwest europe during the viking age.
wikipedia can take it from here.
Alright so far I've got to say it's quite pathetic that the game seems to crash every 30 minutes of playing.
Besides that, there's some kind of bug with the music, that makes it cut out sometimes.
The performance has been OK for me, but I did have one fight where my FPS just went crazy to the point where it was unplayable.
Another thing is how terribly slow the loading screens are. This is especially annoying when you have to launch the game for the 30th time because it keeps crashing. The game also seems to freeze for a second or two every single time you transition from one area to another, or go from one menu to another.
This DLC could definitely have used some quality control - I hope they fix this shit.

Actually yeah, I'll just take some video using shadowplay.

It's not much, just me showing off the campaign map, and a bit of where I am in the story (+ a small battle where I get my ass handed to me). Also, the more I play the more I notice the artifacts that pop up for a few seconds in the scenes. oh, and I do have everything on easiest since I'm just doing a first run through. Playing more to relax sorta deal.
Played through it last night, can't say I'm impressed so far.
What I don't understand is how their work on Brytenwalda is more polished than VC. I can understand why they'd charge money for it since they've obviously worked quite hard on the story mode and the other neat touches (which I enjoyed), but I know they could have done way better to make sure it was as bug-free as possible.
So far, I don't recommend buying it unless they patch it up to a more functional state.

Yeah, Taleworlds forums are full of complaining people and some of the threads there are very informative about the state of the DLC.
